Apparently the "HotFix" for some of the most burning v0.8.0 CV (and other) issues is coming very soon!
BrusilovX replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I think most DD players learnt the hard way in the past (unless they were an AA spec DD) to turn off the AA using the 'P' key. I'm not sure with the current version of the CV rework that really matters as planes can have RPF which will help them locate DDs. The planes seem to cover more distance quicker now so they have a better chance of spotting a DD even without RPF on the plane. I used to be able to dodge planes in my IJN DDS - I'm not so sure I can do this now. -

Maybe, what WG should have done is to announce that the first two weeks after the patch was released would be a 'test realm' and not run ranked or any other 'competitive' gameplay (not that there are CVs in ranked or CB). Maybe offer premium time for all players for those two weeks and allow them to retain any progress made. While I am sure many players would still not be happy at least some may benefit. This would at least give WG the numbers of players and games that they would have an idea (maybe) or what was right/wrong with the changes. -

I played WoT from the closed beta and bought the medium and heavy packages of the 'never ever to be available again tanks' only for WG to out them on sale after a year or two. They withdrew them in less than 24 hours. However, you can now buy them (or you could I've not played yet alone looked at the WoT premium shop) them again. The Blizzard announcement was pretty funny to watch - the stunned silence of the really happy announcers when the 'sales blurb' met the proverbial silence and blank look from the audience. -

It just seems crazy that WG ignored all the comments from testing and pushed ahead to release the CV rework. To me that illustrated the height of incompetence so anything else WG do would not come as a surprise. It almost sounds like marketing are dictating things rather than the developers of the game. -
Thanks - I've not played 'vanilla' for a long time and wasn't sure if it was part of the mod pack or not. If it's in vanilla then you can see which sector has priority although there is a lot of information on screen to keep track of.

I don't know which mod it is in Aslain's mod pack but the icon of the ship to the bottom left of the screen (which shows the direction etc that the ship is going) also has the sector that is selected shown in green.

I reinstalled Aslain's mod after the recent patch but now the results screen is messing up. The first menu seems to have had the top move upwards and the details are off the screen. More often than not the second screen (team results) just has what looks like an exclamation mark on it (large sized) and the other two screens (detailed report and credits/XP don't display any details). Usually, I close the results and I can see the detailed report but only the ships and damage shown but no details underneath. Ia anyone else having any similar graphical glitches?

Is part of Aslain's mod messing up the results
BrusilovX replied to BrusilovX's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for that I will do so. I didn't select the better loading screen though. When I first noticed this the other day I did look on the forums (Aslain's) and there wasn't anything posted there at the time. -
Clanmembers exploiting/cheating in ranked battles
BrusilovX replied to NutsByNature's topic in General Discussion
You should be aware that attaching such a replay to a thread about players using exploits is also considered naming and shaming (as ForlonSailor has pointed out). I did the same a while ago and ended up getting warnings from the forum moderators. Also, while you have removed the names from the enemy team in the screen shots you've left the clan name clearly visible which I am fairly sure also is naming and shaming. You've not edited anything on the DM Donskoi. -
Post your PC specs - if no-one knows what you're running on it's hard to offer advice. The standard things to do is to ensure that there are minimal Windows services and applications running.

I bought my Yubari as one of the pre-release packages and the only time I played it for a year or so was to get rid of the snowflake. But I make no apologies for my Nicholas which again was only played recently to get rid of the snowflake. I used to be proud of the high tier captain but I only realized they are only tier 12 (it is the only ship I use with that captain and I've never used elite XP on him).

most unsignificant and unimmortant ship is? !!
BrusilovX replied to remenberMYname's topic in General Discussion
Should that not be 'insignificant'? -
Even if it's a really bad premium ship never sell it as you may get it back again in a Supercontainer. I sold a Krasny Krym a while ago and in one of the Xmas boxes I had last year it came back just like a boomerang. At least this time I did play in in co-op to redeem the snowflake. Edited: I make no apologies for posting the above in multiple threads that mention selling premiums. Mind you at least now you can get dubloons back for a premium CV.

I think one of the problems is that the AA is so inconsistent. It seems as if no AA spec ship do better than AA specced ships. Is this down to players with the AA spec not changing the sector that the AA is most effective or is it just RNG. In the following video iChase thinks RNG still has to much influence on the result
-
As there is no information on what tiers the OP Is playing and if they have a premium account it's anyone's guess as to why they are losing credits. Personally, it's only after I've bought several new T8 or T9 ships that I'm low on credits - but I do run a premium account and have a lot pf premium ships (some of which I do play).
-
On a game based on RNG and a wide variety on player skill - yes. You could have just have been against a skilled CV player and had bad RNG (or they had good RNG as well).

To the person who approved the CV changes...
BrusilovX replied to idkwidlol123's topic in General Discussion
No they think it's interesting and when they wake up sober it's more like "WTF".. -
Quititng after a single game seems a bit excessive. Maybe try more before you uninstall? I'd try at least two...... If you don't like the CV play head off to ranked or scenario battles as there aren't CV in either (although there is an AI CV in Narai the operation that was running yesterday).

COMMUNITY REMINDER: 2 days left to farm Dynamo (or Cherry) before they're gone
BrusilovX replied to NicramDuel's topic in General Discussion
I think if you do that there are times that torps are coming from everywhere as the planes are still around and the small boats can appear from multiple directions. I've had a couple of bad games where I am the lead ship after we got through the minefield. -
Is that when they reboot the severs or have maintenance (assuming they've been working and the hamsters haven't been on the vodka)?

Le Terrible - Available To Rent For 7 Days
BrusilovX replied to Strapps's topic in General Discussion
It would be far easier for the payer base if WG actually proof-read the articles before they were published. This may ensure that all the information that players need to make a choice is available to them when they first see the item. -
I think it comes down to a person with a disability may be doing the best they can with their abilities be it sight or movement related. A bad player that simply can't be bothered to understand the game mechanics or the type of game play (caps in a domination game if they are in a DD) is another matter - it's a bit like a goalie in a football (soccer) game wearing a blindfold or only playing with one arm. I do understand that the outcome may be the same, however, for me it's down to "is that player doing the best they can for the team"?

Poll: Will you keep playing the game after v.8.0 goes live?
BrusilovX replied to Jean_Bart's topic in General Discussion
I'm going to play on but I will see how gameplay after the CV rework is like. I do play a lot of DDs and some of the higher tier rocket planes just look too OP (a CV that likes to park planes over a DD at the moment will seem minor compared to some of the videos I've watched). I may be forced to start playing CVs if it becomes WoCV. -
Blue-on-blue torpedo situations
BrusilovX replied to DDMafiaAssociateMember's topic in General Discussion
There are insufficient reports available at the moment. It would be possible that the target of poorly fired torps would not be able to report the bad play simply because the target has no more reports left. I'm in the "your torps your, responsibity" group here. I've had a number of cruisers fire off salvos of torps from the second line and I've been hit and taken lots of damage - sometimes as a DD you've been spotted and need to get out of sight ASAP or you're trying to dodge a torp spread. There has never been an apology from these players. Have I hit friendlies with torps? Yes, once or twice. In-game I immediately apologize to the player for my bad play and if I don't get a chance I will contact them after the game and give the same grovelling apology.
