CVs road to "clicker" class is almost finished
Sharana replied to Ishiro32's topic in General Discussion
If you can't hit ships while the enemy CV can it helps. If you are better in hitting ships fighters don't let you show that and carry the team. -
Smoke + DM + 1 random cruiser and there is no need to catch them, and blind shots can't kill anyone
-
can't be better then DM + Shimakaze

CVs road to "clicker" class is almost finished
Sharana replied to Ishiro32's topic in General Discussion
yes if you face "morons" it's easy to land torps with auto or manual. But if it was so easy why are you landing only 3-4 torps on avarage for the whole battle duration? -
8km from both surface and air.

CVs road to "clicker" class is almost finished

I'm sorry, I was sure I added the link... http://forum.worldofwarships.ru/index.php?/topic/18569-%D0%B2%D0%BE%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%BE%D1%81%D1%8B-%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B7%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B1%D0%BE%D1%82%D1%87%D0%B8%D0%BA%D0%B0%D0%BC/page__st__160__pid__915935#entry915935 The russian Q&A topic, posted by a dev today. That's the point. Big part of the customers (BBs) don't like the manual drop now and WG now says they no longer consider it a skill. The "skill" would be to hit from long range with tight spread. The fact that this would work only against the worst or afk players does not concert them, the auto drop is almost as good as the current manual drop, so yep clickers -
CVs road to "clicker" class is almost finished
Sharana replied to Ishiro32's topic in General Discussion
You say "CVs road to "clicker" class is almost finished", well they just said how they plan to rework the manual drop in the future and finish the job. Because of the bad CVs and bad BBs whine they made the auto attack almost as good as the manual drop, which will be reworked. So the regular attack will be point and click in arty style, while the manual drop will have to be far away. They will reverse the spread, so the it gets tighter with the distance traveled. If you want to hit ship with the manual drop and score more then 1-2 hits you will have to drop so far away that only tunnelvisioned player with sounds disabled or afk won't be able to evade it That's not possible right now, because of the engine, but they are working on it. -
Contrary to others I believe AP is too weak now.

Doesn't look buggy to me. There are just the rules about bounce and overpenetration. If you hit and penetrate it's pretty clear. 1x damage (max you see in the stats) for citadel hit, 0.33x for non citadel hit, 0.165x if that part of the ship was badly damaged already and 0.1x if it was overpenetration. -
Of course we want to see the OP airport after the nerfs oneshotting killing a poor defenseless Yamato in two waves in 9 minutes With the lower tier CVs it's harder, but the high tier ones like 9 (Essex, Taiho) and 10 (airport) it's well ugy, because of the firepower. Probably 50% of my games yesterday were CV duels. I'm hugged by 2-3 cruisers, sometimes DD with smoke and the enemy is hugged by 2-3 cruisers with DD sometimes. And those cruisers actually know that if their CV is killed that would be very bad for the team as the CV will start attacking ships. I was outsniped 2 times and we sunk each other (final order for planes) 2 more times. Absolutely no way to survive on your own

Can you please tell me about the historical AAA kill ration? About BBs hit ratio and so on. Ah yes it's not a simulator... And red is only for moderators aerial toprs deal less damage, so it's easier to score hits, but you attack like once every 4-5 minutes. You are not supposed to evade them when they are already in the water. You are supposed to evade the planes, so they drop them with bad angle and don't hit you with 10 torps in your broadside, but just 3-4 torps. That's not so hard to do and the damage from 3-4 torps is low and you can repair big part of it, while the CV wasted 5 minutes to hit you for like 10K damage after the repair. You are not supposed to evade all the torps and you are not supposed to have chance in evading if you don't act early enough which is game skill and situational awareness.

I don't see point out fact as insult. I will give you example of my history with WoWs and if I was active on the forums about the gameplay aspects back then I would say that's OP, that broken and so on. - 1st beta weekend - up to tier 5. I played BBs (of course ) and the alpha captains in DDs were roflstomping me. Smoke, high damage torps, I couldn't imagine something more OP then DD and more UP then BB. -2nd beta weekend - they added all tiers and CV. I played CV with the old easy to evade auto drop (I didn't even knew about the alt drop back them). Omg what is this AA, BBs dance like ballerinas, cruisers with their panic are OP and DDs come to kill me every time. CVs were totally UP in my eyes. - then I was invited to the alpha and started playing cruisers with good BB captains 1shoting me while I was hitting them for tiny amounts of damage (no such buffed HE and fires back then). - I dropped cruisers and started playing BBs and suffered from CVs and DDs while overpenetrating cruisers who outdmped me at the end. - Didn't liked the BBs and wanted to play it easy with the torps and the easy lead they give you, just click and punish. Well that was complete fail. After all that I actually started to learn about the game mechanics, how to aim, how to torp, how to control planes. I had to read many guides and watch videos and then with enough practice learn to do it myself. When the CBT started I was punishing such noobs like me during the beta weekend with CV and they were whining on the forum that BBs are UP and CVs are OP. My point is that you can't claim what's OP and what's UP in the game until you learn to play them all, not just try them for few battles. After that you can have something like balanced view about the game balance. Most of the "whiners" are simply in the first phases (and most of them will stay there as WoT experience shows) and that's why I don't take such opinions seriously. EDIT: Hold Ctrl and left click on the desired squadron. That will boost the AA power 1.5 times and that's a lot. Also if they split to for the hammer and anvil tactic select the AA on 1 that will hit your broadside (AA will kill planes, so less hits) while turning to the other, so you meet the torps with your bow and take only 1 hit

CVs road to "clicker" class is almost finished

But lose in the dpm race. Nothing wrong with that if we don't count the fact that they can change the deck layout and play air superiority instead of grinding another line, while IJN captains can't. -
Well Ectar is not game developer and as player he is in the same 0 battles in CV group (CVs are nothing like in the alpha now). They can drop close yes, but they also fly in a straight line for some time before they drop and this straight line was increased 3 times in the last patch. If you want to dodge the torps after they are in the water ... well that's not the idea behind it. As the veteran captains say - evade the planes, not the torps
-
In WoWs the DDs have much bigger chance to kill BB then a LT->HT in WoT and surprise, surprise, there are no TDs so DDs counter BBs very good with their torps. If it's the same skill level medium will have problems with the heavy tank (without gold ammo on some). So it's pretty much the same for me, if you put limit they have to affect the gameplay significantly. CVs do, so they are limited, but they don't want to make the same with BBs. And if you think that BBs just die so hard that CA or DD has no chance against them and BBs should be limited in any way, they you simply don't play them enough. EDIT: 30 battles in BBs up to tier 6. Thx for the discussion, I should have looked earlier.
-
Well nothing strange, because the players "attacking" the CVs usually have 0 battles in them (like you ) and start the arty thing, so...
-
Then I'm back to my question: And as bonus questions: you player WoT - are you fine with the HT,MT,LT.TD balance there? I'm sure there were a lot of heavy tanks fighting battles compared to the medium and light tanks.

1%, 5%, 10% or 15%, the value doesn't matter, you want to make 1 class less profitable, because it was expensive IRL and you don't want to see many BBs ingame. You want players to farm credits in CA or DD and not in BB. Why?
-
It's not about premium, they are balanced by their cost. The expensive ones generate you more profit per battle and it doesn't matter which class they are. Read again what you wrote: Bl4ckh0g, on 15 June 2015 - 10:52 AM, said: ...You'd still need to farm in premiums and lower tiers, just in destroyers and cruisers not in battleships... Like, Let's say a premium earns flat 30% more than a regular ship. This means a BB prem earns 30% more than a normal BB, but like 15% more than a normal cruiser. A premium cruiser earns therefore 45% more credits than a regular BB. You want for regular cruiser to make 15% more profits then regular battleship, because ... reasons? Also you want to force player to farm their money in lower tiers not in the ships they enjoy, but DDs and CAs against, because ... reasons? I mean like the secondaries killing it very fast instead of firing 400 shells hitting with 7 for 1K damage. You want them to be limited after all, beause they were irl, why not making them as strong as irl against smaller ships?
-
Rearming<->Repair + credits earned can be tweaked to make the same profit, no doubt about it. If BBs repairs is much more expensive then DDs, it's fine, but the BB will have to rearm much cheaper and the DD more expensive, so that the pure profit from that battle is the same! You suggest something else however: Bl4ckh0g, on 15 June 2015 - 10:52 AM, said: ...You'd still need to farm in premiums and lower tiers, just in destroyers and cruisers not in battleships... A premium cruiser earns therefore 45% more credits than a regular BB. And that is completely wrong and unfair. Why not, let it be 20x cheaper to repair. But how about spotting it far away and the secondaries taking it out before it's droping the torps? Why not, tiny DD can't have a chance against the mighty Yamato, it's historically accurate after all. It works both ways, you know. If they are limited by economy to serve as high value asset they should rule the seas and that's stupid for the game balance. Would you play DD or CA against something like boss where you need 6-7 other ships and good teamplay to take out a BB? And that's not bot, but player having his fun roflstomping you in the smaller ships.

Just don't get it how smokescreen exactly works?
Sharana replied to Hawkeye__13's topic in Newcomers' Section
The game is scaled. It's out of proportion. Yamato is not 260m long, it's closer to 1km. If you watch your CV planes fly exactly 5km and measure the time with stopwatch to calculate the speed later you will see that they fly with jet speeds compared to the ingame distance they cover. 450m would be something like 1.5-2 DDs lenghts max and the speed is not 40knots compared to the ingame distance, but lots faster. -
1 game on all servers with 500K damage with OP ships in the patch that made it even more OP and the stars were right? As he never came close to it again it proves everything. I saw Yamato game with 400K damage on RU. OP, nerf?

The last part is about the smoke. http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/14258-basics-spotting-mechanics/ -
I'm sorry, but no one cares about expensive BBs IRL. Do people play HT only in WoT or there are mediums, lights and TDs also? Why do players use cruisers and DDs now? That's different playstyles and definition of fun, you can't limit 1 class only with economy, so people play it less. Most of the players like in WoT will play different lines, not only BB, because they will get bored very fast.
-
Every class should farm fair and that's a stupid way to limit the BBs. What if I like BBs more then cruisers and DDs and want to make money with them? I invest the same amont of time and skill, why should I earn less in BB compared to cruiser or DD?
-
Are they going to earn much more money? Because that's the balance - profit after the repair and rearming. And I don't think DDs should be more profitable.
