    Let's just say you have no idea what CVs were in early and then in late alpha. They are now in something like overnerfed position (and there were times when they were really OP yes) and that's why they will add again AP bombs, CV with 5TB and so on to bring them "in the middle". There will always be whiners that are going to be killed, that's part of the game. There is even whining now when the CVs and DDs were nerfed with the new turning speeds. That's unavoidable. Removing the skill from 1 class is not going to stop the whine, untill the "[edited]" is in the game the "pro" BBs will whine. Also the lower tier CVs don't have many reserve planes and they fly much slower + bigger arming distance and DD turning speeds for BBs. So you can't really make good AA without breaking them. Add the fact the the CVs are lower tier too - noobs vs noob, so bad evading vs auto attack (or bad manuals) and learning curve for everyone. If some experienced player is sealclubing the noobs that's something else, but that's possible with every single ship, not just CVs. I had tier 2 IJN DD to train IJN captain with x1.5 every day. Well the players on those tiers were not trying to dodge those torps, they were trying to catch them, I didn't even had to aim good...

    Every single BB on that gif was not even trying to turn. What's the point then? Also removing the manual drop is pretty much very bad idea. For once BBs would be able to easily evade the torps and that's not the goal. 2nd very guy first time trying the CVs will be able to much almost as much damage as top one. Wtf? You really want some "20K battles 33%WR 300WN8" guy to just click on your ship and be as effective as the top CV captains right now?

    Some questions regarding the carriers

    1) For now we don't have grouping, but I hope we will have at some point. Having 8 squadrons to control on tier X is well not easy. You can either group them with the mouse or you can hold Shift and select 2,4,5 for example and it's the same as you have selected those 3 from the map. 2) It depends. If it's another IJN just make sure he is not going for you first, so stick with the team. It really depends, but I will most likely target unprotected BBs if there are any, if not I will search for that CV. If it's american CV I usually always try to sink it with my first attack, otherwise it will be very hard for me to play. 3) I use 3TBs in 1 wave and 3 DBs in 2nd wave ~30-40sec later. This way there are no jams on board and everyone is using his repair after the torps, so the DBs can start the fires that do far more damage overtime. 4) Don't make them come all ot once Stopping won't help, if there are enemy ships near me I will have only the TBs land and take off again, the DBs won't help me, they will just jam everything. 5) Yes you will score some more hits and most important more fires. It's not hard to use it on BBs, if they are evading good (those USN BBs..) then it's not worth it, you will more likely miss. 6) They already gave you link to that topic about the AA, they shoot at 1 squadron at a time. 7) Attack from outside the map and be called cheater 8) The USN strike (not counting the Essex) is just weaker, so it's better to play with fighters and ruin the enemy CV's game. Otherwise he will sink you easily if he want or you won't deal enough damage to the enemy ships, while he is nuking one after another. Bad way to grind exp this way, so it's worth it if you are in division with good players and you need to cover them, so they can win for you. 9) Well now it's hard to say, it's too early. But the good CVs are scoring 120K+ avarage damage in Shokaku and 1.75+ kills per game.
  4. According to the stream with the Head of QA department (Quality Assurance, that's their job) today the long loading times should be fixed with 0.3.2 (parts at least) and in 0.3.3 for sure. The point is they don't know yet for sure (0.3.1 is 2 weeks old on the CBT) where the problem is. Players just say "it's loading slower", but that's not helping. 0.3.1 was not only about new ships, but also about new sounds, new graphics and new technological features to the engine. So that's a big step foward and the job in the future patches will be to increase the performance and fix this loading problems, that's priority N1 now.

    Update 0.3.1 American Battleships

    CVs should go for IJN BBs instead and sink them, while the USN BBs can be sunken only from other ships. Sure let's imagine that. In such case what should be their downfall or if they don't have one where should be the IJN BBs better to compensate this? The case with Izumo-Iowa for example as that's the AA fortress: - better guns? nope - turn like DDs? nope - better armour? nope - great anti-torpedo protection? nope it's the same And not that the Izumo is such a bad ship, but really what does it have to compensate for the lack of AA shield? Let's imagine Iowa should keep this insane AA - what should be removed instead - the anti torpedo protection so that DDs will need much less hits to sink her or make nice big citadel hitboxes above the waterline, so that other BBs cause much more damage as it's defended from air and should be taken out from other ships? What's the reason to be at least as good as the other BBs (if not better) and have AA shield at the same time? I want for DBs to have AP bombs and 80% accuracy as ice pilots, so I can click on the IJN/USN (pick one) DD chasing me and kill it, because it shouldn't chase CVs, it's good for the game, they should "be creative" and "GTFO as fast as possible" when they see CV... EDIT: Don't get me wrong - they should have better AA, but not to the current level of magical shield level. The problem is only with the last hull of Colorado, N.Carolina and Iowa. Montana is fine for tier X and not so much better then Yamato. But Colorado's last hull AA is broken on tier 7 in combination with the turning radius, while N.Carolina's and Iowa's is just out of proportion with their tier and anti-ship power and protection. So it's just that or the CVs on those 3 tiers are to be buffed significantly, but in such situation the IJN BBs will suffer too much, so it's logical to tune down the USN BB's AA no normal levels instead.

    What you explain is simply not possible. If there was no smoke it's someting broken on your end - bugged client, internet problem and so on.

    Map Edge bug/exploit

    I'm fairly sure they still do damage outside the map and they go on if they miss. It's also possible to launch the torps from TBs from outside the map and they won't even have radar warning while the planes are outside the map. Did a pretty nice job yesterday killing such ship hiding there.

    Nope it's either Bismarck or Tirpiz confirmed as tier 8 premium. It's not sure which one it would be and the latest plans (2-3 weeks old) are for Tirpiz as premium and Bismarck as regular. They said that in the 0.3.1 stream from the russian PT, but that can change again of course, we don't know when are they going to add one of them.

    They said they will work again on the MM in 0.3.2. What,how,whan are open questions If they really fix something there is a chance to get the 2 CV divisions back.

    Well does it have to be "sniper"? What we got - ship as fast and agile as Amagi with long range,nice guns and amazing turret rotation speed. Yeah some less guns (8) and probably pretty bad AA, but hey - that's tier 8 premium ship, it doesn't have to be as good as the regular ships to be playable (most important for me) and farm credits (also important). The bottom line is we can get ship that will actually be fun to play (not a slow one or with low range) and it's tier 8 BB that will make lots of damage (damage+premium ship=?) = the WoWs Lowe. Well that's worth 40-50 Euro (my guess) and I'm surely buying it, was holding on the Trollspite, because of that.

    It's not about coordination - the division will hunt targets individually and will join only against the enemy CV or some dangerous ship. The point was you got 2 guaranteed CV for 1 team, while the other got 0 or 1 and in most of the cases lower tier one, simply because there aren't many CVs around and the MM won't make them wait too long. They will tweak the MM in 0.3.2 again, so there is hope to add them back.

    Well that's probably stats from the gamefiles. But the ship will undergo testing and balance before making it to the game, so that can probably change. We know at least the intended gameplay.

    Well the PT was pretty simple - everyone was trying the new ships = BBs and CVs everywhere. And american CVs were playing only strike setup too. So imagine 2x international airports and another flying kitakami and Essex in strike setup in the other team. The rest are mainly BBs - both american and japanese. I hope you can imagine 10x TB and 6 DB vs BBs and 7TB and 6DB vs BBs And the removal of 2 CVs was with 0.3.0.1 - just a week after CBT start. 2 experienced alpha high tier CVs (we got free exp) vs 0 or 1 lower tier and fresh meat in form of noob BBs everywhere. My WR in platoon was 90% and almost every attack was 1shot of 1 or 2 enemy BBs who don't know they have to turn...

    - the arming distance on lower tiers is already much bigger then the arming distance on the higher tiers. Also the planes and the torps themself are slower. - no thanks! I want to be nuked only if the player in this CV is good. I don't want "20K battles, 33%WR, 300WN8" guy to click on my ship and kill me with some RNG without even knowing there are things like arming distance, manual drop etc.

    They need their range, but as you have 0 (zero) battles in them you don't know that... When you see their warnings and the red triangles in the water they are already armed, so they were dropped further away and had time to arm already, they are not dropped where you see the warnings.

    Well it's not alpha anymore - one of the main testing goals now is the balance. Exactly those things like avarage WR and avarage damager per battle, exp, kills etc + some feedback is used to balance the ships. So you pretty much just play the game and provide your stats to WG, so they can balance the game.

    Bombers how to use them right?

    Finally found confirmation for my observations about the fire/flooding damage or why the DBs after TBs is better idea and also why it's better to target BBs with them and not smaller targets. Flooding damage is from 0.66%hp/sec for low tier ships to 0.12%hp/sec for high tier ships and with anti torpedo protection. So when attacking mid to high tier BBs it would be up to ~ 0.25%hp/sec. Damage from fires is constant on all tiers, just the chance gets lower. 0.3%hp/sec (0.4 for CVs) and the fires stack! 3 DBs squadrons will almost always start between 1-3 fires - thats 0.3% to 0.9% hp/sec.     [Basics] Spotting mechanics

    Well according to WG the smoke is exactly like island and is very high - almost the altitude of the scout plane. The difference is that each portion of smoke is with radius 450m only, while the islands are much bigger - you can't use the 2km proximity spot with the islands, because they are usually bigger. You can also get spotted from scout planes as I said, sometimes you can't even see them, while they can (you will see them when they are 4km or closer).

    If those DDs are evading, it's very hard to hit them with the DB's as you need bow to stern if you want to score any hits and it's not rare to cause no damage (only some critical) even if you hit them. Sometimes it's easier for me to launch manual torpedo strike and hit them (especially with IJN CVs, because of their faster torps). As for the "guaranteed hit" it's the same as with the auto torpedo attack. You can click on the target and they will launch from further away, but with bigger spread, so it's actually easier to score any hit. This any hit is still more even if the target is evading compared to DB where the target is not evading. If you want maximum result you launch manual attack with small spread and close range, so you either do it right and make a lot of damage or screw up and miss everything. Same with the DBs in their manual attack - if you do it right you will score more hits and start more fire, but it's alsmo much easier to screw up and cause 0 damage. Now keep in mind that the DBs are the main damage source for the most USN CVs, because of their air superiority setup. The DBs can't be useless as before, there are even AP bombs planned for them.

    What has his AA power to do with the cruisers AA barrage ability? He didn't killed your 3 DB squadrons, he just made them panic and as you attacked in such situation you wasted them, because they can't really hit targets in that condition. You could have just waited 30 seconds and attack then scoring the hits...
