Und du denkst ein ST Server ist repräsentativ, wenn es sich um Balance handelt?
-
There is nothing to judge. The IJN CVs were nerfed with that spread, because the top 1% of the players was overperforming way too much (more then WG wants them to at least) and that was leading to BB's whine who were the targets. Now good players are testing it, so WG can see if they are overperforming again in thise tier IX after the nerf to the IJN TBs. The proper sample and the balance to make it playable is the CBT's job, later when it's released. Right now they clearly want to eliminate their biggest concern - they don't want top players to overperform too much. I just had a look at the stats of 20 players who I know have it, but they are maybe more. If we nerf at least 1 of them or even better 4-5 it's not overperforming But of course Taiho was added just 2 days ago, so the battles are ~630 now (for those 20 players at least), it's too early to say anything
-
How else can you test it without affecting many players? You can give it to bad-avarage players and they won't, but after release the top players will ge to it and do what are they doing now, but it would be kinda late to balance it then. i don't get your point.
-
Was any other ships removed from the game just a day before the release out of fear that it would be too OP?
-
It's part of the testing process, it's not a gift for some. When it's finally balanced they will release it for the rest to fine tune the balance. Right now it's given to some supertesters and some beta testers who are good with CVs and have many battles in the high tier CVs, I would guess ~30 ships total. For me they are testing her maximal performance as the top CV players (or most of them at least) have her. It it's released for everyone it's harder to gather specific data and if it's unbalanced it can unleash a sh*tstorm on the forums. Btw the search function is your friend, it was discussed already. Making your 1st post on the forums complaining some got a new toy while you haven't and you are angry about it...Srsly?

Torpedo spread nerf at IJN torpedo bombers in patch 0.3.1.2
Sharana replied to Haatra's topic in General Discussion
It's pointless to waste time and shot for them when you are in the middle of the battle. They made it much easier with boosted automatic AA that's firing without arcs and is pretty damn effective. -
This is part of the closed section for beta testers only and yet you can...

Torpedo spread nerf at IJN torpedo bombers in patch 0.3.1.2
Sharana replied to Haatra's topic in General Discussion
Devs said that's myths, so there won't be anti torpedo guns with chance to disable 1 torp. Anti torpedo protection are the anti torpedo bulges for example. They reduce the chance of flooding and the damage of course - the max is 8K for example and you get hit for 3-4K. -
Torpedo spread nerf at IJN torpedo bombers in patch 0.3.1.2
Sharana replied to Haatra's topic in General Discussion
Just for the record - 3 IJN TBs are nothing more then 2 USN TBs we had in 0.3.0. They just make less damage now, ships have anti torps protection working and almost all of them turn faster and got better AA. Soo they were not OP, but this change from 2 to 3 squadrons (same maount of planes) made them OP? Not to mention the fact that this firepower is now only for strike setups and can be easily stopped with fighters, while the old one was universal and couldn't be stopped with fighters, because every one had them. The same damage and even more consistent was not OP, now it is, so nerf to the spread was needed? And again just for the record - if you limit 1 class to max 2 per game there should be a reason - this class should have more carry capacity then other classes. Not to the point of "iWin button", but more then the others if the player is skilled. -
Taiho kommt später für alle. Im Moment braucht WG etwas anderes, das habe ich schon gesagt.
-
Your definition of "pretty well" is very lowered probably. Also you win most of your exp and credits from the damage and kills your dive bombers do. Try as experiment not to use them and make only air kills in 1 specific game and compare the results to your usuals, so you can see what part is comming from the air kills
-
If you really have fun keep it up. The good players play CVs in strike setup showing their skill with good manual attacks and wrecking the enemy ships. They are used to carry the team and they can't do that with fighters. Others who can't do good torp attacks or for other strange reason pick fighters and try to spoil the other CV's fun by killing their bombers. The problem is that when you play fighters you protect random players, that's bad to avarage players in most cases, don't expect miracles. By protecting them you lose your ability to attack ships and turn the tides yourself, you can only hope that those random players will win it for you. At the same time air kills give almost no exp (compared to damage vs ships) and strike CVs farm much more damage and exp+credits. For both those reasons figher configurations are not so popular and even hated by many CV captains, because there is no skill involved in playing them. Simply clicking on enemy planes.

Torpedo spread nerf at IJN torpedo bombers in patch 0.3.1.2
Sharana replied to Haatra's topic in General Discussion
The good USN CV with fighters is not the problem. He has the skill, you won't snipe him and you will play hide and seek around the map and you will score few hits against secondary targets and that's all. But the good CVs are probably 5%, it's rare to meet them. You could send 1 DB in the middle and show for some time the other 2 DBs on line 9-10 for example simulating attack, while you send your TBs on line 1 for example. When they are spotted it's too late to get the fighters back from the other part of the map. My every second game on Shokaku was killing the enemy CV (even if it's not USN, some IJN play fighters too) this way, many times killing even both enemy CVs, before I can focus on ships (half of the game is gone, but still). Same was with every single battle in Taiho I got, because there was always CV against me, but lower tier like Ranger, I can 1shot him with 4 TBs even with this spread. The problem is you can't 1shot him if he is the same tier and even if he is noob (95% of the cases) he will still be pain in the a** ruining your attacks against the most juicy targets. I don't have such problems against ships with this spread, the damage is not so much lower, it's just more frustating when you know what you would have done with the old one. -
OMG - WTF have they just done to CV..unbelievable

he couldn't hit with enough torps, because of the new spread to kill himself. DBs and fires were needed -
Torpedo spread nerf at IJN torpedo bombers in patch 0.3.1.2
Sharana replied to Haatra's topic in General Discussion
Because they are the only thing that can make your life real hell, nothing else can. If you take them down you can still farm some damage and affect the outcome with 2x this spread and have crazy stats showing that nerf is needed. If you can't kill them, then you can't counter them, while they can and both are useless instead of only 1. How else can I outplay the enemy fighters CV if I can't kill him? He can be monkey that is trained to click on enemy fighters and he will still counter me, no skill involved -

Torpedo spread nerf at IJN torpedo bombers in patch 0.3.1.2
Sharana replied to Haatra's topic in General Discussion
They are made to be the "easy" option for noobs. They play with fighters, so can't really affect the game and 1shot BBs. At the same time they simply point and click with their fighters (so much skill) making it harder for the good players to actually kill ships and affect the game. WG's way of balancing them, but some still somehow succeed in killing them fast and then nuking the other ships and nerf to the accuracy was needed, so they can't 1shot BBs and also those noobs (in 95% of the cases noob players) with fighters (was pretty usual with my Shokaku). That's the biggest problem I have right now with IJN CVs. BBs OK, they will suffer less, if it's better for the balance I'm fine with it. But when I outsmart the enemy fighter CV make it to his ship with TBs I deserve to kill him with good manual drop as before. Instead I can now just damage him badly if he is not 2-3 tiers below me. So I wasted 5min, used the DBs as decoy and I can't eliminate the threath for me, because noob protection was activated and he can keep on clicking on my bombers and have his definition fun (yes some have fun just shooting down planes, even if they are completely useless) -

It was said on the forum already - some STs and regular beta testers got it. From their stats you can see that they played a lot of battles in CVs and are in the very good and above group. They also got Essex, so have experience with the tier IX. -

So is it nerf or buff after all -
At the end of the guide I wrote about the skills. http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/7608-guide-basic-cv-gameplay/ You have IJN CV, so pick the tier 1,2,3 as there. For tier 4 take the Advanced flight training and by the times you have points for another tier 4 or 5 you will have enough experience to choose for yourself.
-
It's very angle dependant now, so you either switch the ammo or switch the targets, if the angle is not good. And don't shoot AP on the superstructure, it's pointless. The angles are too much for now and they will lower them in the next patches, so that AP is no longer so situational.
-
I have killed Yamato with 1 torp. Just 2 times in all my CV games, but that's possible. nerf them!
-
I guess they consider the USN CVs fine, because they want them to play fighters and reduce the BB's whine by shooting down the TBs. If that's good or attractive is another matter. That's why I think they try to balance the IJN strike setup's teeths. You can read this if you haven't. Sharana, on 29 May 2015 - 08:44 PM, said: A small piece of info I found, it's from Vlegris (yeah the balance guy) from 20.05.15. So if they actually increase the speed and damage on the IJN CVs we can probably get back to the old values, so it won't be such a nerf. More likely a buff, because it would be easier to kill damaged ships and noob players will have easier time hitting their targets. That will lead to new whine, new nerf and so on They can of course nerf them even more with "japanese ordnance", so it's too early to speculate. I guess we will know in the next 2 weeks.
