It's going to be a slow and painful grind to get the captains back to the level of performance they have at the moment. How much resources you spend to do that is up to the individual. I've got between 702 and 1500 of each of the special flags and around 1.3M elite commander XP so I could use the elite commander XP to get one commander to 21 and save the flags for a rainy day....

Veteran players have varying numbers of premium ships. Some have been bought but others have been gained by playing various campaigns over the years that they've played the game - spending hundred or thousands of hours to do so. You seem to expect that you should have the same as a new player? I don't know of any game that allows that. A captain can be assigned to any premium ship for the country that the captain belongs to without having to be retrained for that ship - so you could use a German captain for each of the classes (so long as they were premium ships). There are some captains that can be used for USA/Russia - again unlocked through campaigns. So, do you think all the 'veteran players' had all these captains and ships from the first day they played WoWS?? They've all gone through the grind that you are going through. As I've pointed out before - the introduction of flags has made progression easier.

It's a matter of economy - use the flags to get a couple of captains to 21 points and then use the elite XP to get more to 21 - without flags if needs be. I still have some lines where I don't have a 19 point captain (Italian CA and BB), French (BB) and Pan Asian (CA and BB). The alternate is to save flags by not playing.......

Have a read of one of the threads on the captain rework - for some builds it seems that an existing tier 19 captain would need to be a tier 21 captain to operate the same - I think it's supposed to take 1.2 million XP for that to happen. The veteran players do have numerous tier 19 captains. Basically, most players will be screwed. Also, the implementation of special flags means that the speed for improving captains progress is now a lot faster than it was before.

It's a shame they don't have a proper test server to try out such things. Then again WG have introduced changes to the game in the past that the CCs and testers told them would not work. I'm sure the 'magic spreadsheet' has the answers!

Some players just have good statistics - either because they are good players or they've always played in divisions (and are decent players). You've also ignored the fact that WoWS used to have a number of decent operations for tiers 6 to 8 which used to give decent rewards so players would then play in them rather than suffer in randoms or co-op (which wasn't as rewarding as it is now). The operations were withdrawn due to the CV rework and any have not returned and those that have returned have had the rewards neutered. What I'd like to know is how poorly did you play at TVIII before you 'got better'. I'm not sure how long you've been playing as you've hidden your stats but the game has been running for a quite a few years already. It's no longer the game it was on release.

WG clearly want 'fresh blood' to play WoWS and they are doing their upmost to upset the existing player base out of the game. They, probably, are amazed that the CV rework etc hasn't done this already. I thought the introduction of subs was going to be the end of the road for me but this change looks like it's done the job on me - fancy having to get another 2 captain tiers to maintain the existing performance of a 19 point captain.

How do you know that they were seal clubbing? Maybe, they just followed the advice that they gave to you - learn the game before going to the higher tiers. Also, it's far easier to progress in the current game as the special flags haven't always been in the game.

No, as others have already posted - you need to spend even more money to get the flag which doesn't affect the performance in any way!

I think the OP is one of those people that made companies put warnings on coffee lids that 'contents may be hot' (and tried to sue because the coffee was hot).

Somehow I've still got 582 days left. I always thought that subs may be the final nail in the coffin for me playing this game but hearing about that captain rework (where for some builds a 21 point captain will perform the same as a 19 point captain) may well beat subs. It's a no from me this year.

I agree - the Vermont's guns make the grind to there worthwhile although a painful process (imagine a Colorado at T8/T9).

It's an eye-opener the first time it happens but after that it's just annoying (and could be decisive in keeping you alive - that's happened at least once).

For me the major difference was that the Legendary Modules were gained through a standard grind while the new Unique Upgrades are gained through a re-grind of the line. I don't mind a grind but I do not enjoy a re-grind.

I think there is a need for a guide for the use of google translate. The opening post is difficult to understand.

There have been a number of threads where it's been mentioned that the guns don't fire for some reason. It's happened to me and the first thing I looked at was the ping and that wasn't the problem. While it can happen at crucial points in a battle if the battle comes down to one salvo then it's too close.
