1TB more is 25% more damage output at least + the planes have more hp (AA kills less planes) and they fly faster. The DBs have bigger spread, but they hit harder. You see the same tier 7-10 ships, so the damage should have been 30-40% more. I need more games for myself, but for now I can use papedipupi as reference, because he made 44 battles already (and can be compared to his 300+ on Shokaku). His damage increase is ~12%, so the rest is simply the nerf + the lost focused alpha, where you can't 1shot afk player or the enemy CV.

Well the Taiho is simply with 1 TB more. If you look at their stats you will realise why were those CVs not added with the old spread. Yeah and the next patchnotes will probably include removal of TBs, because they are out of ideas how to screw them and some players still nuke everything out of the water. On a serious note the overall performance is not nerfed as severely as expected. The frustration however is x10, because looking your perfect anvil strike failing, because of the huge gaps is ... fun. The bigest problem is focusing the damage against non afk and even avarage players. You could hit evading BB very hard if they screw up, now that's problematic. Whats more terrible - you can't kill the enemy CV in 1 strike anymore, the spread is just too huge for the torps damage. When you can't kill it you better don't try - that's buff for the USN CVs and their buffed fighters again. Taiho can do it, but that's 4 TBs and they are barely enough for lower tier CVs if they try to dodge the torps.

Citadel hits...do we have a class immune to them?
Sharana replied to conductiv's topic in General Discussion

BBs are very hard. Bad players will take them and expect to play singleplayer on easy. Sometimes even movie where they click start and watch with popcorn how their ships roflstomp the enemy. But those bad players are the biggest part of the community and they pay (very big part of WG's revenues) and WG will tweak the game to please them, so they can play and pay of coure. But whats the noob BBs logic after playing few battles: - f***ing torps, they don't let me play, too OP. Nerf DDs and CVs - f***ing fires, am I battleship or a tanker, nerf HEs - f***ing cruisers, I miss them with my inaccurate guns, because they maneuver and hit me with 3 salvos for each mine fail - f***ing BBs with those aimbots, citadel hits from 20km. Now they removed it and the same BBs realised they can't hit anything above 5km. Buff the guns accuracy and shell flytime.

I don't see how it does that as if you want to score some hits at least you do exactly that, otherwise everyone can evade them using the huge gaps and their nerfed speed.

A small piece of info I found, it's from Vlegris (yeah the balance guy) from 20.05.15.
-
It was given to some people today to test run it on the CBT,

Same here, Taiho only. The stats will say (damage and kills) expect the next nerf, but that were good games. Pre patch it would be x1.5, it's so annoying to see the BBs maneuvering between the torps in the spread or leaving the enemy CV with 5-6K while pre patch you would have killed him 2 times over... Anyway everything under 20-50 can't be representative.

They haven't programed such feature. They will in the future, but that's all we know.
-
Because there is no other way to make them better. They won't put larger caliber, they won't give them huge hp boosts, so they will give them such features. That's their idea of high tier ships.
-
Because a minority (skilled CVs) was generating too much whine from the majority (noob rambo BBs).
-
BBs want the AA barrage and the cruisers want smoke. Both is possible, but should we do that for gameplay reasons?
-
Nope some players with 0-10 battles in CV are happy about it.
-
Well this spread was to be nerfed, it was too tight. That was to be expected and that was making the tier IX and X OP, so they removed them from the CBT version. Spread as the USN, but with 4 instead of 6 torps inside it would be fair, even a tiny bit more if the speed of the torps was left the same. Now it's purely overnerfed to 0 skill condition, if you want to show you are better with the manual drops go for Essex and generate forum material from crying noob BBs...
-
People will get 1shot with the tier X carriers and will whine. AP bombs, fighters attacking ships and so on. But they will suffer not only from the good players, but from the bad ones too and we will have the same arty jihad, because there will be no skill in the CVs, just hiding, cliking and making someone suffer.

Q1: No, because there was such thing in WW2, the torpedo can nonly be dodged if it's in the water. Q2: I doubt they will make such thing due to many reasons, it will be the same as other WG games. Q3: For bugs probably not, you can always come to the forum or write support ticket. S1: look at Q2. S2: Considered, but not planned. Too much RNG in those hits and the torps are enough. S3: It's beta, the graphic is not such a priority, but they still do pretty good job with them.

If you read in another topic you will see he wants to get rid of the manual drop completely, as it's too OP. He wants the skill to be setting attack angles in the auto attack. At least Essex and Midway have to keep their spread and skill will matter.

The american AP bombs were pretty good, unlike the japanese. Both Mark 1 and Mark 33 were penetrating 5" (137mm) deck from 6500' (1980m) when dropped from a dive bomber in a 300 knot 60 degree dive. The Americans estimated that seven penetrating bomb hits would be enough to sink a battleship, while the Japanese estimated that 12 to 16 penetrating hits were required. EDIT: too late

Those don't like the HEs (burn to death) and those scream they are getting 1shotted all the time (from torps). Welcome tо 0.3.1 guys.

Again closed information for balance purpose. Some can stay indefinitely in the smoke with the pers, while other DD's can't...

Was mentioned in the russian stream with a dev today, so I would say yes.

The patch will come tom...later today

When there is а CV in the division the MM thinks there are 3 CVs in that division and is trying to balance that out. The result: 2 higher tier CVs if the are any avalible in the queue. No idea when it's going to be fixed.

One important thing that didnt get into tomorrow patch notes
Sharana replied to Vulgarny's topic in General Discussion
Unfortunately there is no mistake and the patch is live already on the NA server. The devs just think that they are too difficult for noobs and bad players (read big part of the playerbase) - both BBs and CVs. Now BBs can't get hit for more then 2 torps from squadron even if they try hard to catch them, while the noobs can launch auto attacks and get secure hits even if that would be 1 or max 2. The good players ... well who thinks about them, they will adapt and figure out a way to be better again, so it can be nerfed later too. Current developers logic™ Just had my farewell game with Shokaku, because I just won't play it anymore, let them gather stats from those they are "fixing" them for (and the 19 points captian is getting reassigned). RIP Shokaku, you will be remembered! My only consolation is that the Essex in strike setup will still make those BBs come to the forum and whine for CV nerfs -
I have 4 friend! They should make 5 players division, so we can play together. Also dew of them should be allowed to be CVs.
