Since my return in october I've played quite a bit and have not noticed a decline in my performance. It's actually pretty much the same as when I left. Where do you get your numbers from if I may ask? -

Soooo, the debate on how to counter subs is basically washed away by talking about battleships because there's nothing much else to talk about on the subject. That seems pretty in character for how well the submarine class got integrated into the game. One thing of note to poor sods in light cruisers (my favorite class once upon a time) with only ship dropped ASW: internalize that with the exception ships of without ASW, light cruisers are the worst ships to fight subs 1 on 1. If you must, please remember not to attack subs from the front, and in some cases the aft, much like DD's shouldn't. Try to drop ASW at the side when possible to avoid being shotgunned. Also, be careful not to overshoot your position and end up at the front of the sub when coming from behind. I know i know, sub turning radius is absurd like most of everything else, but still. Try to avoid being shotgunned will ya?

I like some of these ideas. The proxy spotting with 2 km for only the subs is a far superior idea then the currently implemented //oh, we'll just comment the function out// by Lesta (because that is not the execution of a gameplay idea, just a fullstop I dont know what to do). It wont help sub vs. Sub combat since 2 km is too short, but avoids stupid results like invisible subs ramming invisible subs. In the whole range of stupid sub ideas (single launch spam, homing, dcp detox, invisible to hydro, dolphening, shotgunning, absurd underwater speeds, massive hitpools etc etc), the non proxy spotting solution shows the lack of integrity, knowledge and skills by the producers and designers the most. I hate it because the absence of love for its subject by the developer is painfully clear here. Some of the other ideas can be an improvement, some need a bit of work still.- 32 replies

Lol, he would love to but cant do anything because forum. O. Wait. As far as counters to subs - the only real counter it has is being spotted. By whatever. So in any ship you are in, if there is any chance of you spotting it without being focused to death or sailing straight into a narrow shotgun volley, take a chance. If any of the before mentioned circumstances are true however, avoid it and let someone else try.

My worst two ships @ 50 battles minimum. Apparantly I found them very hard to play as they score miserable in both WR, PR, avg. damage and avg. kills.. To be fair it's been years since I played them probably. -
I'm not a jealous man sir. But I am miffed still about the horrible kids event (100 knts DD's with 300 knts torps i think it was) Lesta produced as the wall the Benham sat behind. It was so poor and shallow, I gave up after 3 matches. It ignited my disdain for the designers and producers of Lesta which has been fueled by poorly made decisions and out of character gameplay design ever since.

I really do not understand why that feature was dropped. it was the one feature of def AA that made some sense at least and that gave targets some direct influence on the attack itself. Now targets get to shoot at straglers.

I hope we all do appreciate how weird this sounds, because its true: we cant expect a specific slotted feature to actually do much. I'll write it again so we can appreciate the logic: we cant expect a feature on the Atago, for the Atago, to actually do much. We cant. Because reasons. This game design team lol.

Again, if you dont want to play silver, play 5 with silver ships and earn your 200 DB that way. Honestly, there is little difference in balancing between the two, except maybe T7 is less forgiving even. I understand your issue with having bought T7 ships, but you can still play those in your preferred game mode. -
