Carriers...in real life they are effective....
Vanhal replied to Sgt_Bones's topic in General Discussion
So that's why my battleship is reloading it's guns in 3 seconds. Except it's somehow not happening. Compared to indeed 10 times faster torps reload on high tier DD's, or way way faster than 10 times refueling and rearming of plane squadrons... In other words, not only realism but also just any even remote contact with realism is not relevant for balancing. -
What is better than bigger guns? More of them of course:
-
If i remember correctly from CBT this module was available on tiers IX and X. On the other hand premium Arkansas Beta on tier IV also can mount it. That torp are indeed intriguing. Could be nasty surprise to other BB's and even unlucky DD's. Especially considering shitty secondaries range. Reading that i actually started to regain some interest, possibly even big, as turret traverse is most painful and deterring thing for me in this class since like forever. Especially that it's been nerfed multiple times. WG clearly like to force our battleships to sail in straight lines (seriously, try maneuvers on New York, it's pure pain). No, i won't mount the turret upgrade, RoF reigns supreme.
-
Of course you are right, but remember than most IJN cruisers torps are borderline useless on middle-high tiers and WG numerous times said that they have worse stats than USN cruisers exactly because they have torps to "compensate". Poks. I rapidly start to lose interest. Could be some usual name like Moltke. most fitting, considering 3rd Reich would be Ludendorff

So DDs just got nerfed AGAIN? Hydroacoustic Search skill added to cruisers.
Vanhal replied to Figment's topic in General Discussion
That would be plausible if it was true. Unfortunately, we kinda don't see any balance changes to other classes (at least yet), so you can hardly say about "design attitude". And amount of whining on forum must reach absolute critical mass to get to WG and have some effect. This happened only twice - when aim-mod was blocked and when CV nerfs were canceled. This one here is not only very indirect nerf, but also incredibly minor, as that skill is basically useless. -
Most probably because balancing Tirpitz torpedoes.

Yet you post entire new thread to whine about it... -
EDIT: scratch this, this thread is pure troll feeding ground, i'm not taking part

And now it starts a new career as negrep farm.

Oj to owszem.

Yes i know what you meant. I just say that won't happen because most of the people play to fight and shoot, right now, the "cautious" end game happens almost never, even in the moment it is plausible. And the team having advantage also almost never back up from the fight. What i do often seen is when the people realise it will be a draw anyway, they just give up on further fight.
-
Without premium i guess you will earn more credits on Murmansk than Atago, as Murmansk is easier to play successfully and repair cost won't hamper the earnings even if you fail to do anything. Repair cost should be 0 (zero) on premium ships anyway.
-
You are really suggesting that borderline obscure feature most people don't even use is good reason to justify castrating of premium ships most important one?
-
Unless all your team are US BB's and all of enemy team are fast cruisers and destroyers, that's not going to happen. And if this happens, the Minekazes won't hide. Oh, they won't, the will eat you BB's (and we still are talking about the enemy superior numbers). And even in one on a million times it will happen as you said, that's too weird to even discuss seriously.
-
If you can't kill even one of few ships in such situation, you either: 1. Lost already, as the enemy have the advantage. No reason whatsoever for them not to push this advantage. 2. Deserve to lose. Well, i don't meant there are many draws, because there are not. But Every. Single. One. Is so infuriating that they need to be gone.
-
It is enough. What SHOULD be changed is the standard battle mode, just as domination was changed. NO MORE DRAWS.
-
Voted "no" on both: 1. It's obvious. 2. Since first question was about Bismarck, i assumed by "German Navy" OP meant Kriegsmarine. So also no, no one thought of it as the force that was able and should challenge the Royal Navy in decisive battle.

What class do you think is the most skill-demanding in general?
Vanhal replied to Mister_Greek's topic in General Discussion
If you are bad player, that's it. If you plan to achieve any success, there's positioning, need for precise movement, predicting everything at least 3+ minutes ahead, steel nerves under fire, repair management, not demolishing your own computer watching glacial turret movement. Shooting... Indeed, once you get how to lead shots it's little beyond that. Spray and pray. Certainly not the players fault though. Not exciting, being all about the defence. So my ranking is: 1. Battleships 2. Destroyers 3. Cruisers 4. Carriers -
Let's see: Indeed, no "realism" word, but the terms like "Looking down at history" and thus "having CVs being hard to take on with lone cruisers is kind of WAD" not to mention the entire context are speaking of what, science fiction? By history you mean the history of Narnia or Middle-Earth of course? And those flying camels would behave like real planes or turning on a dime like ingame ones? Not to mention instant squadron rearming & refueling. Short torpedo reloads. Maneuvers some ships can make. Invisible destroyers on 6 km. Short range of all guns, especially AA and secondaries. Short range of torps. Double scale of ships and rest of the world. Health points. Damage model. And so on. Good sir, what we have now is exactly flying camels and laser guns and slime missiles and pieces of cake. Just modeled and textured so it would resemble warships.
-
Same here. Myogi itself was worse, but the BB's got nerfhammered so much in 0.4.0 that overall it's way worse now.
-
I don't agree with you, only ships that can have real problem there are US BB, rest is ok. What i would like to change in maps: 1. More maps. Really we need many more of them, especially that they are kinda easier to make than WoT ones. 2. Redesign Ice Islands - remove half of the icebergs and spread the rest a bit more. 3. Shrink the islands on Fault line or spread them, this is not Maginot line. 4, MOST IMPORTANT, SO IN CAPITAL LETTERS - REMOVE THE SPLITTING OF THE TEAMS IN HOT SPOT. The map is kinda ok, but in every single battle one entire team roflstomps hallf of the other team, then the remaining half is doomed already. It's terribly boring, even when winning.
-
Also duds. Duds everywhere.
-
WAD? Maybe, but don't use "realism" keyword as it is always bullcrap in WoWs. Want realistic CV's? Let's give them realistic time of preparing strike for example. Or maybe 1000km x 1000km maps? And so on and on and on. Same about rest of the classes. Drop the "realism" act it's only being used to whine about desired buffs/nerfs.
