T5~CV~Time to farm XP and Coins
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to Rhineheart_Thor's topic in General Discussion
It is. I've reset my IJN line, and the results are emberassingly clubby. Don't dismiss this result by the low battle count, as it has been effortless. I've mentioned this in several posts, this is bad for recruitment of new players. -
I bought the Flint as soon as 0.8.0 pointed out to me that the Atlanta was a former shadow of itself. Flint is great.
-
If it keeps shooting up to 7 km something is amiss :-) The interface says 5.8 km long range. I'll test it sometime.

T5~CV~Time to farm XP and Coins
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to Rhineheart_Thor's topic in General Discussion
Looking at that first screenshot, I am 100% sure you aren't on a payback roll to seal cucumbers. Also, you shot down 8 planes in that match with 3 CV's. The rest, well done i guess? -
Atlanta AA range was nerfed to 5.8 km without means to extend it i think? It used to be a proud AA protector of the fleet, now it has become like all ships, only about itself mainly. Guess the balancing dep. at WG got tired of managing deviates.
-
The Atlanta's issue with CV in the match isn't so much being bombed, although that got magically worse with the new CV rework, it's being spotted by planes while shooting out of cover which instantly turns all enemy guns on it. Because of that playing the Atlanta has become very unreliable. I prefer the Flint nowadays.

I just reset my first tech tree, and plan to reset them all.

Thanks, corrected. Now go find something constructive to do ^^ -

Fair point, but I feel the whole tree reset isn't good for new players. I think the reset should have been to tier 6 instead of the whole line. The Hosho is brutal, and as I am not planning to FXP my way through it, I'll be clubbing babies for quite some time. The isokaze a low tier BB sealclubber too. Very bad for business. -

Sure, to each his own. I wouldn't have played many of these ships if I hadn't reset, which is actually giving the game some new found fun for me, as I was getting annoyed and burned out on the events and tier X very static meta. I don't even know how many ships I had before the reset, but I kept all my favorites. Somehow WG keeps pushing TXI and X ships and events, even with the rewards for resetting, which is actually something I am not enthusiastic about. Thanks for your sarcasm, tell your mayor to award you a medal. -

Progress on the reset of the IJN lines, I'm having lots of fun at tier VI-VII. Currently on Hatsuharu, Fubuki, Hosho and the Myoko which turns out to be a lot of fun, especially compared to when I first played her. I know this ship way better then I did before, and that helps in creating some memorable moments when being uptiered. I'm also enjoying training some of the nice anime captains I've aquired last few years, pretty happy with those. As I am not grinding for the reward ships, but reset to enjoy a second play through, I feel like I have all the time in the world to get to tier X, which is great. I feel no pressure at all to reach the Colbert, because I don't even want it. I might take the Ohio when the time comes, but I'm not much of a BB fan. All in all I am very happy with the rest, and resetting one nation is actually great fun. I am playing cruisers, DD's and a carrier, so resetting multiple trees deters from grinding and keeps it varied and fun. I'll reset the US or UK tree next season. Resetting more then 4 trees per season might not be advisable. Hope my enthusiasm might sway some of the people that are thinking about doing this but are uncertain if they should. As long as you plan to have fun and enjoy the ride, I can wholeheartedly recommend it. My most recent Myoko match was great: Got blapped for 5/6th of my tier 6 Myoki HP within 5 minutes of a tier 8 game by a very smart Kutuzov (kudo's to him) so I only had a hair of HP left. BUT: my Myoko was still floating at the end of the round, and I managed to be very usefull to the team and win by using islands to hide myself from being detected. Good thing I had flags stacked: 10.790 FXP, 14.858 XP and 38.721 commander XP -
Does Detonation Mechanic actually have any Use in this Game aside from annoying People ?

I always feel sorry when it happens to someone else, I always feel meh when it happens to me. The two main emotions every game is looking for. -
Could we have a "I got a chatban!"-button?
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to General_Kunde's topic in General Discussion
That's fine. I get chatbanned at least once a month- 69 replies

Add me to that list. I play a mimumum amount of ranked battles just enough to secure some flags. That means somewhere between 1 to 8 battles per season tops and I'm at rank 12, or 10 depending on what the last irrevocable rank is. As soon as I hit that, I'm out :-)

I would spam it even when not being chat banned but I like the suggestion. +1- 69 replies

This is true. I am completely unfamiliar with what makes a ship suitable for the current competetive meta (ranked excluded as it is not competetive). So I'm a bit confused, why would competing clans need a ship with a treat that makes it special/unique but not stronger?
-
Comparing wows ranked season to World cup football. Again, hat off to you sir!
-
WOWs is designed to give as many people as possible a sprinkled sense of accomplishment. Everything in WOWs is catered to that. That is why ranked is not a true competetive system. It's ment to be casual, but it's essentially evil. I think WG is perfectly happy because it does what it needs to do: make even people who resent it play it more then they want ;-) A new true competetive system is probably what people are looking for, ranked will never be that.

A case for a change in the Reporting / Karma system
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to RevelAndQuaff's topic in General Discussion
He got that for being Polish if memory serves me right :D -
Interesting. You twist by accusing me of twisting instead of giving arguments to support your case. People on forums never fail to dissapoint. You are not happy with a reward that is just a good performing premium ship, an economical benefit. You want more, something special. Additional treats. Either it being another obscure gimmick like I originally mentioned, or a buff like the title of the thread asks for. You somehow feel entitled by your effort, acquiring steel, apparantly because you think your effort is somehow worth more then money is. It's hard for you apparantly, gathering steel. The answer to your issue is simple: If the pay isn't good enough simply don't pick up the job. EDIT - On topic: Somers is fine. Steel is fine. Everything is fine.
-
Your reason to want a better Somers - omg i put so much effort in this game - is not a enough reason to warrant additional treats. Economics is a good enough reward. If that reward isn't worth it to you, don't put the effort in. Simple.
-
This is quite interesting. You might ask yourself if perhaps you reached the rank level that compliments your skill level? Also lol @ Grandpa Wille, thats arrogant and ignorant at the same time. Well played sir!
-
I hardly acquire steel at all. Still doesn't warrant steel ships to be slightly OP / special / new enough for them to 'be worth it'. Want a premium tier X without spending a dime? Play clan stuff or suffer the horror of ranked BS and earn it. Want a slight OP ship to make it special? No. Really. If it works like that i want all my cash bought premiums to be OP as well, luckily only a couple are. I understand the want for different playstyles, but if a ship is balanced and fine, it's good as it is. You get a premium tier X. Go play it and enjoy the economics of it.
-
Isn't it a premium ship? Why would you need something 'new' from it, the game is already riddled with weird gimmicks, it's time to put that to rest. You get to sail a tier X premium dd for no monetary cost other then ingame earned currency. Good enough i'd say.

Regrind - Super basis ships in game
Mad_Dog_Dante replied to RamboCras's topic in General Discussion
Ive reset 4 lines, the IJN cruiser, IJN CV and 2 IJN DD lines, and I just checked my credit income. I hardly have to see a difference yet, but I'm at tiers 5, 6 and 7 atmo :o Also, I decided not to free XP or boostpack my way through, I'm just replaying the lines like I did the first time. I do have a premium account thought I bought back in december running. It was dirt cheap back then, one of the reasons I went for the reset actually, good use of my premium year. Actually having fun, and I'm in no rush to get a reward ship. Not interested in the cruiser as I have the Smolensk, the Ohio maybe, but I'm not a BB fan at heart. -

I use max flags camos and consumables at low ranks because ingame I let it hang.
