I like them allot. Aoba is a nice ship with good guns but all ijn cruisers easyly die if they get focused, so stay behind a lead ship and let loose.

Just don't rush to fully cap right at the start. There just is no need. Why play a game with warships when you gladly avoid battle? Yes i know a winning objective is cap. But you don't have to be a party pooper and cap right away. Just use it to later in the game ensure a win so we get to fight. I do play to win but not by capping the first minute. Why then even spend time geting ready and sail into a good strategic position and engage in battle? So irritating wheb someone caps after 4 mins. There are atleast two groups of people here it seems. 1: Play only for wins, fine with no or little battle 2: Play for wins but mainly by doing battle (me included) 3: Just sailing ships no clue of strategy and rather loose by chasing 1 ship with 5 friendlies and lose. I am a number 2 and i will never like the type 1 & 3 people. P.s. TDM without timer id a stupid proposal. That is not TDM that is called "the chase"

Personaly i hate those fast caps. Yes i play to win, but if possible i want to win by being better in battle, not by being the first one to win by cap. I don't play those warships with awesome weaponry to sit in a cap zone. I want to do battle. It does not mean i never cap though. I do when the enemy is just to far away for me to reach or if a cap is the last but sure (ish) way to win or when the last remaining enemies run away i cap to shorten the game. So yeh, i get why people get upset when you go and cap the first few mins and win a game where in total 4 ships were sunk.

With the current HE rounds, even after the recent change the 155's spamming HE are still far superior in allmost every scenario. The RoF to deal with fast DD's and the yes the chance of fire is lower but it also shoots 50%, 6rpm vs 4rpm, faster and has 50% 15 vs 10 more guns this aproximate dpm difference with ap (he is lower totals but gap is similar in effect )332k vs 208k wrecks BB's With the turret turn skill they turn allmost as fast if not slightly faster. The only times the 203's are better now is vs cruisers at a favourable angle and not all too far away so you can reliable pen them. And i am a big 203 fan, but in todays meta the 155's with HE are just better most of the time.

After todays patch suddenly my contact list is empty. Looked trough the pages and also tried to log in and out. Anyone else has this issue?

The ricocet chance might be lower but i now get allot of 0 dmg hits instead. And yes allot of 0.8-1k dmg hits. Also had numerous 4-6 shell hits do a measely 1-1,5k damage. I still mainly use AP on my BB and HE on my cruisers with Ap being used when i am quite sure i can hit citadels.

Not true. Killed a cleve with my Aoba. Shoot at the waterline below the turrets and you citadel pretty easely.

Was a good buff. I use Ap allot more now. As for close range in a BB, for me that is very good. Shoot at the waterline and see the citadels roll in . New Mexico at close range is just epic. Edit: Seems like HE is still the allround ammo with AP only for those times you rally have a good shot at someone broadside.

I allways liked the 203's more but after that insane HE buff i had to go back to the 155's. Now that Ap is allot more viable i am inclined to try the 203's again. Also you use those 203's from tier 5-10 so you get a very good feeling for them.

When sailing a BB i allmost never use HE. Becourse it can troll you harder then AP does. HE from a BB often does no damage at all and max damage is just way lower. I will use AP in my cruisers vs other cruisers if angles are good it can be very effective. -

Fyi i find the Cleveland has very good armor and is hard to citadel as the citadel is small. Drove the Pensacola yesterday and those 203's did like 1k per shell hit(6k salvo's) with ap on a Nagato but that was close range and above the belt. But as soon as he turned the sligtest the damage droped to 600 for a full broadside so swapped to HE again. Edit. Generaly i allways use HE against BB's and DD and AP vs cruisers only if the angle is good. -

But ofcourse i have. Tier 5,6 and 7. And cruiser numbers and sometimes DD numbers especialy at t7 are quite equal. Edit: was even in a game with just 3 BB's on each side yesterday evening. Rest were cruisers and DD's and 2 cv's on each side -

That was mainly becourse everyone wanted to play the new us BB's. Last week numbers came down a whole lot. Those numbers you show are not a representative of now. The hype wore off and now people play everything again. Quite allot of dd's and Ctuisers in each battle. -

Huh? Barely see any other types of ship? I don't know what you have done the last week but i see a decrease in BB numbers. Now very often i see just as many cruisers and DD's also started to increase in numbers again. -

Furutaka a bad ship? No, just no. Yes it has slow turrets and RoF but she puts down allot of hurt with each broadside. If you don't like her chances as good that you won't like the Aoba and Myoko either. Perhaps you should try the US Cruisers instead. For me tier 3 BB's on both sides are a pain.

I have had the same happen. Single click and a full broadside flies trough the air. It is normal for all guns to reload to the different ammo though even when you shoot one salvo though. The radiolines look fine on high settings, at lower they do look poor, so do the railings. But that is how graphics in a game work. Increase AA to make them look better

So, after todays patch where suposedly HE nolonger ignores armor, we should now have allot better scaled HE shell i think? And i gues they don't do more direct damage against a BB then AP would at range? If that is the case i think life of a BB will get easier, since fire alone was not that big of a problem, but the HE direct damage was. I never had fire do more damage then the direct HE damage, not even remotely close. The closest was maybe 23% but normaly much lower since the direct damage killed a ship before you got to stack it enough times countered with repair etc. At work now so i am super curious to see how this works in reality. Edit: Saw the patchnotes and nothing about the HE armor fix.

the biggest issue for me is the bounce chance. If the enemy is at ove that 30deg angle you suddenly do allot of 0 dmg hits. Also the HE on a BB is very weak compared to cruisers. So if a n enemy ship angles or simply manouvers well you are very much at the enemies mercy. Especialy against cruisers at 8-12 km i think a BB is at a disadvantage. Battleships for me are best against other battleships I feel. Against anything less the damage is just too unreliable. I mainly play cruisers though. I am sure things will be atempted rebalanced with the next big patch. -
Doesn't need to go faster imo. Too fast and people get it to quick and then cry there is not enough skills to use xp on.

Not a 100% sure but i think she sees tier 5 at max. If she sees t6 it sure is very-very seldom.

1 vs 1 i think IJN are weaker tier for tier except for tier 7 and 8. The IJN cruisers generaly have a lower RoF, lower turret traverse, larger turning circle, bigger citadels, less good armor, and are pretty big/long. That said i think the only real problem is tier 6 and 10. Especialy with the HE of today. Cleveland has insane armor for it's tier and a high RoF. Tier 10 sees the US ship with double the RoF and that matters allot. On tier 7 and 8 i think the favor is on the IJN side. becourse both Pensacola and New Orleans are easely citadelled. The torpedoes are very situational but have their uses. Both for damage as well as to push the enemy on a defensive manouver. All in all i prefer the IJN cruisers and i don't really care they are weaker in a direct gunfight. I like them and play them for what they are and am having a ton of fun.
