Couple of things there OP.... In a situation like that point directly away from him and go full throttle, this has several benefits... 1) You are not presenting a broadside so it is unlikely he will gain more than 2 fires simultaneously 2) you are harder to hit as the adjustment for ships moving away is more awkward 3) eventually he will have to get into a tail chase meaning only his front guns can fire, reducing the amount of incoming ergo less hits ergo less fires. 3a) This may actually make him break off and go do something else giving you the chance to retire and rebuild HP pool Don't get into situations where you are alone (this is paramount) if possible head away and towards any friendlies. Use DCP very carefully, 3 + Fires repair them, let the Grey HP bar fill then use HP Repair, also spend the money out and buy premium DCP and if possible on ALL BB run Superintendent skill for +1 Repair. Fireproof flags are best used on BB, as are the extended HP repair flags, take (and repair) enough fire damage and you will farm the fireproof flags for future use...

Well T6 Leander is a great little ship to play, good stealth, great torpedoes, good enough guns great for ambushing or waiting til an enemy is engaging another ship and open up on them.... just takes some brains to play the RN line, this is the first line that WG have openly stated is better suited to more experienced players it does not work as a 2nd line HE spammer it is more a knife fighter, ducking and diving..... RN line = Del Boy Trotter...... Cushty !! And looking at the global stats on the whole RN line (with the exception of Emerald - due mainly to screwed up T5 tiering since T4 protection) ALL are performing with WR above 51%... so the whole line sucks.... or do people just need to learn to adapt and change to the situation the ships present?

Sorry for double post but you replied while I was writing... Here we diverge, if you balance all lines for the average/mediocre player then what you end up with is good players ruling supreme in all lines, as they are able to make the most of given characteristics... There need to be some lines that are very difficult to master but very rewarding once achieved ... The RN line seems to be THAT line... Persevere and they are quite good so far... (Except) t2 to 4 ( need smoke)

RN cruisers are NOT ideal for an arcade game as you so eloquently put it, they are NOT for the average player in an average game, hence do not really have a place in their current form in this 'arcade' (your words) game... However your time is one of condescension bordering on elitist and frankly has no place in an adult discussion about ships.... @OP Russian cruiser line is there as a sop to RU server, it is designed to be easy for arcaders with antique PC's to excel in... German BB are easy mode for newbies... Japs have stealth, firepower and torpedoes, USN are escorts, RN is being set up as a hunter of opportunities find that lone ship looking at something else and devastate it... Then melt back into the undergrowth... Biggest mistake was for t3 to 4 not having smoke as the line is designed around having smoke as a tool to aid disengaging and melting back away. Easy fix to RN CL is to add smoke to T2 to 4 and 90% of issues go away.

FS is actually quite addictive, But RN cruisers are also addictive in an 'odd' way... you need to be a masochist but they do reward those who try !

Hi guys, well I posted on Day 1 about how terrible RN cruisers were, post joined others in the cruiser section. BUT... played a couple more games in the Emerald and found that it is actually NOT as terrible as initial thoughts suggested. Let me explain myself a little here... Emerald (for example) is another example of a late game ship.... stay safe, stay out of trouble and then pick on the lower health enemies at later stages, use her epic speed to late cap, use islands A LOT to ambush enemies... found great ways to hold up a flank against multiple enemies just by being around a headland those torps are awesome and the smoke is great combined with Hydro.... So YES squishy but very useful as late game johnnies.... if you can put up with abuse from team mates about not being up the front dying......

There were not really enough Heavy Cruisers to fill out a tree, RN concentrated more on Battlecruisers in place of CA... So trees would need to be DD, CL, BC,BB

Have to say so far upto T5 has been shocking..... ships are hopelessly outclassed in every way... Me and div mate went out played 2 games in BB at T4 and 17 kills between us in those two games.... guess what we were killing in single salvoes each time?

Problem with the CC's is that they have the ship when no body is understanding the limitations, or shouting out to the streamer hoping for their 15 minutes of fame
