That means that at least Texas Double Ryujo Massacre has been eased a little.

BB accuracy buff on a gargantuan distance of up to 3 km? What a buff... Btw. point wasn't to buff BB against DD, for that we would need CA captains brain cells buff, so they don't yolo and pay attention to DD, killing which is their job (as opposite to HE hosing enemy BB's). Point was, RNG is ridiculous on close and medium range (on high range too, but that is to be expected).

A message directed to WG about 0.4.1 and Mods... is this really true?
Vanhal replied to Tsukotaku's topic in General Discussion
I see we are talking to the wall here after Ectar post. That's purely buying time before major shafting of the players. Nothing to add anymore, nothing to discuss. Sad so much people like to be shafted. Just remember this thread when you start whining about camos, lack of customization and poor UI. -

Well, they sometimes did. Under the water Except that apparently is "so simple". Mods were working? Yep. One mod was problem? Yep. Was it blocked? Yep. Is something similar happened since then? No. Rest of the mods still working? Yep. Voila, success. So it's another not answered question: not only "why obliterate all mods without exception", but also "why now"? -

Open for everyone? Check Real money for things? Check No future wipes? Check No complete overhauls of basic mechanics planned or even considered? Check Good sir, they could even call this apple pie, it's released already. -
That's why i say current attempt to force teamplay failed. WG is taking entire game backwards. They are punishing players. The better the player, the punishment is lesser, both in gameplay and in rewards. Instead they should try rewarding, the better the player, the more the rewards. It would perhaps lowered WG gains in short term, but it would be investment for the future. Which o believe they DO want, considering no one sane develops a game for almost four years just to squeeze it for few months and then discard.

I doubt it. Guys failing hard in their 30-so battles will still spew thier hate, no chance they failed because they don't know (possibly don't know "yet") how to play or because their enemy do know how to play (or RNG or bad luck, or Great Divine Murphy's intervention or whatever). No... it's because their enemy have The Advantage. They obviously Cheat, dem basterds. And every mod = cheat, magical JMSDF flag gives +20% to aim and starting screen with ponies eliminates lag. Still +1 to OP for quixotic attempt to educate.

In other words, they don't give a crap. Some of them later wondering why the cruisers repay them in exact same manner. The flow of karma...

Well, AP is not exactly easy to use nowadays. This, combined with overwhelming punishment dealt to them by HE and fires, is most likely driving new and inexperienced players to use HE. It is mistake of course, but at least that one is understandable. And yes, tier 6 still can be inexperienced, especially when the 3-4 tier experience is horrible and misleads people to the real purpose and proper use of BB's.

Another one. Explain how the flag or texture mod, installed on my client, which you would not seen at all, will make it bad for you. Explain how mods give "unfair" advantage in game having different classes, maps, modules, various premium things and so on. About a small price to pay, it's not small, it is very. very big, permanently closing huge alley of creativity, which is especially important in slowly developed games like this -

No problem. Now we just sit and wait (and sharpen the pitchforks perhaps). About historical flags i do believe in the EU only Germany bans nazi symbols (except strictly educational use). For other example, in Poland symbols used in historical context is fully legal, including historical books, games, and so on. Spreading totalitarian ideology is illegal. Though there are no definition of such in law. Enforcing this is also almost nonexistent, as there was a case when neonazis publicly used nazi salute and greeting, and the judge said it was... roman one. So indeed there is whole different issue. That's why i said at least part of the mods cannot be on-approval base, because they would never pass. Getting JMSDF flag on my client, not to be seen by anyone else should be possible. As said before, this would castrate history mods. I want historical banners and symbols and they would never pass the approval procedure. In the case of mods needing approval from WG would be nice to make some compromise - purely eye candy mods would be unlimited, but more complicated, like the flashes need the aproval. Income stream from mods. We have it already, its called camos. Selling mods would be bad. Bad, bad, bad. Just like it happened recently with Skyrim. Man, that was global epic shithurricane. -
That would be some "nice" pay-to-win. We need global nerfing of fire for everyone, no more kerosene-coated battleships, destroyer-shaped fireworks storages and viking funeral cruisers.

Matchmaker? Gold consumables? Flags? Omaha vs Furutaka? Not advantageous? You can always say the Furutaka player to play Omaha. Or someone infuriated by a mods could always find the mods and see this overwhelming unfair advantage. Without any advantages you could play in chess. Scratch it, white alwys start first, it's so unfair... Like what? Name that "most". For example, there are currently 93 mods in Aslain's pack. Waiting for 47 "broken" names from you. See, that's the whole problem i've been getting on. I've really dont have nothing against banning mods that are giving advantage. No really, you can even take the minimaps mods, or crosshairs if you are so stingy. Although i also don't have anything against aim mods and so on, i'm not so unsure of my own skill, not interested enough to make the competing in a game any significant part of my goals. So, once again, this time with big obvious letters, maybe some people will get it finally, although it's most probably hopeless. What i am strongly against is "all mods are bad" attitude, and equalizing cosmetic mods with warpack. When done by players, it's ignorace or bigotry. When done by WG it's almost criminal show of negligence or gross admission of their own impotence to have been unable to do what basically all other game companies do without saying - policing their own turf. Next, about supposed BS. It's not BS, skill to search info on internet is valid skill in games, be it searching for mods, or ship data (also unavailable in unmodded client) or "how to play" youtube instructions. All of them don't do anything, only provide player with additional info. Bad player with all the mods in the universe will stay bad. Good player will be even better. And the last: "In my opinion any step to make unwanted mods more dificult to make and maintain is a good one. But WG should give (at least the current mod makers) the oppertunity to maintain their mods. It should be reasonable if WG gives them the tools to do this. But make it that way that every mod identifies the modmaker. So if the mod shows unwanted information WG can contact the mod maker." To that i can fully agree. Best possible solution to the mod problem would be having client not vulnerable to datamining, but having OFFICIAL MOD TOOLS. Mods would be produced without need to approve, but with few guidelines CLEARLY STATED in tools EULA. Although it would still need a bit of greyzone about historical mods, like the case of IJN banner. Not having even possibility to have history in historical game is not good. -
Oh, no, no! MODS!!! Those give such unfair advantage! BAN ALL MODS! ALL OF THEM!!! NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!!

Ah, finally something to talk about. So that was a scam after all, good. Not that it wasn't totally obvious from the trolling and that fake clip. Yes, what you say is most likely true, and i never denied the need to prevent cheating, even though calling that puny aim mod "cheat" is just gross, as it did not have even 1/10 of the impact everyone is attributing to it. Although if it cause such severe shitstorm, removing it was more or less necessary (would be good if WG heard some other feedback too, but that's another story). Even in WoT all that crap everyone is so heated about are not cheats. Unless it's deliberately CREATES new info or modify the server info (that would be hack) or something like that. Most of them just show the data that is getting to the client and players were using them anyway with their biological senses, be it concious or not. This of course leads to lessen the difference coming from skill players and while it do gives an advantage, it's not really unfair. Especially that WG is doing same thing with their MM (it do pull players to 50%, which i actually also don't think as very bad thing, other games also tend to equalize players to certain levels, even though the do it different, various ELO and other rankings included) and various premium advantages. Believe me, no amount of mods can make as big difference as gold ammo, in the meaning of basically removing one of the most important mechanics, armor. Not to mention mods are actually more fair, being free and available for all. Getting premium ammo for credits actually worsened the balance, making everyone and their grandma shoot premium ammo in randoms while it was very rare before, thus effectively nerfing armored vehicles to the ground. But, it's mostly offtop. What is not offtop, is that "ban ALL mods" is unresonable stance, represented by unresonable people who use mostly liver instead of brain in discussion. AND WG APPARENTLY AGREE WITH THE CROWD? While i have absolutely nothing with "trying to control that" with "that" means banning undesirable mods, encrypting all files means that all of the mods are undesirable... That's when i strongly disagree. Innocent until proven guilty, not the other way. -
A dlaczego akurat Potiomkin? No i miałem kiedyś wielki kartonowy model właśnie tego okrętu, więc nostalgia

... when playing in a BB, your teammates cruisers go in either full yolo mode or full coward mode. Shortly after, your 20 kn BB is forced into unwinnable duel with Minekaze (unless the minekaze captain have IQ of table leg). ... you move to support/shield/otherwise help your struggling allies, drawing enemy fire to yourself, just to see them immediately run to the other side of the map. ... after very hard, nervewracking, but immensely satisfying combat with numerically superior enemy, which are now sinking to the bottom, you secure the flank by (almost) yourself, you look at the minimap and see that the rest of your team was raped by 3 enemy ships, and you ultimately lose. ... when i got a draw. I hate draws. Long live domination mode.

Any news on when the skillships will be nerfed? (CVs)
Vanhal replied to fenrirspup's topic in General Discussion
Funny, BB (especially those with poor maneuverability and even worse turret traverse) also lose tons of dps (like 2-5 salvoes, depending on exact situation), when they start to react when TB are 8 km and closing. Even when they ultimately attack someone else. Yet you still tell them to do that as universal panaceum for TB attacks and it's suddenly ok (leaving aside success probability of such maneuvers, as it not the point here)? But, by all means, i also like when people makes themselves easy targets by sailing in long straight lines, my 356mm guns and even bigger torps tremble with joy. And what i like the most is when carrier makes straight attacks, especially on lower tiers (when CV's have very good detection values). He basically shouts "I AM HERE!!!". So much less trouble to find and do the disinfestation, especially in cruiser. -
