I prefer my HSF Harekaze over the Cossack (I have both).
-
I only played the ship once in Co-op and I found it underwhelming (I got it in a crate) as the reload is so slow and the DD drives like a bus with a flat tyre or two. I'm not really a fan of DTs either - but that is just one more problem when facing an enemy DD.

Italian T4 BB Dante Alighieri EA for Prime Users only!

Did you remember to put a captain on it? I almost forgot for another line and it did ask me if I wanted to enter the battle without a commander... -
I though I'd avoid the standard 'vodka haze' as a suggestion on the behind the scenes decision making process at WG. I did the same - someone posted a link to the web page where you could reset all captains.
-
Some of the recommended skills are a bit strange - I'm sure I was shown 'last stand'' for a BB.

Yeeeaah!! My first 21 pointer!!!
BrusilovX replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
Did you use credits to retain a portion of the dismissed captain's XP? I have quite a few of the 'comic' commanders (10 pointers I believe) that I could do this to. I already have Lutchens as a 21 pointer as I already had 1.2M+ Elite XP for that purpose - most of the lines already had a 19 point captain so I was saving it that way. -
The results of that survey were already written and won't be changed.

The WG Bank card for us to pay even more

Bet they have at least one hole in them. Edited: Or when you 'pull the trigger' nothing happens at random (like the guns/torps don't fire bug). -
Proof WG did this rework for profit not balance.

All the skills of your captains have been replaced
BrusilovX replied to 22cm's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for that link it's useful. I logged in this morning and my 19 point captain on the USA BB line (Montana) now has one free skill point. I guess I'll just reset all my captains and worry about it later. I hope this doesn't reset which ship they are trained on though. -
Santa Container advertising was against the law - decision from CARO

If you grow up there you learn how to cope. There used to be lots of bush around in Scarborough where we used to play and we never saw one snake - we did see plenty of goannas (harmless lizards). The only time I was worried about the wild life was the nesting season for Magpies (birds). They used to aggressively swoop at us if we got close to some trees. I think on one occasion I put my bicyle over me on the ground as protection. Sharks were never a problem - there used to be spotter planes around. No nets to keep them out of the swimming areas like they have in the Eastern States. I moved back to the UK in 1989 for work and travel (I used to be a crazy motorsports fan). I went back to Perth in 1993 (F1 race in Adelaide), 1995 (last F1 race in Adelaide) and 1997 (F1 race in Melbourne). I found the flies really bad - I went to the local race track (Waneroo) and bought some food to eat - I had to sit in the car to eat it as there were less flies then.. -
I'd like to point out we've not seen Russian/Soviet CVs yet - given what WG have done to the BBs and CAs it's up to your imagination how powerful these 'paper ships' will be - probably CVs from the 1980s with Jets, guided missiles etc
-
So, it's really just another CV buff?

Must be fairly bad in a country that used to sell 'golden passports'. To think our family was thinking of emigrating to Cyprus or Australia in the 1960s. My parents chose right - Perth (WA). -

Or they didn't get one. Makarov Lima to be released soon and then Makarov Black next Xmas. Will any one be around to notice though? Edit: Forgot to mention HSF Makarov and ARP Makarov.....- 27 replies

The Windows Event Viewer isn't easy to use as even on a new system there are quite a few errors and warnings. I think you can avoid the ones that appear regularly at boot up time that don't happen around a crash. I'd start with the following details and look for any critical errors around the time of the last crash.
-
If it's a regular crash it may be one of several things 1) Memory Leak 2) PC overheating 3) GPU overheating As a starter I'd remove all mods and see if the game continues to crash regularly. Have a look at the Windows 'Event Viewer' to see if that is flagging any critical errors.

I think the qualification for the alpha (the OPs request) and beta (I think you were after that) are different. I seem to recall that for beta you had to be active over a certain period which was towards the end of the beta. So, if you were active from the start of the beta but not at the end you missed out.

I presume WG want less people to play so they get less negative feedback?
-
I wonder if you already have the Anshan the reward will be a Makarov....

which mods and functions that should be default and why?
BrusilovX replied to SkollUlfr's topic in General Discussion
I'd suggest (as mentioned by Gebbly) to use the mod that gives a timer of how much time is left in the game - it takes into account the cap progress. I was going to find the name in Modstation but it's updating along with Game Centre at the moment. I used to use Aslain's mod but switched to the official Modstation as that seems to be updated quicker than Aslain's (also there should be no question about legality of mods in the official mod pack). Edited: In the Modpack it's called Score Timer and is available on the third last tab. -
The Game Center can pre-download the patch prior to the release date - it means that there should be reduced load on the sever.

How to play Replays? Opens Game Centre instead of game
BrusilovX replied to Cirrus4000's topic in General Discussion
This problem was reported a short while ago (a week or two) on the forum. I was wondering what they were referring to so I tried to 'drag and drop' the replay file onto the game exe (not the center exe). All that happened was the Game Centre launched! I then did the same but with the Game Centre already started and was able to watch the replay OK. Makes me wonder what they're doing at times! -
That sounds optimistic to me. So long as there are players with lower stats than you it's always possible to get worse - especially if you're unwilling to lean the game mechanics (which is what you should have sorted out at the lower tiers). However, you have it in your head that this is all caused by more experienced players 'seal clubbing' you.
-
You assume that if an experienced player has a lot of mid-tier games they've all been done as seal clubbing? Many experienced players have played a lot of mid-tier battles in order to learn the mechanics before going to higher tiers (where a bad play should be punished). I know there was seal clubbing a while ago with the TIV IJN CV - I believe WG either stopped that or nerfed that CV (I've only recently played some TV to get rid of the snowflakes and some achievements). Players will always take advantage of such things - but all you needed to do that was a TIV CV - not very hard to do. The advice to play at lower tiers is to get the new players to learn how to play each ship class - the lessons learnt there (not sitting broadside for instance) may keep them in the game for longer at higher tiers rather than being the first to die because of bad play or the last to die because they sailed to a map corner and sniped.
