Sorry but no. It leads mostly to one team DD's being wiped out fast, and the winning team just proceed to cap everything and wipe out the rest of the losers (at this point we can already call them that). Effective it's 10 ships deciding the battle between themselves in 5 minutes top. Rest is just the mop up, which is not exciting for victors and utterly frustrating for losers. Same reason we don't want 5 CV's per side, opposite to BB and CA, CV and DD are too detached from overall battle flow. It isn't stealthy torpmonger, which even for me makes it only bright point in otherwise drab and uninteresting line (i just don't like shooting torps, i prefer guns infinitely more).

Ew. So, it's ok on DD and cruisers to have higher tiers with smaller guns, but absolutely no-no on battleships? Come on WG...

High Tier Economy: Dev says there will be no reduction of repaircost, but it will be offset in the near future by the lootboxes...
Vanhal replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
Absolutely not, because it don't even remotely adress the problem. The problem isn't "players have not enough credits, flags, camos, whatnot", the problem is "high tier are losing credits on most matches and thus considerably lessens the fun derived from play". This problem can be solved only directly, by lowering the requirements to get even to match average player skill (not very good player as it is now). About active and passive, again it's the same avoidance of the real problem. Sure, more rewards is always nice, but it don't apply to the problem. While the lowering of the repair cost DID have good effect on high tier gameplay, which devs confirmed themselves, throwing boxes at the players won't connect to the real issue. And we still don't know basically anything about those boxes. So, let's say optimistically, that those boxes will have significant amount of credits inside. That would just give more credits to the players, thus lowering the need to play lower tiers/premium ships/premium account, and isn't that already most used argument against lowering repair cost? Oh, and they won't have significant amount of credits inside, i bet it would be mostly random flags, consumables or camos, which do very little for economy. Again, the problem is that "-" on the end of the battle. It means, you are actually punished for the playing. And often not even for bad playing. How i would see from today PoV, what needs to be done: 1. Get back the lowered repair cost event. Like right now. To act as a stopgap measure until new mechanics are implemented. 2. Then we need to see how the WG will implement new rules about tanking, spotting and whatnot else. This need to be tested very thoroughly, and not rushed. 3. Then the lowered repair cost can be removed, and because economy balancing can be don much beter with more variables in the new system, as long as the overall level will stay at the level of -25%/-40% of current repair cost. ONLY THEN COULD THE ACTIVE PLAY BE REWARDED and passive camping and afking not. It could also allow for removing the accursed "battle" button tax. Again, the skill level for geting even should be way less than it is now, at the average player level. I think this is reasonable, if we want to reward good play and punish bad play, the new system will just give WG way better tools to do it, but the basic treshold still need to be lowered. And the boxes? The boxes are not part of the regular economy, mere fact of their inconsistency scream they can't be. They can only be bonus, not included in the economy equations. If WG want to make them part of the economy, it would be better for all of us if they were just abandoned as an idea before showing up. -

Dostałem Team Killer i chyba moja przygoda z WOWS skończy się Banem?
Vanhal replied to kair4's topic in Nowi gracze

Is WG taking into account the "RealLifeTime (TM)" requirement to successfully fulfill the weekly "Boot Camp" mission?

Well, i thought the boot camp is achievable until the DD weekend screwed MM...- 34 replies

Vanhal replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
With this particular mission the problem is synergy. Hit 25 citadels. While at the same moment other mission is "win 10 times on DD". So almost half the ships in batlle do not have citadels at all. Plus all that German BB's that have very shy citadels that don't mostly show themselves.- 34 replies

World of Battleships - what are Cruisers players currently doing?
Vanhal replied to IanH755's topic in General Discussion
More like DD mission. Hard to get in a battle without 5 DD per side today. -

And that would be most probably even before the ranked start. Totally not the cash grab for free-xping to the Edinburgh. -
Yeah, number of Kamikaze clubbers visibly increased last few days. Still, MM is slowly being back to the normal i think.

New "Ranked" season announced on Asian server...
Vanhal replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Blah, tier VIII. Blah. Couldn't they do tier 5-6 all the way just once? Would totally play this in the era of rampant uptiering for those tiers. Maybe that's why they halved the radar cooldown. They still don't want to restrict DD by MM so they are experimenting with weird things. At least not BB's, right? Right? Anyway, when i go to ranked i almost always play cruiser anyway - shortest waiting in queue. And all this talking about Kutuzovs and Atagos, but i bet the most numerous tier 8 cruiser overall will still be the most numerous cruiser in ranked - Mogami. Oh, one more thing. It will be most probably after the RN premiere. So get your wallets and burn those dubs for free XP. Also, we might see the Prinz Eugen for all the wehraboos and weeaboos wet dreams. -
High Tier Economy: Dev says there will be no reduction of repaircost, but it will be offset in the near future by the lootboxes...
Vanhal replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
That's more or less how i view this too. The boxes automatically invite images of lots of games which abuse this system to squeeze the money from players with poor selfcontrol. And no wonder, because in its core this system is pure gambling with all its effects. Now, because we don't know basically nothing about WoWs boxes, i can't say they will be the worst possible version. I expect them to be closer to AW boxes, which isn't actually that bad, as AW boxes are nice, albeit minor bonus. But the mere presence of boxes, even if they will be totally clean and harmless bonus will invoke the bad images of those more abusive versions. And God forbit they would actually sell them for cash or doubloons, because then they would basically BE the abusive version. All that aside though, this thread is not about the boxes per se. It's abut the ridiculous proposition that "degrading, clumsy, shallow mechnic", that could be seriously abusive if handled wrong or treated as income source, can be reliable fix to long standing problem with core and basic game economy defect! No, it can't, ever. At most it could be the nice bonus. Way better, even if not entirely solving solution was already tested on the live servers, and it worked. Only to be discarded now... -

That's complete nonsense. They said same thing over year ago when zulu flag was supposed to fix economy problems. Well, it didn't. Boxes won't fix it too. -

Please be more rude like you used to, don't be shy. Of course i would want Yamato-smasher at tier 1! Why even bother to understand a little

That's actually nice idea. Always in favor of rewarding instead of bashing and punishing.

For me it's extremely uniteresting (except the Operation Chariot before you ask, i meant ingame), because: 1. It's a destroyer. 2. It's basically Wickes 3. Only 2 guns at once. 4. Long torp reload 5. Half of the Wickes launchers On the other hand, it's interesting because: 1. It's obtainable after resonable mission set. I just wish i could put more in the second list.
