For me the biggest problem with the DWTs is that they are useless against other DDs - so you''re slightly compromised in DD on DD action.

The first thing I do in games is to either mute or turn down to minimal in-game music. I am playing Lawrence of Arabia in the background though on my Blu-Ray player.

I have her already - I think it was my first Steel purchase.

I'm sitting on 864K coal at the moment so I'm looking for some new coal ships too.

What's the rationale behind -1 / + 1 match making?
BrusilovX replied to The_Angry_Admiral's topic in General Discussion
I've seen a T29 (the top tier in the battle) in a platoon with two tier 1 tanks All they did was get the tier 1 vehicles to keep firing at the T29 all battle and the T29 did not even bother to move (apart from swivel it's turret - there was no mission at the time either). Mind you I've also been in battles where a light platoon just decided to shoot me all battle. Then there is the classic "let's shoot the TOG II": -
I did the first time but the second time which did not work I had no extra characters in there. Still, it did work so I'm happy.

Thanks - for some reason I could not copy/paste this and had to type it in.

Soviet Destroyers advices for a New Player
BrusilovX replied to ziratulbihac's topic in General Discussion
As others have already stated until a CV or two decide to spoil your day. On top of that you will have to learn how to deal with radar (again one or multiple radar equipped ships - cruisers with some DD and BBs in the mix). -
XP Criteria: Just because you ticked the XP boxes doesn't mean you helped the team.
BrusilovX replied to The_Angry_Admiral's topic in General Discussion
The being ganged up on my one or more CVs helped kill the usefulness of DDs (not to mention the increased number of ships with radar). DDs were good for spotting the enemy ships now that seems to be the role of the CV. -
Never ever start buying premium ships

I've kept my Bismark and play it most days (in co-op). I do miss the torps from the Tirpitz at times though. -
The one they came up with for the Okt.Revolutsiya should come with a health warning. They have some awful camos out there - but I am sure someone out there likes them. I think you can hide some of the ARP fluro ones at least in-game.

I'd say the HSF Harekaze is one of the exceptions to the rule the OP suggested. I've never regretted buying that TVIII DD even when uptiered to TX. I also enjoy the Tirpitz just for the LOLs. -
WG thinks that it can get more money out of fancy camos and clone ships than it could get from operations - that is why a number were removed due to 'the CV rework' and they have yet to re-appear (despite the recent news - I will believe it when they finally do put some back).

@WG Please remove your ships from my garage
BrusilovX replied to ziratulbihac's topic in General Discussion
That requires thought. -
Are higher tier ships always this expencive to purchase?
BrusilovX replied to Karakzorn's topic in General Discussion
I disagree - these players existed even before WoWS was a thing. However, over time WoWS has become easier to grind with the economic changes and the introduction of flags. I think it's easier to earn credits as well (the making of all consumables premium with no cost was also part of that). When the game was released (I was in the beta) the highest tier you could buy was the Sims at TVII. I did buy the Tirpitz (TVIII) when it came out but I rarely played it as I did not think I knew enough to play it in randoms. Since then here have been times it's been possible to buy a TX - the ARP Yamato springs to mind. I'm not sure what WG is doing letting anyone unlock a rental Submarine at TX but they've got a wide variety of skills playing them. Personally, I've been tempted to play them but there is still a number of lines to grind out. I don't think submarines have a place in WoWS, they should have been used in a special mode maybe a convoy attack. -

I would say knowing which shell type to use and how to angle requires some skill. Also map awareness does take some time to learn as you tend to not spawn in the same area each time you spawn on the map - let alone the same side. -

BrusilovX replied to Karakzorn's topic in General Discussion
Yes, and when they get owned at the higher tiers (probably caused by a combination of low captain skills and lack of understanding of game mechanics including the role of the ship they are playing) and start a thread on 1) how bad a ship is or 2) How players are cheating. -
Graf Zeppelin, most crap premium ship!

I play Florida in co-op and don't have a problem with it - at least it's got decent speed compared to some of the other USA BBs. -
I have a winning bid for Musashi.......
BrusilovX replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in General Discussion
That tends to happen to people who demonstrate that they don't read on a regular basis. -
If you click on the name to the left of the post there is an option to message the person. You will, probably, have to upload the replay to WOWS Replays(?) and attach a link (URL?) to the replay. Be ware there there are warnings about opening replays at the moment as people have been embedding some nasty software in them.

Lighthouse Auction - Musashi this weekend

Look up the definition of announcement. The fact that some of us have found it means that it is just that. -

There is an announcement in-game - the lighthouse appears on the left hand side in the Armoury. -
The only real Legendry Upgrade I use (from when you could grind them) was the one for the Des Moines. I did get the one for the Shimakaze but it's not worth mounting. I've only used the RB a few times for ships and not anything else. As others have already posted they (upgrades) are too expensive for what they offer.

Did you ever play Cherry Blossom (TVIII cruisers) or the Dunkirk operations? They were enjoyable.

Clearly, it is for some.
