For all anime people out there! Ive found a new series for you!
Vanhal replied to smiffe's topic in Off-Topic
Well, i thought Arpeggio was not very good, but KanColle as anime (and probably everything else) is just friggin dreadful. -
Want to test your knowledge IJN classes?

28/29 No idea about number 23. And that Fuso question WAS a little misleading.- 16 replies

Most of those ships are not comparable to those ingame, even as tier I. Some of the larger could possibly be in game in british tree. Also, no subs. BTW there is thread about polish ships already. BTW2. Those ships may not be top modern in the world by WW2 start but posting this in the Age of Sail section is a bit too much

The never-were modernisation of the Fuso class Batteships
Vanhal replied to Tzoli's topic in Warship Projects
Anything on this game forum will be related to game, that's the point. About real proposal, i don't think this could happen. Comparing to Nagato, those turret and guns would probably be too heavy for Fuso, unless ship's hull would be also reconstructed. Maybe 3x3 would be possible. Also, IJN would rather not fund expensive artillery development program in the moment their 8-8 plan was thrown into hiatus in such state that it was (i.e. huge losses due to unfinished hulls). -

Or premium version. Although probably pushed to tier 7 or 8 (depends on hp and armor, as it's guns are equal to 8 tier Amagi). -
This looks awesome and unique, it would be worth to have ingame (tier IX most likely). Also, it indeed reminds me a little of Andrei Popov's circular warships (well, not really ships themselves, but more of vision behind them).

And they sure did that for the lulz. No other reason as Bismarck was undamaged? Unsinkable? PS. You are like 3rd person with the same avatar...

A-140 series designs (Yamato class preliminary designs)
Vanhal replied to csatahajos's topic in Warship Projects
I don't know if any battleship project included 3 turret in superposition but Rodney certainly couldn't fire all his main guns at the enemy straight ahead, as blog said. All A140 projects i seen also didn't have that possibility. That's what i meant. Btw. Tzoli, nice Lego A140 on DA :) -

Quoting blog: "During the creation of the A140-J2, naval designers used a rather unusual guns layout scheme, which was proposed by the British after World War I and was first implemented on the battleships Nelson and Rodney. All three turrets were on the bow of the ship, which will allow the player to give a full volley, even reaching the enemy straight ahead." Seriously? -
Me too, or perhaps premium version.

That design should be a good reminder for WG to carefully think through every paper ship they plan to make

What's your favourite movie featuring a warship and why ?
Vanhal replied to Hanszeehock's topic in Off-Topic
Watching Arpegio i must say that ships are the least important part there. Zipang isn't completed and have slow and weird plot which is also illogical at the end. Battle of Midway there was amongst most disappointing anime scenes ever. And the series wasn't getting much better after that. -

Somehow i cannot imagine how seaplane tenders would works in this game. I mean, what they task would be with no offensive capabilities whatsoever. -
German Battlecruiser design (1928) - The next Pocket Battleship
Vanhal replied to Masterrix's topic in Age of Armour Warships
+1 from me. Looks a bit like Kongo class. Anyway, would be a good material for tier IV battlecruiser. -

That clip caused a strong feeling of cognitive dissonance in me.

If custom names will be allowed, we should have option to name ship of Admiral class "HMS Murphy", most influental admiral ever, in every navy
-
If Deutschland class would be counted as battleship, it should be at 3, at most 4 tier, because of their low armor, low displacement (so low hp i guess), few main guns of low caliber and unability to use torpedoes. If counted as cruiser, probably tier 5.

Almost the same, only it was my very first model. And even if i'm pretty sure i will hate it ingame, i still love the HMS Hood.

True ofc, but damn that NDA yet again And i still want Potemkin and Mikasa as tier 2 premiums. -
Worth noticing is novel titled "Tsushima" written by Frank Thiess in 1936 (according to wiki english title is "The Voyage of Forgotten Men").
