    There are no "scout fighters". There are: - fighters - spotters which job is to increased the max firing distance and change the camera, not attack planes. Some of them do and that's bug. Also you probably focus the most dangerous for you target and that's why it's attackg it, but you can't control the fighter. Even if you focus on enemy fighters your float fighter will go after only the most dangerous bombers and swtich targets, so you can't fool it (too smart as I said, I can fool him only in 1/10 attempts). Also I'm focused probably every game and do that always in other ships. of course it doesn't increase the spread, otherwise there would be no need of cruisers AA fire and BBs would feel protected.

The basic mechanics is still unchanged. The float fighters have ~ the same stats as the same tier fighters (for this nation).

    They use some other values for their calculations, not the ingame kilometers. For example the Shimikaze's 20km torpedoes have max range of "667" something. The 15km torps have max range of "500".The 127mm guns used as AA have max firing range of "167" something again We know that WoT's biggest maps (same engine here) are ~ 1.5 x 1.5 km. When 15 km torps is with range of "500" ... meters then it would make the same map 45 x 45 km (well 48 x 48 as thats the limit). So that's the real distance from the engine's point of view, everything else is scaled.

    To make the whole ship with everything needed it take 2 months for DDs, 4 for CAs and 6 for BBs/CVs. They hinted yesterday that we will get soviet DDs and german CAs during the next 12 months.

    The scouts are bug atm, as only few of them can (they were fighters during the first PT). As he doesn't play CVs at all (CBT pre wipe) it's mistake on his, he probably wanted to say that you give them bad attack angle and they will reposotion (longer under AA, shooting them down). Fighters pick their target alone, but they are really smart, so don't worry there.

    Russian devs explained the economy in their today's stream for OBT. It's planned for a casual player with premium account who is playing ~2 hours per day most of the days to reach tier X for 1 -1.5 months if they aim at it. Player without premium should do the same in 2.5 months. Hardcore gamers can grind tier 1-10 in literally few days. He gave example with the NA server (they got the wipe earlier) where on 29.06 (3 days after the wipe) there was Midway and Yamato already (so not only OP CVs, but poor BBs too).

  8. There was kinetic damage pre 0.3.1 where AP shells were still doing some damage even when they can't penetrate. This was removed and only the fixed values for penetration deal damage, so you no longer see random values.

    Play tier 5-7 with strike setups and learn manual drop with DBs + use fires for maximum damage. Yes sometimes you will meet fighters and you are useless, but the IJN CVs are in the same boat and it's faster to grind on avarage. Then play lexington with 2/1/1 setup and the enemy IJN CVs will have no motivation to play after few encounters.

    The upgraded torpedoes: Umikaze: 0.8km (range 8km, speed 48 knots) Minekaze: 1.3km (range 10km, speed 57 knots) Shimakaze: 2.1km (range 15km, speed 67 knots) The Shimikaze's stock torps (20km) are also spotted from 2.1km, so it's not range based. Sampson: 0.9km (range 4.5km, speed 54 knots) Nicholas: 1.5km (range 5.5km, speed 65 knots) Gearing: 1.6km (range 16.5km, speed 66 knots). Zao: 2.4km (range 8km, speed 76 knots) Gremyashchy: 1.3km (range 8km, 55 knots) I got list with all of them, will input it into the spotting mechanics guide with the update for OBT.

    They get spotter planes ingame after the hull upgrades, the fighters were too OP for them, so only high tier BBs get fighters.

    Hold "CTRL" key and left click on the squadron you want to focus on. This will give you damage boost and you shoot them faster.

    Was avalible before, but only during the first week of CBT. For now the MM can't handle 1 vs 1 CVs and you wan't divisions They will come later if the playerbase is big enough to handle 2 vs 2 CV matches.

    The Shimikadze's 15km torps were spotted at exactly 2km, while Fletcher's 10km torps at 1.6km in the last patch.

    In a long run not. But my first 10 games in Shokaku I had 40% WR compared to 70% on the account. I'm scrub with CVs if you look at them. if he scores 30% less WR in others after 1 000 battles then there will be something wrong yes.

    BBs get fighters in the higher tieres too. They had even on low tiers during the first PT, but that was too much for the CVs as the planes are slow and not enough reserves. The fighters themself are ridiculously smart that will have to change. When there is group of ships and every one is with fighters every one of them will focus on different squadron, so at the end all 3 are screwed (panicked) and useless. When you attack with 2 squadrons lonely target the fighter knows when the first one dropped (in panic) and switches target ASAP so it can panic the other one too just second before it drops too (so 2 squadrons of 8 bombers are useless by 1 single float fighter).

    That was part of removing skill for all. CVs pre 0.3.1 (only USN) did lots of focused damage if they hit = oneshot for full hp BB of the same tier and I was doing it every battle. Veteran BB player could dodge most of them even from same skill level CV, while dodge every single one from avarage CV. So much skill dependancy is no go for WG's game where RNG should help the noob to kill the unicum. So the IJN CVs right now don't have focused damage, so unicums can't nuke the same tier BB in 1 strike anymore, while the spread is so big that even the best BB captains will get some hits even from noob CV no matter how well he evades. That's the reason you probably feel powerless now compared to before, but if you screw up (everyone was doing it in alpha) it would be 1shot, not it won't. Well at least you don't work for WG and they have their game designers. When you remove big guns and most importnat hp from the front line and put support class in the back you have to compensate that lack of hp that can be shared on the first line. How? More damage of course. You don't take arty in WoT and play slowly (to give it time) with less tanks if it won't deal more damage then any other of your tanks. Have you considered the option that very small percent mastered all classes to some level at least. My skill is CV>BB>CA>DD and the reason is that 50-60% of my games since alpha are CVs, 20-30% BBs and the rest CAs and almost no DDs. I don't like their playstyle, don't plan to play them and no need to learn them. I'm scrub with DDs, but if I was forced to grind them in order to unlock the CVs and score my stats with them I would be retarded player in OP class, because my DD stats would be terrible?

    The main reason is the server part. Bigworld can hande such huge online like in WoT (RU servers), it's doubtful for others, so they stay with it. They bought it, so it's improved all the time, 0.4.0 got really nice new graphics.

    First beta weekend without CVs was kinda boring with all those ships camping behind islands and stopping to snipe (WoT players) And to say it again if they wanted to make game about BBs they would make World of Battleships and it wouldn't be WW2 era game. And if they didn't consider CVs vital part of the gameplay they wouldn't invest so much time (money) in designing their gameplay after the other 3 classes were done. 1 year of the game development was pretty much designing the CVs and you have no idea how OP they were in their first reincarnation (well historically strong, but wrong for the gameplay).
  23. As I don't really understand IRL ships to such extensive I was thinking the same. In one of the streams the devs answered that this is the closest to realistic thing they got for the CVs. Yes they carry lots of planes, but they can't get them all in the air at once, there is take off capacity (flight deck space) for such fast taking off in groups. When those planes are in the air the elevators start moving planes from the hangar to the deck to prepare the next wave and that takes time. The planes would strike something 400-500km away, so there is enough time to prepare another wave, launch it and prepare to recover the first. In those small maps there won't be time to even prepare the next wave when the first is comming back, so the service time is pretty much simulating the next wave. So launching 1/3 of the planes at once is very realistic.

  25. Ships are so much easier to spot from air and yet it's not the case in the game. Anyway that will affect only DD hunting and nothing else, the spotting ranges are big on those maps so ships spot each other mosf of the time, so I don't see any changes. Strike CVs know their targets mosf of the time, as everything is spotted, they don't use fighters to spot. If you want to limit them you can suggest fuel (so they don't fly long searching for the best targets) or radio range where you can't hug the border and command your squadrons near the other border killing ships (like range for arty).
