Haven't driven Mogami, so i can't comment on that. Agato has better AA by the looks (quite considerably). -

Thanks for clarification. Agato seems alot better anyway, so i'm sad that a unique/novel ship is gone, but happy that there's a IJN premium that's worth it now. -

Well. One would need to keep in mind how much water a shipsection can take. Try flooding your house (completely) just by using one tab. Then you might understand why flooding damage doesn't really make sense.

That's why "recreation" with me is so incredibly expensive then. And no, in the end, it should balance out to +-0. They're both equally expensive/cheap to run, apart from premiums.

Let's get some things straight here, since your reading comprehension is either bad or i didn't make myself clear even when i clarified a couple of times. First: you're assuming i have yet to meet a decent player. Might certainly be. But why exactly are you convinced that i have not? As i said i killed Ibukis and Baltimores, with relative ease - and they at least have alot more experience than me. And i'm bad with BBs full stop. You're trying to paint a picture here, me being a decent BB player whereas i have yet to meet a good cruisercaptain. That's wrong. I'm plain bad with BBs (and my stats show it), so all there is to it is that i meet people on the same level at best for your argument. Next, you're on about armament. Which i made clear that it isn't the issue, i couldn't care less if i do damage to BBs or not if i'm in a cruiser. It doesn't get clearer than this now, so please try and stay away from that re-occurring strawman. I hope that's clear now. So in that regard, again, it doesn't matter if it's a CA or CL. It's about trying to accomplish what you're supposed to do. Who cares what you think the game is about? You're playing a closed beta, which is supposed for exactly that: iron out what isn't in-line with what they envision for the game. What you DO want, is the status quo: BBs being heads and heels above other classes. I don't even mind, as long as i can play a class as intended, i can deal with BBs being the matchwinners. Which i can't. Again: nobody cares if you think that it's okay as is. Cruisers have a role that was defined by WG, which they can't accomplish. The CBT is to get there. There's also a way to encourage escorts btw, buff TBs again. 1,5x the speed, manual drop back to what it was prior to the patch - turning radius for BBs back to more realistic figures. In short: BBs being chanceless against CVs. Like they were two patches ago, and literally every single person in this forum that played either CV or BB told cruisers to escort. Just give me time to leave the forum, drowning in tears of BB captains isn't how i intend to leave this world. Since there's literally ZERO difference between CA and CL for what i'm saying (guns don't matter, and before you say it: armor against BBs doesn't either - CAs got armor to deal with CLs, which isn't argued), .. but nice strawman. -
You also get more credits when hitting with a 122mm shell. That's where it evens out for normal tanks (premiums it's a bit different, AMX 50/CDC and Jagtiger 8.8 are considered best creditmakers because they only pay 250 creds per shell, all the others pay at least 1000). Maybe i misunderstood you there now.

Because there's cruiser on lower tiers too, even above tier 2 and 3. -
They won't adjust it class by class, but just go 40% less XP and credits for all classes. 40% being a number i pulled out of my nose.

Nah, i never said people would avoid BBs. They're the strongest shipclass ingame, who cares about the economy behind it - those numbers won't adjust if you fiddle with game-economics. People would just get a Sims or a Bismarck later down the line, have a single match and get out basically all the "-" they make that day. To me it's a principle thing, you shouldn't favour classes over others (..). Especially in terms of economy, all classes should be equal - they have to pay the same prices for stuff like modules too.

Considering the average damage in the new mexico and seeing that pretty much all the kills are against cruisers (including baltimores and ibukis), yeah, i assume i can judge the "balance" on that tier +-4. And again, you're trying to classify ships as CAs and CLs, which doesn't happen in the game so far. There's a cruiser line. There's a cruiser role. There's a BB line. There's a BB role. There's a DD line. There's a DD role. I assume you get the picture. Apart from the obvious fact that yet again you try to judge what a CA is and what not - even though the two ships in question are not just CAs by IJN standards, but by US standards as well. They're heavy cruisers in reality, doesn't matter how much you want to iron out the fact that you missed them the first time around. I don't know what a dunning kruger is, but i assume that goes both ways. Secondly: cute. Devils advocate. How about you tell me how it works, because you obviously are arrogant enough that you assume you could do it? And it's not that i fail when i try "tactics" (strategy btw) that don't work - it's part of the role of cruisers. It even is fudging explained on the WoWs main page, so who were you again to tell me that it's not what they're supposed to do? If it doesn't work, it's due to balance of some things, one of which is the point i was making X postings ago. Escorting and AA cover is exactly what their intended role is. Feel free to argue with WG though, maybe they listen to your proposal for a cruiser role. -
I beg to differ. If you create a scenario totally in favor of the HT, then yes. But that's not how MTs get played. There's a reason why the highest damages achieved in WoT are pretty much all on either MTs or TDs. Usually as a heavy, you don't even see the MT that killed you - it's just morons that drive their Leopard 1s into the front line, thinking that somehow that's a good idea. Every single class can take out another one with ease, if played to its conditions. That includes light vs heavy, arty aside. That's totally off topic though. I think i agree with the point you were trying to make. edit: completely on topic though: nah. Repaircosts etc should stay the same for all classes (i think in WoT it differs by up to max. 10% between classes?). What i would suggest though is that other classes get more income per point of damage compared to BBs and CVs, since they usually don't even get close to those numbers.

No, i don't. What's happening here is that you still try to force your personal definition down other peoples throats. There's only "cruisers" in game, we can talk again if they implement the system you're trying to advocate. Cruiser is cruiser, it doesn't matter if i short it CA or CL, CL, CLX or whatever. Same in WoT, T54 are classified as medium tanks, not MBTs which they are. You wan't realism against cruisers? Sure. Lets get back to realism for carriers against BBs - how about that? No? I certainly thought so. And vice versa, i'd like you to show me a match where you escort your BBs and DON'T get into range of enemy BBs while still providing aircover (fyi, that's 4km max around your BB - and obviously not BEHIND it, because it makes zero sense to shoot down the planes that just sunk your BB). I'm curious. edit: Thanks for proving my point. 6 out of 20. -

You do realize that i play BBs as well? I see what my new mexico does to CAs. I'd like you to do a realitycheck, please do me a favor and count how many cruisers have a range >16km. You'll be surprised, by the looks. Apart from the obvious fact that you don't even realize that i don't want to sink BBs, i want to be able to escort my own without blowing up immediately. See the difference? -

Let me quote myself, since you obviously forgot what i wrote or ignored it conveniently. edit, nvm, just saw what you're driving. I promised myself not to get into arguments with people who purely drive a single class and try to defend stupid mechanics. PS: fire was a problem that was acknowledged by WG, that's why they nerfed fire chance and HE damage. Of course, one needs to be able to twoshot CAs from every angle as well, as a BB. People who play more than BBs might disagree though. -

Because gameplay? You can't dodge BB range forever in a CA, there has to be some mechanic to at least make you survive a bit. I know that pure BB player generally have the opinion that everything that goes FOR them has to be historical, but if it's something that works against them, it should be more gameplay-oriented - but that works two ways. Yes, in reality, a shell going through the length of the ship instead of the side will do more "cosmetic" damage. But guess what, that doesn't/didn't happen in real life. In real life, broadside to broadside, ships had a 3-5% hitrate, judging by that you shouldn't be able to hit a CA head on period. Now i'm not saying "you shouldn't", because gameplay trumps historical stuff for that matter - but the same goes for damage frontally. Especially if you play as a CA that likes teamwork, you have to have a mechanic to not be taken out by a BB at 17km range because you escorted one of your BBs. And you will always, always always always be the priority target, simply because it's so stupendously easy to delete a CA. Most of the game is balanced around gameplay first, and in that case it should be done too. If you literally have to stay 22km away from every BB around you, i don't know what you think: i think it's a retarded concept. I'd rather have the option to head on/away from a BB, and take less damage (not no damage, but 15k per salvo, or at least 30% of my health is stupid) instead of simply staying away from every BB including my own(!). That's just dumb and makes for really stupid gameplay. -

If you receive 18k hits, but can't dish them out, the problem is not AP being too weak. Can't really if it's a Nagato-problem since i'm not driving it, but with my new mexico, i have an average damage of i think 75ishk, and i exclusively shoot AP. -

Well, i have pretty good stats on my arties (at least the one i played most), so i assume i know how to - i do think that you mistake "common sense" and/or "mapknowledge" with skill. And sadly no, no AW so far, will take a look as soon as i can though. Otherwise, lets take it to PM if needed, i agree to not go offtopic (further).
