They don't fly the whole way there, so you can't see them. They just cross the border and drop from outside when they are near the ship, so you can easily see them if you pay attention.

It's a feature - the same as the border sliding. You can save yourself vs not so skilled CVs there, but the skilled ones will use such nasty feature and attack you from outside. Don't want to be attacked from outside? - Don't slide on the border lol, it't not imunity zone there I use it myself to punish CVs or BBs who are trying to hide there, why should it be impossible after the border gives you advantages or you want only one sided advantages? Was the chat after that interesting? Sound funny to kill CV abusing the border by abusing the drop mechanics

I don't know of any other class that is limited to 2 per team as it's designed to have bigger influence then the rest. -
The players who were going for them either stopped at tier 5 and started another line or rush foward as the CV players. Both CVs and DDs are usually minority, but that doesn't make them weak at all, even the opposite as the chances that there is good player controlling them are very high. DDs were always fragile. There were times where the secondariers were annihilating them when they get in range, so no need to use the main guns for them. The accuracy was nerfed to the ground (current levels), because it was not fair for DDs to die to AI when they get close while the BB is shooting other targets, but they were also easy to oneshot with one well aimed salvo. Now even BB HE salvo can't oneshot them which seems very strange considering their destructive power and the DD's armour. So DDs got big survivability boost since alpha, I doubt they shouldn't suffer from modules damage as exchange for that. Also the 5th captain perk is lowering the chance for criticals a lot (34%) and there are perks where you can move and turn even with destroyed engine and rudder .

It's closed info for now (guess why ), so noone can't say for sure. But's it's very likely to be 1 knot difference = 1 dps more or likely even more. Hosho: 30 dps x 57 ammo with 780hp Zuiho: 30 dps x 46 ammo with 970hp The difference is 8 knots, so let's add 8 dps. 38x4 = 152 dps with 3120 hp. 30x4 = 120dps with 3880 hp. You know that air fight is huge RNG, but theoretically Hosho will need 6.4 sec to kill enemy plane, while Zuiho will need 6.5 seconds. They are pretty even with slight advantage for the Hosho, but as RNG is big the Hosho can kill 1 plane in the first 3 seconds and Zuiho is losing 25% of the dps right away, 2nd plane and the battle is over

For now yes. Lexington can fight on even ground against Midway and his jets. And they said it's working as intended! It's the skill that adds bonus dps when attacking faster (higher tier) fighters. Before the higher tier would roflstomp with his fighters, now it would be either draw or even win for the lower tier. That's the reason I don't put the top fighter as they are faster (=weaker), you can only use them to run away or catch bombers.

Make the planes faster like in the higher tiers and they won't fly so long trying to attack you. High tier ships have better AA, because they turn slower, they are bigger targets and the planes are faster, so they can always outrun them even while turning. The low tiers defense is small size and slow planes, not AA to shoot them down. It's the perfect time to learn how to properly dodge and minimise the damage. -

Watched that moviе many times already. Will be DDs OP, nerf plox! After the first encounter with good CV will be OMFG CVs even more OP, remove from the game plox. After a while it will sum up under torps are OP and ruin the entire game. It's game about BBs long range artillery duels after all and everything spoiling that is broken.

You haven't played tier 5+ IJN vs IJN CV probably if you say this It's more then before on this tiers i would say. -

If the brain is not afk you land score 2 to max 3 hits with repairs inbetween on those Arkansas BBs. So it's 3 attack waves at the end which is 10-12 minutes even if you park close. That's why I don't attack ships when I see that they start evading and look for a tunnelvisioned target, so I can farm my damage and make the CVs OP. -
The tier 5 is exactly the old tier 5 as there were no changes there. I played it 1 week ago and had ~70K damage which is OK. But the battles then were 2 vs 2 CVs (you are not free to nuke ship after ship) and there were normal teams of DDs, CAs and few BBs, not majority BBs without AA and slow cruisers like St. Louis. Also I played my Zuiho 12 hours later when there were other CVs already and not only Arkansas BBs, but many other ships too. The result is 92K avg damage instead of his 136K avarage. And as papedipupi is with 89K avarage too I think he played vs other CVs already too and that's lowering the damage. And that should and will be the standart case soon when enough player pass the lower (1-4 tiers) + the OBT. Not to mention that you won't play vs tier 2-4 in your t5 CV always (like now), but you will see tier 7s and higher tier CVs that will ruin your game etc, so the avarage would sink even further. But the case that strike CVs will always be either UP or OP stays and hopefully they will do the same as they did with the higher tiers. That will be more fun for everyone.

Yes, but the Hosho's planes are really slow, while targets turn fast. if they enter circulation you can only follow them, you can get ahead and attack with the right angle, you will need 2nd squadron to actually hit. The high tiers can't do that, they are slower and the planes are faster, so they can reposition for good attack angles even by targets, who already entered circulation. That is compensated with AA that will kill planes while they reposition. If you add the same AA on tier 4 with this slow planes and fast ships it will be impossible to hit targets who actually evade and there are only 8 reserve planes, you can't replenish AA losses like on the mid tiers where they have 48-72 planes in the hangars.

Since when was the HIA tier 4? Turning won't work in high tiers, that's why there are cruisers, fighters and now even float fighters. CVs are threat to everyone not paying attention to planes. My first kills lately are usually DDs who don't think the TBs are for them and the first spread is killing them. -

They are activated on 300m, most are dropped 1 hull's lenght away. You can not and should not dodge them after the torps are in the water. You should avoid the planes and when they drop while you are turning towards them you will be hit my max 1-2 torps per squadron. -

Why do you think it's MM problem? When I tried to play the lwoer tiers week before the wipe 90% of the battles were 2 vs 2 CVs. When you have CV players in the queue they are put together, most of the times there is only 1 waiting. You will force them to wait 10-15 minutes for battle, so both teams get CV now with the low amount of CV players? -

In how many of the battles you got enemy CVs? Not to mention that it was 2vs2 before wipe and will be pretty soon again. The lack of AA is compensated by the low reserves, slow planes and small,agile ships. -
The last you checked they had 2 (Langley) and 3 (Hosho) TB squadrons and they all got tight spread where you can hit with 80% of the torps and oneshot the same tier BB if you were good with the manual drop Now they have 1 (Langley) and 2 (Hosho) TBs and the japanese have huge spread, so that noobs can easily hit 1-2 torps, while skilled players hit 1-2 torps too and don't annihilate noobs. if the damage was the old one it would be joke, because you land far less torps now and they increased it. The damage in avarage hands is pretty much the old one.

Yeah Atago battles are so funny. They expect no planes on that tier and pretty much none of them is with the AA barrage consumable

And the attacking planes were tier 4? Because we are talking about tier 4 games I had yesterday and if it was tier 4 are you focusing your AA?

The PvE IS with very small reward, but there are players who want the old alpha days where you can win almost exactly as much as in PvP, "because they invest the same amount of time". Also there is no PvE and PvP section to divide players, there is only PvP with a training mode for new players. There are plans for the far future (WoT) for PvE like historical battles vs bots and survival waves, but what we have right now is not PvE to consider it as separated gamemode.
