Yesterday got targetted in chat at by a 44% WR player who sat through the whole match, dead, commenting my every move. He ended up 11th on our team. I ended up 1st. Guess what he had to say about me ^^

But there is fun to be had in having a great match. A binary appraoch like yours might apply to you personally, it doesn't nullify other experiences, no matter how blunt you try to be. Fish and chips it is!

Yes, yes i think it did.

Really.

One thing that strikes me as what I am missing in the current CV rework: all the pretty cinematic puffs and tracers in the sky won't cover up the loss of seeing 2 carriers having a go at eachother's planes and ships like in the RTS days. Now that was cinematic. Disclaimer and smallprint: doesn't mean i want to go back to RTS, it means I miss awesome CV gameplay

These things dont happen easily in many cases, you apparantly dont understand what Im talking about. Let me clarify: When you're in a DD and dare to target a CV, that CV will most likely kill you. When you are in a cruiser, and your trading shots with a BB that BB has a very high chance of sending you to Port via your citadel. If you're in a BB hell bend chasing a DD chances are big you will be sent to Port by it's torpedoes. Now explain to me why a CV doesn't need any hard counter like that. Explain to me why you think it is a good idea that once a CV has decided to sink a ship it should be able to do so no matter what. I think your ideas are silly, not because they are different from mine but because they are bad. Your ideas are not about proper balance but about counters to what you don't like in other players behavior. CV's are not garbage. I think CV's have a place in the game, but are stupidly durable. I think CV's need to be more vulnourable and sent to port earlier in matches more often, so bad players dont come here moaning about losing planes. If they get sunk early it should be clear to them that they were playing and can stop sulking over having no planes and a 100% HP ship hull floating around. I think the hard counter to CV's should be other CV's, and if WG reintroduces that, having 2 CV's per side in a match wont be a problem any more. I think WG dropped the ball with this rework and made some pretty bad calls and missed some great opportunities as far as reworking CV goes. But you dont care for ideas of others that are different from yours as you've already explained in your initial post. Just because you are entitled to your own opinion, which is correct, doesn't render that opinion impervious to critique, especially on an open forum like this. And now you solemny declare I am as terrified of opinions of others like you seem to be Puhlease man. Give me a reason to love you.

Grinding tokens for T9 French Destroyer? Not happening WG

So you want 'naughty' players punished? Playes who's behavior you think is 'incorrect' or are not pretty enough for you? Comedy gold... . So why doesn't that apply to the CV itself? Why doesn't a commited DD get the privilege to kill a CV without it being able to prevent being sunk? Why doesn't a cruiser get to sink a BB when he puts enough effort in it without risking being citadelled to port? Why doesn't a BB get to sink a DD when it wants to really bad without risking being instagibbed while trying? So you pre-emptively reject anything that can be taken against your 'opinion' by telling us you don't care for anyone else's needs, thoughts or ideas?

A few thoughts on this French DD event
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to You_Overextended's topic in General Discussion
Our fallacy for short term rewards is why a lot of poeple overeat eat on sugary foods in large quantities. You seem to assume this is about logic and calculated behavior. It isn't. It's primal. -
Plenty of random matches no longer have Cv in them as well.

@L0V3_and_PE4CE Sounds unfortunatly tempting. Training to be a bit less agressive until all major threats are known is still a great way to improve fighting radar. I know it sounds like afk play, but there's a huge grey area. I had to learn and still am, as my temperament lures me into being very agressive, I have to restraining myself until all radars are spotted, even if it takes way longer then I like.

There. Fixed.

Grinding tokens for T9 French Destroyer? Not happening WG
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to Bayla450's topic in General Discussion
It totally is. -
Oh I forgot, you mentioned help was welcome in regard to combatting radar, sorry. Let me get back to your example with the Cleveland. Disclaimer: if my tips seem condescending because you think these are trivial, please take no offence, I am blank as far as understanding how you play DD's and what you already do and not do. Also remember, knowing things and executing things while in battle are two different things. You mentioned you got caught off guard by the cleveland that wasn't spotted yet. Getting caught like this isn't uncommon when starting off agressive, which leaves every DD player with 1 main job at round start: locate all radar threats, and until you do, avoid being agressive, either in capping or in attacking with guns. In case of thesurprise cleveland, retreiting without firing your guns would have been the better option. I know it's hard to restrain oneself in situations like that buit it will enhance your survivability. Edit: it is very well possible that in that particular case the threat was unavoidable.

You can get lice for free too :D -
It's interesting because in the current iteration the skill gap is as wide as it ever was before without CV sniping.

What is your fav class to play and why?
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to Bear__Necessities's topic in General Discussion
For me it's DD's. They are a great combination of layed back gaming and action, but what I love most is that I get to dictate on what ground and at which moment encounters take place. I like to be the puppy that doesn't care about your size. -

Can Karma go into negative figures?
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to Drunken_Jedi's topic in General Discussion
I told everyone they and and that they . My Karma dropped from 2 to 1. Just 1 report? What am I doing wrong? Plz h@lp. -
You are right ofc. but there are examples of kids spending hundreds to thousands of pounds of their parents money or their own savings on games with this exact predatory behavior. Also, their website states PEGI 7, and no warning for lootbox related content, which is an omission in the PEGI system I guess. So the small print might be legally correct, but in practical terms they don't give a toss.
-
From what I understand is that they wanted to make the new carrier class idiot proof and went overboard. Also, they play spreadsheet. Not ships.

I have 2. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. It was never this high. :-( -
I don't have a habit of this, but sometimes one stumbles upon a stray carrier. DD's were able to stand a good chance if a carrier misplayed like that before the Stupid Durability Upgrade that came with 0.8.0. Now I can't even say a CV misplayed when it gets isolated and attacked by a DD. As far as I'm concerned, all DD's accomplish now is present themselves on a silver platter to the CV for them to kill it. Anyone who thinks that is okay doesn't really seems interested in fair and balanced CV play.
-
This is the exact issue that is pointed out, as far as CV hull durability goes. The automated repair control and the 5 sec fire duration makes it almost impossible to grind a CV down for a destroyer, and as you pointed out, their guns do very little to it's armor, which leaves just the torpedoes as it's main weapon of damage, which can be evaded for a large part. Can you see where the balance knob has been dialed towards CV knob players that should deserve to be severely punished because they neglected their hull positioning? Players that should be sent to port, but WG decided no. To me it is unacceptable that fatal mistakes sends every other class to port, especially DD's. But not CV's. CV's can up with impunity in an endless stream of bad plays and float about in their stupidly durable hulls with nothing to do but sulk about how they lost all their planes /end rant about stupid design for the stupid
-
I think what you're missing is that WG thinks its playerbase is silly beyond repair. And somehow I have a hard time disagreeing with them this summer
