Just started playing, now sailing a Wyoming.
My thoughts on battleship so far?
Pro's:
Big guns that might do massive damage.
Able to repair damge.
Cons:
Slow
Low manouverability.
A big target.
Very inaccurate guns.
Slowly turning turrets.
Low damage.
Spotted from far far away.
So far i'm all but impressed by the king of the battlefield..
Sure, big guns could mean big damage, but so far i see many cruisers easily outdamaging battleships.
Also, due to their size and low manoueverability, they are a prime target for any ship with torpedoes and carriers.
I understand how destroyers are supposed to be glass cannons, and need their role on the battlefield, and how a battleship needs support, but no support can help against a fast moving DD taking a shot against a BB.
BB's are extremely vulnerable against DD's and CV's while expected to fight off other BB's and cruisers. Those 2 should be enough to negate their potential OPness, DD's and CV's are just the nail in the coffin.
I'm not whining here, these are my observations. To me it seems BB's need some loving. DD's are fun to play and are quite vulnerablebut have speed and smoke as defense. All BB's seem to have is a lot of hitpoints, but those disappear very fast.
Your thoughts?
(BB=Battleship, DD=Destroyer, CV=Carrier, was too lazy to type it out)
