The breakthrough rule was buffed from 1/20 of the calibre to 1/14.3. Cruisers are not armored in the bow and the AP shell pretty much explodes in the citadel as it can't overpenetrate the entire hull's lenght. It was this way pre 0.3.1 when they implemented the armor and messed everything up where cruisers (well not only them) were immune to AP shells and were stomping BBs. No ninja changes it's this way from 0.3.1.4 or .5, I don't remember anymore. It's pretty much the same early CBT situation where BBs were owning cruisers with every hit they make, but the cruisers now use HE and fires to deal their damage on BBs instead of the ridicolous AP penetrations from 155mm guns against BBs.

it was not said standart. USN line will have "standart" general purpose spread like now while the IJN will get inverted spread, no one ever said it will be the current one, but with converging torps. This one is placeholder as they couldn't make the designed one. It will make it to the game when they fix the engine, because now they have rendering bugs with it.

Can we get Accelerated Commander Training soon please?
Sharana replied to VeryRisky's topic in General Discussion
The main thing is you don't have the 2nd loader and radio opetator problems here and I'm very happy about it. -
OK, let's take a look at the video. NC's AA is effective when you focus and evade, so there is time to kill the planes. I'm sorry but he was engaged in shooting with anothership and payed 0 attention to planes. But even then: He is 55K hp when 2 TB squadrons attack his broadside as he was doing nothig, he was not even focusing them to kill planes and get less torps in the water. So after the TB attack he is left with 35K hp ... 2 squadrons (1CV) inflicted 20K damage and then he catches that Atago torpedo for 13K damage and is left with 22K hp. He wasted his damage control on 1 simple fire right before the TBs attack, so now he is flooding because of this mistake. Now there is 3rd TB squadron attacking his broadside doing ... 4K damage and he is 18K now. He doesn't rotate the camera to look for threaths, he doesn't focus AA on the next 4th TB squadron comming and it was from tier 6 CV. If it was focused 10-15 seconds ago it wouldn't drop a single torpedo. Because of the flooding he was down to 12K hp and 2 torps killed him. So he was attacked by Atago with torps + 2 CVs with 4 TB squadrons total with him wasting his damage control, not paying attention to the planes and not focusing his AA. That should prove us he played right and CVs are OP?

Never really played WoWp, I speak about WoT. No but you can insert any captain there without the need to retrain it, so you can still gather exp on the captain you need (any class) while farming credits. -
Yes that's what this modules does. Some ships like Yamato rotate them for 72sec. It's better to fire slower, but be able to aim them, otherwise when you turn the hull they can't follow.

This is your personal opinion, but mine and those of the majority is that 1 captain is better then "crew". WG likes it more too. Also the accelerated crew was giving the exp from the battle to the crew member that was behind others (like killed driver that wouldn't get exp in that battle), so the overal preogression was not really accelerated so much. Here you can have CV captain in DD premium without the need to retrain it, so you can farm exp in any premium ship. Accelerated training would be 2x and it's so far away from 2x faster in WoT. -

The main job of this accelerated training was to even out the exp between the crew members, so they progress equally fast. We have only 1 captain in WoWs, so such feature is not planned. -
Exactly the new spread that was planned from start, but the engine still can't do it (rendering bug). It's rumored to be like this where the red line is the arming distance, so you see how far away they would probably be dropped in order to achieve tight spread. Point blank drop will score 1, max 2 hits, but with big lead if you score all torps you will make 1shot ... but the brain of the target will have to be afk, so no need of damage nerf in this case. The USN CVs are planned to stay with their current spread, so they can still do the same 1shots in the higher tiers ... from point blank range if the damage is not nerfed.

Carriers are OP, Battleships are OP, Cruisers are OP, Destroyers are OP

What should be ending? BBs are the weakest class and only 7 OP CVs... On a serious noye it will take a while. All new waves of players (alpha, beta) started with the mighy battleships expecting to roflstomp the smaller ships... -
Oh they had AP bombs ... 3 DB squadrons r..... Yamato in a few seconds was ... realistic ] The AP bombs will come back and there are good chances it will still be 2015. So expect rebalance of the torpedoes at this points. Will be great if torps get nerfed (the new planned IJN spread) with AP bombs for the DBs, so you pull out combined attacks for the same effect. No idea how are they going to balance Essex and Midway if they add AP bombs without nerfing the torps a lot (they won't change their tight spread).

CVs are clear, but there are Iowa and Izumo guys and they didn't spent time farming credits in low tiers or premium ships, they just advance. So yeah you make more money here and the economy is scaled on the mid-high tiers at least, so you need less battle (same gaming time as the games are longer). The flags are really big deal too, some very good battle with the flag was making like 700-800K credits on tier X pre wipe.
-
Because of the flags (you can earn 20 per day) which will be sold in the future you can advance much faster. Credits are slowing it down if you use flags, so you either buy high tier premium ship or play more battles. Some ships also farm very good. CVs right now make much more then they are supposed, so I play 2 times less battles then intended (50% flags fro every battle tier 6+) and I still have extra money left when I buy the next ship. If I was playing without flags I would have 30 000 000 credits left after I buy the tier 8.

You dropped them too close and they had no time to arm. http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/7608-guide-basic-cv-gameplay/

Well that's exactly what Essex and Midway do and even 5/3 Hakuryu couldn't do so much focused damage ... but the IJN strike CVs are OP
-
It's superior STIKE loadout, because USN TBs are better and with 0.4.0 the Taiho and Hakuryu lost their strike setups, now they have max 3 TBs. 2 TBs + 2 DBs from Midway can 1shot Yamato, 3 TBs + 4 DBs on Hakuryu can't. Because of that the IJN CVs get balanced loadouts like 3/2/2 on Taiho and 4/2/2 on Hakuryu where the fighters are finally not so weak compared to the americans. So the balanced setups go for high tier IJN CVs and the strike USN CVs will think how to hide their bombers from fighters.
-
Found this Aerroon's video of 2/3 Midway. This is how you use DBs. The end results it: 167 401 damage from 25 torps hits + 13 floodings. 115 302 damage from 26 bomb hits + 14 fires
-
1) MM is on my side this time, free farm for my strike CV, because the next game will probably be 1 vs 2 CVs where I'm alone. 2) On low tiers Yubari and ignore tier 4+ cruisers if they have fighter in the air. 3) If I'm the only CV in that game almost always on the top. 4) Mainly enemy CVs, sometimes DDs. Others have to pass through the wall of ships first. 5) If you speak about avarage damage it would always be CV a strike as it's desighned to be this way. On the lower tier games the carry potential is CV->DD->BB->CA. In WoT unicums carry in tier high tier medium tanks, so there will always be class that impacts the outcome more then others.
-
I meet DD captains that keep outsmarting me now and then, but it's rare. To kill a Sims in my Shokaku I need 3 torpedo hits if I don't hit the middle section (then 2), so even anvil attack will give me 1 hit, had Sims that dodged even it as it went almost broadside through the spread. That of IJN and for the small DDs of course, the high tier ones (esp the IJN) are long enough and much easier to hit.
-
Manual drops score more hits on BBs and CVs, so if that's different sections then you have few fires 1-3. DBs can never be primary damage dealers and they are useless in air superiority loadouts. Use the full strike one and play smart to utilise the fire damage, not only the bomb damage. In this case you can come close to strike Zuiho.

The chance for such mode to be created are the same as the artyfree gamemod in WoT

The players rushing the CV line and sailing with tier VIII+ are the old alpha/beta dedicated CV captains. You will have hard time finding bad stats for such CVs at the moment. -
Carriers are OP, Battleships are OP, Cruisers are OP, Destroyers are OP
Sharana replied to Ectar_'s topic in General Discussion
It will because of 2 reasons: - you are protected and the chances to be sniped drop exponentially. That mean no 0 damage games and you will probably take out the enemy CV (if he is not in division and unescorted by random cruisers). In this case you are unopposed, so free to move closer and strike faster (dpm) + no fighters to think about = ideal situation. - they won't make mindless rush and die fast and if the game is going bad they will buy you time. 1 attack more on avarage will be 10-15K damage more. -
It's explained very clearly - this is no WoT and there are no spotting points.
