    Mutsu worth 4585 dubloons?

    If you are an experienced (Decent) BB player then Mutsu is a fabulous ship ! Sensible use of the Overmatch mechanic IS the modus operandi of Mutsu, also long range plunging fire on Bismark / Tirpitz gives a surprising number of Citadel hits on these ships. Best use of Mutsu, is early game advance to the weaker flank, engage superior enemy numbers at range, close to 12km, get turned around then retreat, using over the shoulder fire at 1/2 speed. Allow those pesky Torpedo equipped KM BB to close to 6 KM, wait for them to start trying to use torps and hit them along the Upper Belt and watch those damage numbers mount. So, all in all, Mutsu is a great ship if played to her strengths (Guns, Angling, Torps, Speed), But a not so great ship if you are used to close range brawling. Had mine since Day 1, would I buy her again?? In a heartbeat..... YES ! As for performance, here is a snapshot from today showing how she performs, well for me anyway!

    PT 0.6.6 Feedback - Operations - Technical

    Hey Guys we picked up a few issues last night with a 7 man division running Scenarios.... After playing a game as Division leader, was unable to enter battle, orange battle button was live clicked it and the 'bong' for going into battle happened but all stayed in port. To fix this we had to keep changing the division leader to allow the next person to be able to enter battle. Secondly we have the sneaking suspicion that some captains skills are not working in PTS... the turret rotation speed up, does not seem to be working on any ship... most noticable on Bayern /Fuso as the turrets are noticably slower than on the main server..... not sure if this is a fact but it is percepibly slower on PTS than mainserver.

    game breaking bug

    Use the in launcher file integrity checker tends to solve around 95% of these issues.... also (on major) patches... do a clean install, or at very least do a fresh install after no more than 3 patches. I have never had any major problmes using this regime.

It was more the fact that at the start of the game I shouted out on TS that I wanted to hunt the Hoods..... over 50K damage to Hoods and the shots they did try were bounced off the angled front... But you are right that they were not concentrating, however with a Spotted range of 10.7KM a lot of the time the Imperator was not actually shootable.... my point was more that this style of gameplay from Hood players (ie Sat well back) is typical of most of them that I have met in game... To be honest I was a bit miffed that I couldnt go up against them alone that would have been a perfect exercise in my opinion.

    Looking for a Division to Test PTS Scenarios

    We in BAD-A have been playing this mode quite extensively, we will be on it again Saturday Evening for a couple of hours... any more time is hard... due to the intemse nature of the games..(tiring)... look up our in game channel (on PTS) BAD-A PT Pop onto our teamspeak and join in as the most we have had in one div so far is 6 and it would be great to have a 7th...

    Having been looked after for the last 3 years by MacMillan myself, I can say thank you Cain for your effort..... Funny thing is I didn't even know about the event until I read your post... maybe this is something that WG could get behind and get a shed load of forumites to run a marathon session on a particular day... with their backing the chances of raising more money would be awesome... come on Tuccy... open your wallet !
  12. I think that the earlier post about potatoes in general buying these ships is a good one..... I for one have not yet come across a decent Hood player in Randoms.... Nahato eats them for lunch, Warspite just lol pens them, over the shoulder shots from scharnhorst are great... oh and Nickolai seems to work quite well against them too......

    How often do you check your stats?

    I play all 'proper' classes (not those flying things) and here is my take on my typical game rants.... Me in BB "bloody Cruiser HE, OP as hell how am I supposed to hit them when they burn me down from behind an isalnd or from smoke... GRRRRRR" Me in CL "Bloody Battleship just took half my health with one shell.... GRRRRRR" Me in DD " Bloody Battleships are not behaving correctly... they keep changing course.... Bloody Cruisers Radar/Hydro..... GRRRRR" Anyone get the point I am making here??

    I find it more interesting )with a higher number of battles) to leave large intervals between checking, just looked today, 1st time in weeks and was very pleasantly surprised, didn't feel as if I had won that many games but hey NICE !

    For the TL : DR guys just scroll to the last paragraph. I have very mixed views on the MM as it stands right now. Simple example.... we have a new clan member a son, of one of our older members, we have all divisioned up with him to help him with his learning and grind, all good so far. Guys unlocks the Omaha, I suggest that maybe it would be better to wait and start a new line up to unlocking T5 and then another etc etc. when asked why I stated that T5 is VERY unforgiving for Cruisers, period. So he takes his Omaha out for his first game and is the ONLY T5 in a T7 heavy battle (by heavy I mean 2 x Scharnhorst’s, A Colorado and a Gneisenau plus assorted T6 and 7 Cruisers and T6/7 DD. The guy was like.... wow ! Anyway I ramble, my point (I think) is that how on earth are we to nurture new players if, as soon as they hit T5, in their non upgraded, low captain skill ships they are being hit constantly with these kind of opponents. Flip side of this is thus..... Certain ships / Classes (looking at you Nickolai) can perform WAY above their tier, while some (Emerald/Omaha/Furutaka/Myoko) are not able to punch much outside their tier (regularly). Now I know the tiering system is a great way of differentiating and making the tech tree look as nice as it does, but it is a bit un balanced. Wargaming have another system which flows alongside the tier structure, that of 'Battle Tier'.... humour me here please guys...... So..... wargaming have always said that they 'balance' ships over long periods of time based on server stats, making small nerfs/buffs to adjust the performance of some ships. How about leaving the actual parameters alone (unless something is patently broken of course) and balance via 'Battle Tier'..... Let’s take Imperator as a simple example... as this ship stood it was originally max battle tier 6, which meant that it would see ships from Tier 3 to 6... With recentish changes it is now Battletier max 5 meaning it sees Tier 3 to 5. This particular ship [could] have its BT (Battle Tier) Adjusted to BT4/6 and easily cope... Let’s try another... Kamikaze/Fujin these currently over perform and in their current BT 4/7 could easily be changed to BT 5/8 and suffer very little penalty. Emerald currently BT 4/7 could be balanced into BT4/6 to help its game play. Carriers are another issue entirely, I don’t play them, not a fan but I do feel for the guys who have a T7 CV.... BT 5/9 is too wide a margin for these ships.... a 1 tier battle spread would be better for both the players AND their opponents.... as T5 BB/DD/CL is unable to withstand T7 planes, flipside is that T7 carrier is unable to do squat in a T9 environment. Please Wargaming use your own system (Battle Tiers) to balance ships individually, not nerfs/buffs and artificial 'protected environments like T4 which adversely affects both T5 AND T6 which follows it.

    Yeah I can see your point about Flamu being grumpy about competitive stuff, not too pleasant. But as an instructional player to watch I actually prefer Flamu, as he is a very good player, just needs to work on people skills a bit maybe? Notser is funny as he derps out more often, ichase is a bit of a [edited]at times, Jingles is probably the best 'balance' of all the CC's.. mediocre player, and humorous, but it can be quite informative in what NOT to do at times. The CC events are a bit meh in general, as you have super competitives along with super casuals vying for the stage. My take on the whole shitstorm thing is that CC's know they are still representing a brand and 1:43 of "[edited]WG" is a bit beyond the reasonable, WG being WG tried slamming the ban hammer and it kinda backfired. But it IS their game, their brand and their company so if it takes a storm like this to reign in some of the more 'vocal' CC's then maybe it's for the best. Dunno really.... 6 of one and 1/2 a dozen of the other?

    The Competitive scene in World of Warships

    The biggest problem with WoWs as a spectator 'sport' is the complete lack of any action going on when the 'competitive' teams face off...... Nose in battleships in smoke, sat waiting for the enemy team to run out of patience and make a mistake is NOT an e-sport...... the utter pointlessness of these activities and the ways that teams play them has probably helped in a large way to allow WG to put team battles on the back burner. High tier is probably NOT the place for these modes 5 to 7 is probably the sweet spot for 'action' based game play... but then as has been seen in the past the camping mentality will just progress down and then we have the 'waiting game' all over again. As I said before the developers missed out on the greatest opportunity they had to embrace clan based game play, upon clan release they decided (in their infinite wisdom) to run another season of ranked, a mode which has to be the MOST antisocial way of playing this game. Whereas had they announced Team battles season 2 they could have ridden the wave of clan creation and memberships to give a 'social' game mode a chance....... opportunity missed !
