    My Essex was with about 106K avarage damage with the latest patch and that were ~130 battles. Few battles in strike setup made them 111K now. If we reset the stats and start playing strike with the same 19 points captains the Essex will score as much as Taiho. Beside I have only 5 battles, that can't be called avarage for now, I can't rly play much at the moment.

    Well the air kills don't give such bad rewards. Of course it's not fair if they give as much as bombers, it's simply too easy, 0 skill. .. I tried Essex with 3 fighters yesterday - was battle against enemy strike Essex, but still made him completely useless, while I ended with top xp.

    The pre patch Essex had 2 fighters, 2 TBs and 1 DB. 2 USN TBs = 3IJN TBs. It was universal - now strike or air superiority. Right now the Essex's stike output is the same as nerfed Taiho we have now. But the point is it's not pure damage to exp as you say it is. CVs get less exp for their damage and other classes more. It's not much more, but the strike CVs now have chances to overperform when there is no enemy fighter CV and that's messing up the stats, nothing else. Before 0.3.1 it was constand every single battle - with or without enemy CV. Now their max output (strike) is increased, but also the counter is presented (fighters) so it's gamble. Once you deal 200K damage, the next time you deal 70-100K vs fighters.

    I told you not to count the 0.3.1 with the x1.5, x4 and 50% flags. The exp reward is the same since alpha, but the stats representation in the site changed with the 0.3.1 patch. I played N.Carolina and Shokaku at the same time during the x4 weekend. 4 vs 5.5K exp for almost x2 the damage, but yet again only 1 x4 can screw everything, I had alsmot 29K exp battle in Shokaku. That's messing with the avg exp with only 28 battles... But why don't we compare something pre 0.3.1 patch when the counting was fair - Yamato, Essex (tier X then) and Des Moines. All those 3 ships have max 4-5 battles after the patch and none during the x4 so the stats are not messed up. Yamato - 105K damage for 2670exp Essex - 111K damage for 2272 exp Des Moines - 78K damage for 2126 exp Does it look only damage related without compensation for the class?

    No I want you to compare the BBs and CVs and why don't they they have 2x the CVs exp when they do so much more damage.

    That tier X is even ships from the space battles, everyone who played has them. I'm bad with DD, I don;t enjoy their playstyle and I don't them. However the exp is there on the list. Same for BBs and I play BBs. Why don't they have 2x less avd exp if they deal 2x less damage?

    In such case I have no idea why my avd exp with BBs is more and pretty much the same as DDs. CVs strangely don't have x2 Please don't try to compare individual ships after the 0.3.1 update. The x4 battles are counted, the x1.5 daily, the 50% flags and so on.

    Exactly, it's playtime and achievments that are rewarded. When you die you just pick another ship or go alt tab and do something else. WHy should the reward be the same for 10 or 20 minute play?

    The longer you live the longer you do damage. The end result will be far more dmage after 20 minutes then 1 that died in 10 minutes. It's so simple.

  14. I saw this great post in one russian blog. That's forum post (RU), but I don't know the original author and will translate it. It's funny, but brilliantly describes the mess we have right now that's called balance Topic: Cruisers are OP! Nerf needed!!! As we know it's good balance when everyone is complaining. Only cruisers don't whine on the forums, therefore they are imbalanced and need nerf. Battleships whine all the time and about everything. Simply every single thing is decisively spoiling their fun. First of all that's the torps and the CVs by default (please remove that [edited]!). They are the ones who sink so many poor BBs with every single attack right at the spawning positions, now they can even cook them on fires with all those bombs! DDs are also disturbing them a lot, if there is by mistake no CV in the game who will get to them first, don't worry - they will inevitably catch the DD's torps. The douchebags just spam the damn torps with their cloaking device activated, from the smoke, behind the islands and they are only spotted right before they hit, so there is absolutely no f***ing chance to dodge them! That's not enough for them, so they can even shoot with their flamethrowing machine guns without getting spotted!!! Cruisers are ruining everything too, for every salvo that they can easily evade, they return 3 with pinpoint accuracy and insane amounts of HE damage and permanent fires. Japanese cruisers even got torps on top of that, that's just complete [edited], nerf them! Last but not least - even the BBs themselves are spoiling the fun. With the aimbot there are those f***ing citadel hits from 20km, now without the aimbot they can't actually hit anything too. Long story short - the life of the BB captain is very hard, definitely the weakest class in WoWs. Buff them and nerf everything else!Aircraft carriers also whine. The hidden complaints (as attempt to avoid nerfs) in the last patch changed to full sized whine even if the BB's whine is louder. Their flight deck configurations are hindering them and it's very painful when your toy is taken away from you. The BB's AA is also spoiling their fun, while the cruiser's AA barrage is just out of line, so the AA is to be nerfed dramatically! It's also very hard for them that it's easy to run out of planes. Their biggest adversaries in sinking the BBs have infinite amount of torps, so the aircrafts should be infinite too! And they are helpless against the DDs, so much better secondary armament is needed, for CVs at least, the BBs are fine without it. The biggest problem of course are the traitors of the CV community that play with heavy fighter setups and are useless, but make the life for the rest just miserable. They are the ones that should be nerfed or even better - just banned! Even the DDs are complaining sometimes. They probably saw the CV's fate and figured out that if they don't whine the nerf hammer will visit them too. The torps are reloading slow, BBs are turning fast , CVs are spotting them all the time, now they even learned to throw those nasty bombs at them, while cruisers are just eradicating them on sight. And only the cruisers don't really whine on the forums at all. You get the feeling nothing is bothering them. Yes there are topics about them, but they are mostly leading to discussions which imba is more OP. Like why Des Moines is sinking Yamato every single time, while Zaya not every single time, or why Aoba can easily burn to the death Nagato, but is losing against Cleveland and so on. There is no whine that other classes are ruining their game. Planes just fly away from them, DDs evade them from far away, while BBs just try to stay out of the flamethrower's range. You see, they are so cheeky now that they simply don't fear any nerfs. And they can, you know, whine just a little bit, from empathy for the others at least ...

    After the latest buff USN air superiority setup (with skills and perks) can kill exactly all IJN planes in the air before they are out of ammo. If that's not enough I don;t even know what can you expect...

    Positioning TB attacks.

    That's the auto attack. You simply left click on the targeted ship while TB is selected. From there you just move the attack point like you do for the dive bombers. Also this the video is about tier X which is not in the game, it's from the test server. The guy making the video has no idea how to play CV, so he is using this highly ineffective auto attack. If he was experienced and was able to micromanage all the TBs for manual attacks he could sink tier X ships per attack.

    Role of the Cruiser

    We had that back in the alpha or the CBT start with 0.3.0 patches. For example Lexington - 2 fighters and 2 TBs (no DBs, who will use them if there are F+TBs). Perfect for both CAP and attacks. Result? Situation 1: No enemy CV. In this case the fighters were flying around the map keeping enemy DDs spotted while attacking BBs with the TBs. Situation 2: Enemy lower tier CV: Park your fighters near his CVs and wreck all the planes if he tries to bring some in the air. Torp poor BBs with the TBs. Situation 3: The same Lexington in the other team. Well they fought with fighters in the middle, so they are all out of ammo and the TBs are free to pass. Then they just attack BBs and the better one will simply do more damage or kill more important targets. Few minutes later the same and when the fighters are returning TBs are sent to attack. With enough players and fixed MM Situation 1 and 2 won't be the case in released game. Situation 3 was just boring - fighters were used to neutralise fighters, so everyone can just use his TBs and torps ships for fun. "Air superiority" is just a word (well 2), it's not worth anything if there aren't dangerous bombers in the skies. What's the point to have it or not to have it? Also war is never fair! You can win air superiority there, but you can't in balanced game where the enemy is on the same ground and there is no skill with fighters - just clicking. You can also spot enemy BBs and CAs, but if they can't be spotted from the ships then the range is extreme and who is going to damage them? Avarage BBs shooting on their max range? So the CV gameplay is fun (for most of the players) when you attack ships and do damage, same as every other class. Everything else is secondary that will allow you to attack ships. To click on the map and fly CAPs and scout is not fun at all (when you are with fighters and there is no enemy CV you do exactly that and it's very boring). There is absolutely no skill involed in it and you feel useless just observing how is your team failing and you can't do anything. However attacking ships is very skill dependant + almost no RNG compared to other classes, if you screw up with your attack it's either your fail or the enemy was too good for you, it's not that RNG screwed you up. That's the main reason players use CVs and have fun with them. If you simply want support unit, so you can deal damage easier then the CVs should be AI controlled and fly CAPs over the top BBs and scout random locations on the map. You don't need good player wasting his time when he can take another class and deal enough damage and kills to turn the tide of the battle That's the case for randoms where everyone is trying to have fun. Team battle modes like Clan Wars are something else, but you can't balance the CVs only as support units to be used there. They can always be such, but that's not their job in randoms (supporting random, mostly bad players).

    Das ist natürlich die theoretische Situation, wenn es wirklich so aussieht wer wurde mit Taiho spielen? 100K+ Schaden sind aber gegen Essex auch nicht möglich. Wenn Essex mit 3 Jäger und Taiho nur mit Bomber auf den gleichen "Skilllevel" sind kann Taiho am Start den gegnerischen Essex einfach nicht killen.

    Who should counter you as top tier BB in such case? You are not playing singleplayer vs bots and are not expected to roflstomp without opposition. If it was your tier CV (Essex or Taiho) and you had no fighters cover and no cruisers escorting you - you would be killed much earlier and that's how the balance is supposed to work. BBs are CV's food.

    Exuse me sir, but what do you expect from CVs that have 72 planes on tier 7 or 8? It was the same with the old Lexington - only the TBs were 36. What's broken now compared to ... always? Not to mention that you are in Iowa with it's crazy AA and would suffer much more in the 0.3.0 patches where the CVs were even more balanced

    Shokaku is with 12 TBs in the air. Main damage dealer, we are used to it. Taiho is with 4 squadrons (16) and Hakuryu International Airport is with 5 = 20 TBs, flying Kitakami Now those 20 TBs have far more hp to handle the tier 10 AA and had tier 9/10 torps which deal ~10K damage instead of 8.5 on Shokaku + much better DBs. So what has Shokaku accomplished in the same tier 6-10 games? ~130-140K damage avarage for the top players. 1TB more on Taiho is pure 25% damage output increase, realistically more, because DBs are better and planes fly faster+have more hp. Top players could achieve avarage damage of ~190K per game with the old Taiho what the russians did on the public test server, even more because no one was playing fighters and the new USN BBs were everywhere. Yes the public test was only 3 days, but we have Taiho only since 3 days too. I have only 5 battles, so I'm not representative in any case, but the next in line are papedipupi and Aerroon by avarage damage and they have battles in it. Papedipupi's 125 games are more then enough to say that his 158K avarage damage is really avarage and not few lucky games. His russian equivalents on the PT server (same 3 days) avaraged at ~200K for Taiho and ~300K for Hakuryu International Airport. I saw a screenshot with 10 kills and 625K damage. Please tell me you really think that wouldn't be OP on the CBT server and few days after the 0.3.1 patch there wouldn't be sh*tstorm on the forums . If Montana is escorted by 2 Des Moines there are enough TBs and DBs to take ~30-50% of the health, not really immune and there are is more then 1 attack per game. It won't 1shot good Montana, but will badly damage it - that's ~75K damage for this attack. Can the best Montana player avarage 150K damage per battle where the Flying Kitakami would be ~250K even with the bad games against enemy Essex with 3 fighters?

    3 squadrons x 4 planes = 12 TBs. 2 squadrons x 6 planes = 12 TBs. How did they become more after they were always 12? Be honest - imagine the old Shokaku, but with 5 TBs and their hp is not for tier 8, but tier 10 to match the AA there. Good only against bad players?

    1 Essex Jäger = 2760 Schaden oder 3312 mit Upgrades und Perks. 7 Jäger pro Staffel x3 = 21 oder 69 552 Schaden. Taiho Bombers - 1950/1780 hp oder mit Upgrades und Perks 2340 / 2136. 1 Staffel mit TBs ist 9360 x4=37 440 hp. Also die Jäger haben noch 32 112 Schaden was genau 15 DBs ist (3 Staffeln). So kann Essex eigentlich mit 21 Jäger alle 31 Bomber von Taiho ab­schie­ßen und hat noch seine 10 Bomber Tier X ist auch USS Midway. Hakuryu International Airport und Midway kommen wahrscheinlich zusammen.
