Recruited and disappointment.Who Needs new Series?

Like I mentioned already, MajorKoenig's arguments are usually semantic in nature and not actual relatable practices. A CV player does not risk being useless when it loses most of it's planes early, the CV player knows it will be useless. It is not a risk, it is a certainty, because of how the AA system works. At what rate you will lose planes is mainly up to you, the CV player, by choice.
-
True, if you are unlucky and accidentally fly into the AA aura of a few selected ships you might lose a couple. So the risk part here is in flying around when not all ships have yet been spotted. This risk is marginal to what can happen to a DD that unwillingly gets detected within gun range of other ships it encounters. Or a BB that sails into the torp range of a DD unwillingly. Or a cruiser that gets caught within gun range of a battleship. There is simply no comparison in the 'risk' involved as narrated currently by MajorKoenig.

Looks like Herr MajorKoenig has found his new mantra. And like all of his arguments they are about syntax rather then substance. Fine. Your planes are not at 'risk', they will receive a predetermined amount of damage when you decide to attack, provided you are proficient enough to avoid flak bursts. So receiving damage is up to you. You decide how much damage you will take depending on what you want to attack. And you know what you will get yourself into because CV is the master spotting class as well. So no, you are not putting your planes at risk. You are not 'risking' not being able to participate like damaged or sunk ships are. You can change your mind on attack plans at any time at your disgression even when your planes are spotted. You can disengage whenever you want with zero losses while planes are spotted. When you decide you want to attack you simultaniously decide how much HP you will lose in that attack. You decide that. If you lose all your planes early you solved your given math problems inadequatly. But you didnt risk anything.

Did somebody say Assashio?

A few thoughts on this French DD event
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to You_Overextended's topic in General Discussion
While I do appreciate the helpful comments guys, seeing a constant stream of loot boxes and 'early access' bs endlessly incorporated in every event, coupled with some weird inexplicable 30 x 1000 gold buy-in predatory design is so off putting to me that I feel disgusted by it, and no longer want to support a company that creates 'value' like this. To me it has no entertainment value what so ever, and I pay to be entertained, not to soothe addiction or fear of losing out. I always vote with my wallet, and my vote of NO keeps getting stronger with every event. The horrible grind, the crap summer sale, made me so disinterested that I'm not even going to bother reading this one. As for incentives, I really don't care about the early access bait, never did anywhere so it's not about being stressed or worried. It's about becoming numb and fatigued by the endless stream of horseshit, being covered up by a thousand words. The more people talk, the bigger the pile of crap they are trying to cover up. I'm good though, I'll spend money on other stuff I enjoy like my guitars, my art or doing fun stuff with the mrs. I just think WG should be worried about the rabbit hole they seem to be fixated on.- 67 replies

A few thoughts on this French DD event
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to You_Overextended's topic in General Discussion
I havent even read the event this time. I am actually tired of this developer creating overcomplicated events designed to shaft players into either spending too much time in badly designed modes, or shaft them by willingly designing grinds so people are lured into a horrible and predatory schemes of gambling addictions, greed or fear of losing out. WG is turning into EA 2.0. I am a long time customer, having enjoyed the game and spending plenty for years, signaling WG that they are losing long time paying customers. Its fine, I can play fine without paying for your game. Not sure if you can sustain your businuss without people like me spending. Create value, not predatory schemes, and I will happily spend money on your product. -
My advise is to start playing more classes of different Nations and spend more time in the tier you are in. Focusing on 1 sub tree will progress you too quickly to consecutive tiers, and you won't learn to understand how BB or DD so easily counter you. Also cruisers are the most vulnerable ships out there prone to deletion because of the combination of average concealment and low armor. Play the ship trees more horizotal, less vertical. @GarrusBrutus has the best possible tip for you to git gud. Before committing to an action be sure you have an escape route readily available so when S hits he F you can disengage without giving it a second thought.

I didnt know this and i thank you very much fot adding this titbit of knowledge to my world. Its alway interesting to understand the origins of things. Thank you sir.

With the summer"sale" nearly ending, did you pick up anything?
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Nothing could spark my interest but I already own most ships I like. And it's not that I don't want to spend money on this game, but not this way. The horrible event and abysmal grind wall they put up this year also played a part in my decision. I kinda don't like what they have been doing in their game as of 0.8.0. Too bad WG, you lost out on good money this summer. -
How about a CV you doofus <3

1000 posts! Let's celebrate with an unpopular opinion
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to Mr_Tayto's topic in General Discussion
I agree on Izumo, I play her every day. As for my unpopular opinion: I think Assashio is a fine ship with 4 tricks and it's not a pony. -
^^ Appreciated @T0byJug @Episparh STOP CALLING MY PRECIOUS A PONY! Obligatory Yes for mid tier DD's and CA's as free XP rewards yay!
-
You haven't actually absorbed anything I told you did you... I have whiped the floor with Z52's trying to kill me in a 1 vs 1 situation. Yes, the german tier X DD's with hydro. I've punished Gearings. Shima's, almost every type of destroyer that came after me. By playing smart, and taking their eager bloodlust of seeing a 'helpless' Assashio and use it against them. I've killed many cruisers by baiting them into chasing me and grinding them to zero health. And yes, sometimes I use a nearby ally to help me, guess what, it works too. But you are right, Assashio is not a DD or CA HUNTER. It is great DD and CA bait. And yes, baiting your opponents into your teams range of fire while keeping them red eyed is actually something the Assashio does brilliantly. You know why? Because players keep thinking they can attack my Assashio and kill me without hardly any risk. They see me, go into easy kill blood rage mode and start hunting me. And I take them by the hand and lead them into certain death or heavy punishment dictated on my terms because of great conceilemnt, good guns, two rear turrets for excellent kiting and a low hard to hit profile at max gun range. That is why I am able to punish DD's and cruisers into submission surprisingly often. Look, i think we might misunderstand you. For all I know you are looking for that one trumps all fighting machine that physically beats all others. I get it. But the Assashio is not a one trick pony by far. Perhaps it would be in your hands, but that is not on the ship, that is a lack of tactical flexibiliy on your part. EDIT: And yes i want other tier and type ships as free XP as coal options

WG: Will Benham be put up for sale in the Premium shop?
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
The status you are conveighing by owning a Benham is that you like bad designed spammy gamemodes for short attention span kids and/or have spent an unhealthy amount of money on gambing items by being the perfect gullable consumer. That's about as classy as it gets mate -
WG: Will Benham be put up for sale in the Premium shop?
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
If you need bigger prizes to encourage you to make an effort to win you are not competitive by nature. Also, having a Stalingrad only means you play clan battles. It has no relationship to being a potato or not. I am not a potato, yet I have no Stalingrad. Guess why. -
Make the Map Border behave the same way as an Island.
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to Sunleader's topic in General Discussion
I try not to get caught up in them but when I do it's either accidental or because I ran out of map space denying the winning enemy team them last kill -
Make the Map Border behave the same way as an Island.
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to Sunleader's topic in General Discussion
I find regular moving targets way easier to hit since I'm used to predicting those movements alot. I meet bordergliders only sparcely, they annoy me because i suck at hitting them reliably, especially if they are as proficiant in border rimming as I am -

WG: Will Benham be put up for sale in the Premium shop?
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
Is it just me or are a lot of Benhams played wrong? I keep killing them in my Grozovoi (im grinding the legendary), because they seem to be overly agressive pushing caps and in particular my position up to 5 km, wiggeling in weird ways to get their torp soup in the water, while being shot fairly easy. What's up with that? Isn't it supposed to be played like a stealth torp soup destroyer? -
Actually, what I'm telling you is that the Dutch navy specified her as a submarine destroyer. Which makes her an interesting pick. I won't speculate, it's up to WG to destroy their game, not me
-
Ignorant: not well informed or educated, being without knowledge, being unfamiliar with, inexpert, unknowledgeable, etc. There is also dumb and other connotations but those are beside the point I'm trying to get across. Which is lack of experience and knowledge. Anyway, did you get my point about the Friesland being a Submarine destroyer by it's original design specifications? It might shed a light on what to expect from it, seeing as WG is softly pushing Sub content into their communications lately.
