Why do teams melt down so fast?

I think landslide-victories are based on following: -throw people into a team who dont know each other (except divisions) and dont know each other's playstyle -dont give them a practical method to communicate with each other -add some occasional potatoes who don't have a clue about naval warfare and the general capabilities of their ship The battle itself: -wrong positioning of one side and the enemy picks off one by one -slow reaction of vital ships which leads to their death -melting down of cruisers, that leads to loss of firepower and the targets left that can be focused are becoming less and less -(accidental) focusing of big and vital capital ships (with the original intent of kill stealing funnily) -wrong MM thats leads to the presence of exp pinatas (t6 BB matched against T8 BB) Btw, I also thought about an introduction of a tier based point value for each ship. When a T6 BB is dragged up to a T8 battle, there is no way that a bayern and a North Carolina are BOTH worth 45 points it should be downgraded for those who are already..... let's say its a T8 Match and you are T6, then your 45 points are multiplied by 6/8 or decreased by 10% for each tier difference let's not forget the bad incidents like: -ammo detonation of a vital ships -ammo detonation or bad luck of DDs early in the game

    Domination ?!

Except the threadstarter and a small minority everyone else seems to have accepted the fact that game developers are continuing to take away almost everything from the players' control. What can you choose? The ship and press battle. Yes ladies and gentlemen thats it. There was once a time where dedicated servers were used. You have a filter, type in everything to your liking and look for a game YOU (the player) wants to play actually. I see that the complete freedom of dedicated servers wouldnt work with the tier system, but the simple introduction of a voting system like: 1st screen: choose your battlemode [ ] domination [] x [] y 2nd screen: choose between these 3 maps: [ ]a [ ]b [ ]c would ease pain here and there. On top of that the developers would notice what is loved and what not. Its not difficult to implement (asphalt8 managed it, a racing game for mobile devices) The big question is if they really want that. I kind of interpret bad MM and even worse maps as "encouragement to invest".

    Rock-Paper-[edited]

I guess when it is about a vision or a long term plan for WG and how the game should look like, its a christmas present from your uncle. You have no idea what you get but keep the expectations low and see if it isnt that bad after all. I have also discussed about that with my friends I play WoWs with (We started together with WoT) and Warthunder and I guess its the Eastern European approach of game design. I believe they also dont have a plan, its just about finding stuff on blueprints, historical documents and the cornflakes box that can drive and shoot, fly and shoot or float and shoot and implement it. Some of them as premium ships to keep up the cash flow and youre good with your self made game as moneymaker. I imagine them to be quite disorganized and everyone can work on what he wants with 50 extensions of deadlines. They (speaking of Eastern European developers in general) constantly shift own hard caps, soften up own statements on stuff to their needs and from time to time the CEO speaks about some future stuff we will get to know more about in the future. I mean they balance their game by looking at statistics and therefore I imagine our next months and years to be a constant up and down of nerfing, buffing, switching, splitting up and skewing of everything with a pinch of cashflow optimization and keeping the company running.

Smoke is not an earplug !

Yea also noticed but WG has sticked to weird spotting spotting mechanics since World of Tanks. I think they are just not good at simplifying stuff. Btw, smoke also does not have a height. It is really just a flat circle deactivating the "spotted-status". You can notice that (and get annoyed by it) when you have a air squadron 5km behind you and you leave the smoke circle to the other side. You will be instantly spotted again even when the wall of smoke should be still concealing you.

    Update 0.6.3

ok, now even the last maneuver and positioning mistake of BB Kevin is negated. I am glad that it is now very easily accessible and clearly visible what is firing at him because he can just shoot it to pieces. Is not frustrated at all about his own incompetence and can possibly leave some money in the shop. BTW, did anybody notice the ninja version implementation? we got 0.6.2.2 now?
