    Devs can add a lot more fun to the game, by adding some realistic gameplay. Make the secondaries from the battleship manual for example, increasing it's range towards it's equivalent main guns in the smaller classes. "Oh blimey, destroyers won't get a chance to close in thus it will be overpowered!" Well, that's a battleship. Battleships were capitalships, not meant to go down by one simple patrolboat with some tubes on it. "That's all hunky-dory, but this is a game how do we balance it?" For as of the destroyers, make them carry mines. Make bonusses to encourage closed formations (solo ship = dead ship). Make cruisers be able to use their radar to search for mines. Balance the quantities of those ships equivalent to their power. And Add some diversity for the carriers to launch anti-ship missiles (Bat, Ohka (kamikaze-missile), and Fritz X for example). "And why would a carrier use Torpedobombers if they have ranged guided missiles?!?" Well, why didn't all planes use anti-ship missiles in WW2? For one, the radiotransmission could be jammed (extra role for the small ships) on some missiles. And the manned missiles were expendable (u can't use the plane anymore, sir carrier.).
