Just because you are in a mean BB doesn't mean you can fight everything on your own. What you do? You stay the hell away from the smoke and you cross your fingers hoping your plane or your allies will spot him. edit: the point you write above is the same a cruiser player could complain about when he gets really close to a BB and gets instant killed. Each class has its strongpoints and weaknesses. And sometimes your weakness is being exploited by the enemy strongpoints. There is no "i always win" situation.

After the first 1-2 tiers i just shoot AP at everything that moves. Perhaps some HE on carriers but that's about it.

Why atleast a premium RN ship is vital to release
Pastaiolo replied to lethalbizzell's topic in General Discussion
*sniff sniff* I smell fanboysm. We all know the importance of Uk being added to the game, but nothing is vital. Besides, we know they add a premium ship of the incoming nation (like it happened with the russian navy in the form of the premium Aurora). There is also no point on adding ships that fit the tech tree as premium. Without even considering balance. What happens when everyone can just buy a Yamato? Yamato only battles. SO MUCH FUN. No thanks. -
You got 5 battles on WoWS. 5.Don't be silly.

in b4 "cleveland is fine, wait, it's actually underperforming, buff rof and gib more AA guns plox" Coudn't agree more with you, Deamon, those sounds like some valid alternatives to me.

My analysis on the "omg torpedoes" matter (DD and CV)
Pastaiolo replied to twibs's topic in General Discussion
It comes from people being new to the game and yet whiny. The first thing you notice being an alpha tester is how people at low/middle tiers still don't know about torps much, they don't look around their ships, they don't zig zag, they don't know where to turn if they spot torpedoes, they don't know not to get close to a smoke screen or a DD, they think their battleship is invulnerable and so on. Time fixes everything. Sadly in the process they create those silly topics about this or that being OP because they got killed by it. -
There are good and bad mods, just like in WoT. And WG staff to create rules regarding mods. So, yes to mods as long as they are considered fair by developers.

Yep. It's also NOT the forum for trained parrots, so mind you if we all don't like to repeat the same things more and more times when a simple search you could have find the answers to your questions, or the lack of it since we don't know release dates ;)

And why the sky is blue? When is Half Life 3 coming? Is there life in the universe? Guys, how about you start reading the forum and stop asking the same things over and over again?

Downside of language specific sections during cbt
Pastaiolo replied to mtm78's topic in General Discussion
Sadly this is europe and we don't have a common language. Forcing people to use english (as much as we all know how important it is to know it in our days) only means having less players playing the game for WG, so that's why they have to support different client languages. What matters, i believe, is that things don't go like they went on WoT with articles and stuff delayed because they had to be translated, informations given only by certain non english staff and so on. As for WoWS, there is no doubt that things will get worse the more people gets access to it, may it be about language barrier or toxic behaviour. I enjoyed alpha right for that as much as i could -
I wish North map showed up more at middle tiers. It gets boring playing Fault line over and over and over and over and over again
-
You are mixing a MM complain with player's performance. Either way, you got an amagi and more tier 7s, which was compensated by the enemy team having more ships. I see nothing so distructive and game breaking in that.

So looking forward to this!

Aoba class damage model bug after today's patch (0.3.0.2)
Pastaiolo replied to zriel's topic in Archive
Played my Aoba, didn't notice anything different -
You shoudn't find yourself neither in range of islands or torps to be honest.
-
A BB shoudn't be at close range anyway. Part of playing it means knowing it's strong points and also the weaknesses. Turret turn rate is not an issue as long as you know how to show up with them pointing at the enemy at the right moment

Glancing torpedos shouldn't detonate or do more damage
Pastaiolo replied to KomissarBojanchev's topic in General Discussion
Adapting what Serb said for WoT, ff you want realism, join the navy. -
You had a nice attitude presenting this issue, so i believe i can say to you that you just need to play it more and you'll learn new ways of dealing with it. From the Kongo and up BBs have decent anti aircraft. Make your friends get their hands on Clevelands and position them between you and where enemy planes are likely to come and we'll see how many reaches you. If planes are coming, turn slightly away from them so they will have to cover a bigger distance your AA and your friend's can take advantage of. Even more so. If a player in a BB find himself so close to a DD or a smoke screen it means he already did his mistake. DDs are really simple, they just take advantage of the enemy lack of situational awareness. The maps are big enough to avoid islands and smoke screens, or even DDs. Staying away from them doesn't make you a coward, on the contrary it makes you a player that knows how to use their assets.
-
It's players that need a buff. There are ways to dodge torps, soak only one and keep fighting, move together with clevelands and similar classes that have good AA and so on. It all comes with experience. The more you play, the more you will also learn how to deal with torps.
-
Correct for both
-
You are being rewarded with an early access to this game (since you are playing it), and with the chance of helping shape it for the masses to a certain extent.
-
That's what happens when a bigger number of players come in, there will be always bad apples. And there is no way for us to change them, they are just who they are, they will perhaps change a little once puberty time is over. What you can do, and i suggest you do, is to report them as soon as you can.

Then it's a bug i also had. Try selecting one preset then select the very high preset, that fixed it for me back then.
