  1. I don't know if it's part of Aslain's Mod Pack but there is already a filter in place for showing premium ships in port.

Incoming Compensation for Server Down Time

There doesn't appear to be any information on how to claim this (I know it's going to be on Monday from the article).

    WoWS MM at it's finest

    At least I wasn't in a cruiser:

    WoWS MM at it's finest

There wasn't even ant TIXs to shoot at - just everything apart from the Alabamma was a TX. I believe I'm also at a range disadvantage.

Exeter: Why is there only an "ADMIRAL PACK" ?!

I was tempted but then I don't need to have the 'bloatware' nor the 10 point captain. Also what they intend to do with the GC (uptier to T6) is another reason. Who wants to spend real money on something that WG can change whenever they want to.

    Problems with the server

If you look at the other threads on this you will see it's still down.

    SERVER DOWN !!!!

I had a couple of battles earlier and took a short break only to find that I had been disconnected. Just as well as it's a free game.....

    This new "Whoosh" sound!

i also went looking in the options to see if it was possible to reduce the noise of these interface (?) sounds. It seems I am not the only one.
  10. The Musashi and Krohnstadt were both removed as part of patch 0.8
  11. The other thing 'out there' is that if the Alaska performs too well it may be moved to T10....... The spectre of what WG want to do with the Guilo Cesare should be in the back of anyone who is thinking about paying hard cash to possess it.

    Blacklist useless?

I think one of the main reasons behind the 'no naming and shaming' (not matter how much it's deserved) is that WG are trying to prevent bullying. As has been mentioned in this thread it's not that hard to photoshop images to show something that did not happen. Replays are the way to go but you can't post a replay of such behaviour as that is also considered 'naming and shaming'. The only thing to do is to raise a ticket wit support and attach the replay - you will probably just get a 'cut and paste' response about the automated system

Should I skip a ship in the jap line?

Until the fairly recent buff the Izumo was a choice ship to skip past - I've yet to get that far as I'm still using the Amagi. However, with the recent buff to the Izumo it's supposed to be a very powerful ship now. If you have lots of Free XP simply use it when you've unlocked a ship to upgrade it with all the possible upgrades. The other thing to do with your Free XP is to hang onto it for the next T9 Free XP ship (If it's one you want) as they are generally good credit earners. Edited: Getting 1m Free XP may seem a long way to go with only 100K at the moment but it does accumulate over time. Once you've finished grinding several lines you need to find a use for Free XP.

Why do people dislike T10 and choose lower tiers?

Well, even when you've unlocked the Legendary Module you could still play the T10 ships until you get the 'bonus for the win of the day' along with any elite commander XP (although there must be a point where you have all the 19 point captains you could ever need).

Penalty for players rushing to their death

I also find it frustrating when playing a DD and the support ships (CAs and BBs) are all hiding behind hard cover and can't fire at what I spot including ships in the cap I'm trying to contest - not all players do that must there is an awful lot of them that do.

    Beta tester insignia?

I think to get the beta tester tag you had to do 'n' battles in the last months of the beta. So, if you had been active for a while during the beta but then were not active in the closing periods you miss out, I'm fairly sure they had something similar in WoT.
  17. While a T8 ship when matched a T10 ship will usually lose out it's still able to cause damage to the higher tier ship. You're not expected to be able to win such a battle but it is possible with good angling and RNG. In battle the T8s aren't expected to take on the T10s on their own - they should be supporting the T10s - although there can be problems with that at extreme ranges that some BBs have. Edited: I've been in battles in a T8 and the only other T8 was a cruiser and the rest (BBs, CAs and DDs) were all T10s. It wasn't fun but at least I wasn't in the cruiser (there have also been games where the CVs are also T10s).

    The Odd Man Out

No problem - welcome to the dark side! I don't think it's been addressed yet but capping is or was a major function for a DD - or at leas it was until the CVs can now put a seemingly endless number of planes over the cap (not that they were not able to make a DDs life very tough by leaving planes over a DD before the rework). Also radar - try and get an idea of the various radar ranges (which are going to be changed soon) and look at the team lists when you start and probable places the radar ships will park up. When in the cap don't sit broadside but bow or stern on. This makes you a smaller target for torps (which you may not know about until they are very close). Also, if you are in the cap make sure you know where the nearest island is so if you are radared you can get under hard cover ASAP. If you do get radared just try and move around and put distance between you and how ever many ships are firing on you. Also in partially obscured caps try ans keep an eye out for where the exits are as grounding in full view of the enemy isn't something to do very often. I try and not smoke up in the cap as it obscures your view of what may be approaching. This also means that any ship trying to support you will not have a view of any target unless something else can spot it - if you're in a DD with good stealth and a friendly DD is also in the cap but doesn;'t have good health they can smoke up and you can stay in the open. If you do smoke up in the cap try and spread the smoke out and move around a bit inside the smoke. I've seen DDs smoke up in a small area and it's just asking for a torp spread or random shelling, Some DDs will have hydro which can be used to spot torps when in smoke - it's fairly short range but it can give you time to move out of your way. Also don't forget that some players like to send torps from the 'second line' so you need to be aware of any such problems. When you fire tops make sure that they won't go anywhere near a friendly - "your torps your problem". As you get to higher tiers the torps can range up to 20km which is a very long way on some maps.

    The Odd Man Out

I watched the replay and the comments I thought about are reflected in the two posts above. As a IJN DD your main weapon is stealth and torps - try to not get spotted as you can then get into positions to fire torps when they are least expecting it (even if they have RPF). You were spotted several times when there was no need to have been. Firing the first set at the Hood going away was a waste of a set of torps - not that at that time were there any more targets around. Getting too close to the Geneisneau was a mistake - especially as it could be a ship with decent secondaries - while they may not do a lot of damage they can set you on fire which as a DD is a pain. It also alerted the player that you were on the flank and they should have been expecting torps from you. The last engagement with the Hood - I would have gone to the left to still be in advance of it rather than behind it if it survived the encounter with you and the Scharnhorst. It would have kept you closer to the action As an IJN DD I tend to rarely use smoke myself but use it for my team mates - it does give away your position though but it can help them especially if they stop firing so the spotting bloom reduces.and they can go undetected. Ask in chat if they want it or at least warn them that you are going to lay down some smoke for them. It can make the difference between them lasting a bit longer in the game.

    The Odd Man Out

As others have said it's a bad time to start playing DDs - I've virtually stopped playing them at the moment only taking out the USA DDs and the IJN Harekaze (for the LOLS). At the moment you not only seem to be spotted most of time by planes it's unrelenting - not that pre CV change it wasn't possible to be perma-spotted at leas then the CV had a finite number of planes to put overhead. The one problem with trying out a DD in Co-Op is that the AI don't act like human player - they just push on and don't try and avoid contact with a DD. The result is that as a DD player in Co-Op (doing it for the missions in some DDs) is that you need to keep your distance by kiting away as quite often the ships chasing you are faster than you (especially in a IJN DD).

I think we need another FREE captain RESPEC.

I think a number of players have stated this before including myself.

    DevBlogWoWs: CV Changes and Roadmap

I agree with that - it's a huge pain in the rear when this happens. I look back with fond memories of messages from the CV players -"I'm out of planes".....

    aslain modpack suddenly ban

I use Aslain's mod pack and I've not been banned - just been in the game as well. While I've read many posts like the OPs on various forums over the years it is possible that a 'false positive' has been triggered (this has happened before in other games). However, in that situation, I'd expect more players to have been banned for the same reason although the 'ban wave' may just be starting or it's some other software on the PC that is not part of the game install. The only thing for the OP to do is to raise a ticket with Customer Support but has already been stated in this thread that they won't give details of what triggered the ban (because hackers then know what to try and hide). Edited: I've not received any email warning.

    Report system needs rework

I presume that if a player continually clicks on the map or repeatedly issued map commands then they may be reported for a chat violation although nothing will stop players pinging the map (if they haven't been destroyed yet). I don't for one minute suggest that the OP was doing either of these. The problem is that WG think that the automated system is sufficient. I think many regard it is not (players abusing it for 'reasons').
  25. I'm not sure exactly how long after the 'CV Patch' was released that I heard or read about the planes not spotting torps. anymore. I think it was probably on one of the YouTube videos I've watched since then.
