Nope. AA tracers are spawned from randomized locations and not originating from the ship when smoked up, because ofc WG had to resort to hacks to fix WG created problems. The main gunfire however does.Just for your information. -

Current secondary builds are useless - Need rework

Secondairies have never been a competetive option in the past, but they were good enough to meme and have fun with them. Currently, spreading the damage over multiple targets with less accuracy doesn't work, and the reason why it doesn't is fairly simple. In the past, focusing secondairies on 1 target helped players to get rid of that opponent faster -> one less ship shooting at you. The current 'solution' fails because the damage (even assuming it's the same amount of damage total) is spread over multiple targets, and if one is facing only 1 target, effectively halved. It means when facing multiple targets that those all get to stay around way longer to shoot you down. Same goes for a 1 on 1, the opponent doesnt get punished by secondairies as much as it did before, so secondairies in that situation actually got nerfed hard. That is why secondairy builds currently are worse compared to the previous iteration: even if they apply the same amount of damage, that damage is unfocused and for the large part ineffective. Hence the death of a workable meme. -

Maybe I can help you understand some of the motivation to watch players like Flamu and Flambass, not being a fanboi of either of them, but watching their videos regularly. Flamu, aside his abusive mouth, has good understanding of the game mechanics. He has helped me develop my preferred playstyle, because I myself can't be bothered to dive deep into the numbers, memorize the armor and gun caliber interactions etc. I'm a generalist: I just want to play and get better at the game but not study the game in depth. Watching knowledgable people play helps me cherrypick what I want out of the game. CC's that position themselves as an extention of WG's marketing efforts do not interest me. Im not looking for more advertising, I'm looking for insight.- 141 replies

The suggestion is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to bring down carriers battle influence without destroying it's popularity. DD's have a low survival rate, which means there is a high skill level involved to apply that battle influence. They have many tactical opportunities and their vulnourability makes playing them interesting and challanging. Carriers on the other hand have an absurd survival rate and have everything mentioned about DD gameplay missing. The carrier rework simplified the class to an incomprehensible lack of interaction (there isnt even PVP interaction in a carrier striking a ship, except for WASD) and severly limiting tactical options from the class itself as well as the rest of the fleet. This means that lowering the battle influence by tweaking ANY of the nobs will make them utterly crap and boring, and by default, is doomed to fail 100%. We have already been exposed to that information for years now, it has been told many many many times by one of our most capable carrier mains. It is interesting Flamu has created this vid, but it is mostly old news.

Watching the video reminded me on how incompetent the gameplay designers of WOWS really are. Impotent almost, simply unable to achieve a set design goals.

But fewer not more valid sec builds. Absolutely top notch REdesigned then? Or a missed opportunity to create more variation for a larger part of the fleet? Anyone can carry an BB AA build, most of them are absolutely pointless compared to a tank build. Unless you like to carry useless points into battle half the time no carrier is present? Yeah. We can all do stuff. Yes we can. But why exactly? -

Smaland is just not a very good DD when there are no enemy DD's to fight anymore. If there aren't enemy DD's left it means you did your job well and your team has a better chance to win because of that. If there are enemy DD's still it means you discovered Smaland isn't that great when facing skilled enemy DD players and your team wished you had bought a Hayate instead

Without deadeye, secondairies and AA builds are the remaining but still shitty options next to tank builds. Not because they are great builds for what they cost, but because of 'meh'.
