seedz replied to seedz's topic in Vidéos, Livestream et replays

[Feature suggestion] Ability to retrain commanders before buying a ship
seedz posted a topic in General Discussion
Hi ! As the title suggests, this is a pretty simple feature : having the ability the retrain your commander to a ship before buying said ship (but after it's researched) Say i'm moving up a ship, for exemple the Iowa from the North Caro. I don't have enough credits to buy the Iowa even after selling the North Caro, and i have a premium ship. I'd be then be able to train the old North Caro commander to the Iowa before buying it, place that commander in my premium ship and roll until i get the credits. Most likely, my commander will be retrained when finally having the credits, and i would be able to enjoy my brand new Iowa without having to farm the premium ship again. We had the same kind of thing in World of Tanks, where you could select a tank to retrain a crew member to via droplists. -

seedz replied to seedz's topic in General Discussion
As this is only possible when you have premium ships, It means the $$$ have already been spent.Plus, the people who don't want to spend so much time retraining will still skip it with doubloons. (Or you're really a masochist player farming the Albany like a madman :p ) -
Hi ! I'd like to share my experience on the ranked system this season. As a mini intro, i'll just say that i played the beta, I played just a bit after release to the middle of test season and then stopped playing, for different reasons. I came back into the game shortly after New Year's, and had quite a lot of expectations about the ranked games. What I expected from ranked games : teamplay, epic battles, hard battles with everyone doing their best. I also expected being able to battle with the best players and hone my own skills. I know i'm not a really good player, but I consider myself in the upper part of the player base, a quick view at my stats in random will maybe confirm that. What happened in this season then ? I played from the start, rank 22, and upped really fast. I had some terrible games before rank 15, where no matter how much I did i'd loose, but i was expecting that, it's the starter ranks after all. I then hit rank 15, It was getting a little more tense, I started to have good feelings about this. Getting rank 10 was fairly easy, I think I was among the first as queues were quite empty for 2 or 3 days. I was really enjoyed by the games. There were no "one sided" battles, they were all tense for the good reasons, team play, communication, the losses were enjoyable. At rank 5, I was at around 120 games and 70% Win Ratio, but it was empty. I then decided to wait a week before getting back into these so that rank 5+ would fill up. I ended waiting a week and a half, being sucked into other games (I built so many cities and settlements in two games, one from paradox the other from bethesda, if you know what i mean). I then played again in ranked. It had became horrible. Team play had disappeared, suiciding / camping players were everywhere, ... The games had become one sided games. You either crush the ennemy or you get crushed, no matter what you do. I had maybe 3 close games that were very enjoyable, but now, even wins are boring. Ranked are no longer a test of skill but a pure test of patience. I'm now at 500+ battles in ranked, and it has been a nightmare for the most part. The good players seem to have either made it to rank 1 long ago or have given up all hope. A good part of the players in this game come from World of Tanks. We asked over there to get some kind of ranking system. You gave us Ranked in here, but you failed terribly. The problem is that players that hit rank 1 disappear from the ranked games completely after hitting said rank, meaning that with time, the average level of the players in ranked will decay - by a lot. I've heard of the rumors about the changes on RU server (seen there http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/43404-leaked-info-about-new-rb-rules-interesting/ ) but i' don't like them. I feel it's just trying to heal the symptoms instead of curing the problem. For me, ranked should be ranked during the whole season, to get the chance to slug it out with players of your level of slightly above, not just random 2.0 What I am suggesting is this : - make new rewards based on both rank and number of battles (this is some kind of "carrot" to keep players interested, you all know we need these) new rewards could be set at a minimum number of battles per week, 10-15 for exemple, to not make it just another farm fest. Rewards could then be awarded weekly too, depending on the direct rank or on the bracket - players hitting rank 1 shouldn't be excluded - no rank should be irrevocable - the rank you get the next season would depend a bit better on your last season one. 22 - 15 would restart at 22, 15-7 at 15, and 7-1 at 10 (exemple) That way, ranked would be an enjoyable experience for everyone. And you wouldn't need a complex system with XP based star loss / gain like has been talked recently. My problem isn't to win or loose, my biggest problem is that it's now either boring or frustrating, in short, Ranked are a pain.

First try at ranked, and why it is deeply flawed.

Guess i'm the only one thinking ranked should be true ranked ? -
Nope.I once lost all of the 4 turrets on my new mex from 2 volleys from an ennemy new mex. And i'll never know how the guy trashed my back turrets when he had to go through the castle (the part above the hull where usually your staff sits), because i was straight to him at less than 8km But at least, i rammed him from full health, i was almost dead and had killed all of his cruiser escorts anyway :p To get back to the original subject, detonations happen, and you can also aim for them (shooting under the turrets). The best one i did was detonating an 3/4 HP Amagi in my North Caro. The dude was sailing broadside to me at 6km, i just aimed for the "front" of the citadel area, and boom.

Capping is OP. proof : This is a game where i did 50k damage in total, with no premium, but with the x1.5. 3700+ base XP

Don't really remember the exact total of games, but remember having 70% WR when I reached r5. I should have taken a screen after all :'D The only screens i can find are the ones were I was waiting for ranked at rank 10 with not that many players (got a screen where we were 3 after 30min) dating from the 15/01 -
Cuirassés: reservé à l'élite? débutants passez votre chemin?
seedz replied to KPblCOB's topic in Expérience de jeu

Well, I completely changed the poll to make it a bit more accurate / able to represent all the ideas i've seen so far. The votes already there were wiped, wich amounts to a wooping total of 8 voters. THIS IS THE FINAL POLL DOWN ! (admit it, you just read that singing in your head) -

I don't really like the direct Win Ratio being a thing in allowing players in ranked or not. I've seen sub 50% players do really well and listen to good players, and players above 50% go completely nuts. Thanks for your input -
At least you know you did something right yourself
seedz replied to TheJezna's topic in General Discussion
THIS.Sadly, this is so true. I've seen countless BBs just hanging in the back trying to snipe all the game, while the rest of the team gets crushed (DDs and cruisers) getting top XP at the end just because.. They were the last ones alive and then finally managed to land shots. -

By the way, I just edited the poll I don't know if the ones that already voted can change their vote or not, but it's done. Also added some precisions on the suggested changes. -

I think you missed the point i'm making. The problem isn't really the scoring in itself. I'd even go as far as saying that the scoring is fine. The problem really lies in the fact that people making it to rank 1 simply disappear over time, leading to a loss in the average player level in the long run. That phenomenon allows for "bad" players being able to make it to the top of the ranks, with all the things it implies (loss of team play, useless suicide runs, clueless sailing, etc), including the fact that ranked, after a somewhat short time, becomes just like random games, but in a 7v7 scenario. WG wanted everyone having the chance to get rewards, at the price of taking all the fun and enjoyment away from the good players. I was promised challenge, I got headaches and frustration. At least, I had the chance to get to know the good side of ranked.. the 2 days I ranked from 10 to 5, when I was slugging it out with good players against good players. Even losses fell absurdly good at that time. Yup, i feel you. I can't imagine how bad it can be on the lower ranks. I myself was able to get 4 times to rank 2, to end miserably falling back to rank 5 again, getting the wrong side for repeated times. -
to OP : it's just a title that reflects your number of posts of the forums, like every forum have since... at least 2005 I'd say Dude, F* You !I see it too now

NO ! Don't take Kongo-Sama from us ! NEVAAAAAAAAR :p

Because the server is supposed to be reset every Friday @ 5:00 CEST, from the Worldofwarships main web site Maybe it translates to 4:00 CET (as in, 30min ago, when you posted your post :p)

use Task Manager and kill the WoWS process, you'll be able to launch much quicker"ctrl + alt + del" But i could understand why someone would have to reboot their PC on a crash. Sometimes when WoWS crashes on me, it stays open in the "front", and Task Manager would be hidden behind. If i didn't have a second monitor and did "Windows + arrow key" to move the Task Manager window around (to the other screen), i'd be screwed.
