Marceau trading a colbert @ 7 km Paolo 3 kills in under a minute
-
Let me chime in: I played the Marceau kind of blue, not really understanding what it was. I was surprised at how well it was able to fend off Hallands contesting a cap despite the detectability difference heavily in favor of Halland. I went back and forth over 1 objective for over 5 minutes, both players supported by cruisers and battleships, fighting a pretty good Halland captain in one of my first Marceau battles. I was just surprised how much weight it was able to throw in against a target that had such a conceilment advantage. I like the Marceau, and I like the Halland specifically for it's torpedoes. This is why I still haven't decided if I should get the Smalland yet.

The Paolo is an absolute fun ship. The SAP is solid as it is combined with HE for extra BBQ, the torps are devestating, it's decently fast, the speedboost and engine smoke consumables are killer. I love it. The Marceau is pretty sweet if you like french style dd's, but I've played it not realising it was so close to the kleber, which made it a bit odd contesting caps and such (), but that was my fault, not the ship.

OMG. I just discovered SAP on the Paolo -
Paolo, Smalland, Marceau, in that order for random, unless you play competetive I guess. I did Marceau, Paolo and am still thinking about Smalland.

Absolutely See there it goes ----------------> . -
That's what I thought. The way it functioned in the game I'm talking about was every soldier more you had in the cap would speed up the capping process. So with 3 vs. 2 it would be really slow, with 5 vs 1 it would be fast, 2 vs. 2 would stall. It encouraged players to actively hunt for occupants. You could fully cap even with enemy soldiers in it, so you should really call them control areas I guess? It was pretty cool, a bit of a mini map/game wihthin the match. But it won't work for WOWS due to the nature of the game.

I can assure you, not all attack runs are as smooth as the one I posted. This match had a carrier which spotted me regularly but was still learning about german AP rockets. -

I had it this moring: a DM took a defensive island corner position, which was fine. Then 3 BBs sat behind him. After I capped and pushed forward in my DD I was forced to return to these , due to lack of support and weight behind my attack, which gave the enemy room to push. Later our other 2 BBs joined the inert blob which resulted in absolutely nothing except a excruciating loss. -
We had a system like that in a game I worked on and it worked pretty well for a first person shooter type of game, where objectives could occupy an entire buiding, which players had to flush out. It prevented cap blocking by 1 versus 8 for instance from an obscure corner behind a crate. Cap area's were more about securing an advance then a tug of war on most maps. It even showed the ratio bewteen attacking and defending players in a cap. For WOWS I'm not so sure it would work, looking at the lack of cover and size ratio ship to objective.

Or that friendly russian cruiser sailing the map border using his radar at some weird random moment in the match with nothing in sight for 18 km

That's because CV's still deserve a good amount of moaning, so: confirmed.

I see plenty of Thunderers, it's not exactly a rare ship, way more often then 1 in 10 matches

CV nerf - wow that hammer went pretty steep

You obviously weren't here around the 0.8.0 update I guess. Since 0.8.0 almost all carriers play a solo game in a PVP enviroment. -
At some point those training wheels need to go

I just had my first run in the Paolo. If you are anything decent in DD's she is a hoot and she's the cheapest, also T9, which I prefer. I don't like tier X ship MM and Meta. My first match was a bit on the careful side even, just to get myself familiar with setting up attack runs. The match had a TX carrier in it and one radar ship. I have 3 kills, the 4th was stolen from me by the carrier who bombed the Thunderer's last remaining HP away right before my second wave of torpedoes were about to hit. I own Ohio and Siegfried too, Paolo most fun no contest. This assumes you are proficiant at DD's, know your way around carrier matches and are looking for a bit of trololol. Otherwise Ohio is great, but I'm not a BB fan, Siegfried is pretty cool too, as I'm using a 2ndairy troll build. But she's pretty good. Replay of my first match in Yolomilio attached, I do 3 attack runs, the first one fails due to the Thunderer turning away from the angry smoke screen approaching (pro tip for BB's right there), the second one is succesfull, when I kill a low HP kremlin up close and get an Iowa snack as a bonus. Third run is half succesfull against that same Thunderer but got robbed. 20201018_134615_PISD509-Paolo-Emilio_47_Sleeping_Giant.wowsreplay

Lootboxes and gambling much?

I sit behind a chair, let one rip, and the stench fill the entire room, much like carriers actually ^^

You can't have it all in 1 ship though ^^
