  1. After a certain number of bad games you become frustrated and start to play worse, perhaps recklessly, making silly mistakes....aka going fill tilt. This exacerbates the issue and in turn causes more bad games. Best to give it a rest and try again. Playing while frustrated leads to more frustration.
  2. Nah, don't worry about returning the karma, let it be a lesson to me for being a grumpy noob. I knew the risks when I travelled so close to the C cap and I took the risk anyways. I had expected to see a dd or cruiser coming through the gap, but when I saw a great big looming BB sneak through the gap I soiled my trousers, haha. It was a gamble I lost...
  3. I know what I said but if you were reported it wasn't me, so if you lost karma points maybe you had irritated some other player in our team incidentally. If this sounds like an excuse, it isn't. I don't think I have ever reported a forumite yet - well maybe once for those that are exceptionally 'dubious'. It was very annoying being angled away from you, turning still and slowing down rapidly to try avoid some shells and then to see your full NC broadside hit me with 8 of your 9 shells grouped so closely together you couldn't tell them apart. Only one of your shells went stray, but the rest were all very very tightly grouped and hit my stern. In terms of rng luck, this was extreme, and in terms of fun for me, well it wasn't and I simply wasn't in the mood to be friendly about it either, sorry. Being deleted from a game within a minute of it starting is not something I relish, especially from a BB (with which I have major issues in the game at present. Too many of them, which irritates me). Be thankful that I was simply a little blunt, because the way I truly felt at that moment was pure salt rubbed into a raw wound. Glad you had a good game, but at least my team won so it wasn't that bad for me at the end. Justice was poetic from a personal sense, haha.

Something needs to be done about BBs.

Personally I would love to see BB's hit with the massive rng hammer, or more dispersion forcing them to fight closer so they can't take long range shots with the ease they do it now. Secondly, I'd love to see BB's numbers capped because too many of them are screwing up the game because every Tom, [edited]and idiot is playing them continuously. We see too many in battle all the time. Battleships are nice to play, are very forgiving, letting others do all the hard wrk of spotting for pitiful rewards while BB's get to sit back and relax. No wonder everyone is playing them because less skill is required. No buffs or nerfs are really necessary to be honest, but if nothing is done to cap the numbers somehow the game is going to dive since its just ruining the dynamics of the game and the versatility of ship to ship battle. A fair few battleships in game, a cv or two and you have a game no dd or cruiser fits into. The sad part is WG are slow to comment on this, and we've had no word edgeways from them about this very common complaint. I wish I had the answer, but that's not my job, that's WG's job to sort out and sort it out they had better do, and fast.
  5. The 'RNG evens out after thousands of games'? Please do tell us how you know how the 'RNG' evens out and what factor of the RNG are you refering to? The MM, the RNG ingame, the W/L ratio, etc.? Blanket statements are simply too convenient and misleading, and the fact someone actually agreed with you is mindblowing. Oh, and I know all about the 'coin toss' theory too, I'm simply inferring you make a generalisation so vast it incorporates elements that are simply not to be included. You may have a notion what could' or 'should' happen, but there is no way you can assume this predictively. Too much luck involved and we already all know that the MM itself is not truly random is it? It's only part random and no-one knows what aspects control the RNG ingame. As for the player being the only constant, yes, this is true, but is the player the sole factor determining his win / loss most of the time? No. Skill helps, skilled divisions help more (as seen in WOT and players farming nice WR's), and luck and rng are variants that no-one can predict accurately. They can only theorise this and theoretically this may be the case as you say, but this is not a coin toss neither, this game like many others has programmed features the likes of which none of us know and as such cannot and should not make any assumptions. It all depends on how random we assume it is and how random it all truly is, and I simply think too many here are assuming far too much, and this shows a lack of understanding and experience. It's easy for some to say 'it evens out over so many battles'. Perhaps randomness with minimalistic human intervention, but in this game there are 23 other human players, of which some could be divisioned, there is ingame rng, there is the MM and all it's unknowns, and there is human code running the show. Not random as much as we think it is, with too many external and internal factors. Therefore the 'even out' theory is relatively weak. Statements like this should only be made once all factors are known and fully understood, this means an in depth knowledge. This is certainly not a controlled environment enough to assume that everything runs as it theoretically should.

    Weekend Self-Help Group

What we have here is a typical weekend player admitting he is a weekend player, and you all know how we feel about weekend players? Burn him at the stake, NOW!
  7. I have 3 friends that have done so, you want me to name them? I know of a few more who have become disillusioned because of it. One of the reasons they left was for this reason anyhow, and now I play mostly solo. Pity though, although I reckon they'd hate it even more if they returned now seeing the abundance of BB's dominating every match. I'm at the point of leaving myself due to the BB plague. Just too many of them in every game. You can't use a cv because of the OP state of AA and DD's are spotted by radar a lot of the time. All in all I think the balance in the game needs some serious looking into because other than lower tiers the game is becoming real crap at higher tiers alround. The only real thing keeping me in the game was ranked battles, with real incentives to winning and an end game of sorts. Now after ranked back in randoms the real state of the game becomes apparent, with high costs for repair, premium ships that appear to be earning less credits on average, battleships dominating all games with too many numbers, lack of the rework needed on CV's, stock ships going into battles against fully kitted out ships two tiers higher, powercreep so many older ships on the grind are outclassed on many levels by newer ships, and so on. I think I just spoke myself out of playing again, lol/.

    Your point being?

    how to play brits

Explain to me how you can be a 'second line boat' when you have firing ranges almost as short as a dd? This makes the ships absolutely pointless. The only saving grace is it gets better after tier 7.
  10. The whole thing here sounds really really suspect on your part, and I am not sure your intentions (from the sounds of it) are honourable. No-one here can help you and your best bet is to email support, but since you've admitted setting up fake details on paypal already sounds to me like you as not telling the whole truth, especially if the guy has opened a case against you? You need to realise there is a virtual paper trail of all activities on paypal, they can and will find out who you are. That said, Paypal are terrible when it comes to cases involving virtual items and from personal experience where I was once ripped off by someone who has done similar to what you have done and they won because paypal does not support the sale of virtual items (from their email to me), but maybe that has changed since then (a long long time ago). Passing on fake details in a financial deal in this way is fraudulent.
  11. The best way to treat this whole thing is: If you are going to be reported you may as well earn the report otherwise it seems like such a waste. There are also some people who relish their karma so much that giving them a report really irks them heavily. In my case they waste their time since I simply don't care how many times I am reported.
  12. To be fair, half the posts in this particular forum area should then be removed elsewhere, many do not belong here.
  13. Let's face it, stats are nothing but vanity and our need to be seen as someone of value to other people, aka, to be accepted, respected, to be seen and noticed. People (sheople) will hang on to every word a good player says and in many cases even kiss his bum worship him / her somewhat, even if that good player is a troll, an arrogant cretin, or other. Some people lead, many people follow, many don't care. I like to think of myself in the last group. I do care here and there if I win at times (ranked), and sometimes when trying to do my daily doubles on the few ships I am grinding, but other than that it has no real meaning in my life and not anything I measure someone by. (I do like to troll people now and then though). Am I evil?
  14. The problem with this is the yardstick we measure it by, who is setting the official benchmark by which we measure? One man's carrot is another man's redwood tree. Endowment is such a relative word, haha.

    Poor WR

Stop caring about WR and focus on your own game and soon you'll start winning. Focussing overly hard is often counter-productive and only results in frustration and players going full tilt because so much of every result depends on the actions of 11 other players. When you stop caring as much and start enjoying each game a little more, as you get better the wins start flowing. I legitimately stopped worrying about win rate a long long time ago (unless I really needed to win in ranked battles), and focussed on my own gameplay and contributing to the team effort in every game, and my win rate now sits at 56%. Not much but it is slowing rising. tldr; focus on your own game, have fun, help the team, forget about the fact you 'need' to win. This isn't a race to be the greatest player on earth and there are no real life-impacting rewards other than an ego ride. Is ego that important to you? If not, you know what to do now. Many of us will play with any player, no matter how 'low' his stats, and I'll be one of the frst to admit there are many things I have learned from 'noobs' and 'newbies', and one of those is I sometimes underestimated them completely. The person counts, not the stats. Another great bit of advice is to division up, join a clan, watch and learn.

Why are so many BB players so dumb or bad at the game?

@OP, BB is the class that draws the braindead multitudes. Of course it's a class that many good players like to play too, but out of all the classes the BB is a magnet for the braindead hordes, so you'll often find these knuckledragging neanderthals sailing a BB, then arguing with the team as to why it wasn't their fault they died or the team lost. Sadly there is no skill requirement here, just stupid human beings intent of thinking about skill, teamplay and life about as much as an amoeba does. If we could cull all the stupid people from this planet there would easily be a 50% less population on this earth. Randoms are the cesspit we get to meet these cretin plebs who can barely tie their shoelaces without having an aneurysm. I like to think of the majority of BB players as all brawn, absolutely no brain, and when I go into a battle now I automatically assume that our BB's will die quickly so it makes me play smarter. I spent ages in ranked battles protecting BB's arses with smoke and the like while they screwed about firing at random targets, with no focus fire at all, and all because I wanted to win the game and to do so I had to wipe their ugly little arses for them and feed them targets constantly. And there are so many of them...think World War Z.

Did not receive Jolly Roger II

It therefore shows us clearly that achieving rank 1 is not about skill or intelligence then, haha.

You Sir, deserve a diplomatic warm hug for your response. You've used psychology on your food and made me actually want to allow my ship to die by your hands . That could be bad for my teams health.

I second this, they need a nice comfortable slap.

Hilarious Quotes From the Battle Chat

Why not slip into something more comfortable......like a coma Why not step outside and play a nice game of hide and go &*%$ yourself. Why not just get yourself a nice hot cup of shut the &*%$ up.

    Uvershoot in Harem

Sounds like paedo stuff to me. Surely they're too young for men to be ogling over their images, even if virtual? Makes you wonder how thin that line of morality actually is., I shall give you 15 camels, a herd of my finest goats, a chest full of gold to help you develop a business that doesn't rely on the sale of young girls and a free subscription to Dr. Phil to see if we can redirect your 'enthusiasm' toward something more healthy. And then my friend, once I have these ladies in my possession, I shall set them free!

Beware, the Pirates have arrived. I remember you folks from WoT days, very skilled players and always performed very well in clan wars. That said, some of your chaps had real nasty elitist attitudes, similar to a few players from many of the other top clans. Hopefully you'll recruit mature players with more sportsmanship to contribute to the ethos here, and not to change it to the toxicity that WoT became. Skill goes far, but being skilled and humble goes even further. A sense of humour does not imply having a license to be a-holes. Two-way banter is one thing, but gang-banging some poor sod is another. Saw so many elitists act like common pack dogs in WoT thinking they were being smart, but doing more harm than good. With that little borish lecture over, I wish you guys and gals the best of luck. I look forward to seeing you in battle and it'll be great to see the famous pirates tag in teams when clans go live on WoWs. If you;re on the opposite team I know it'll be a hard fight, but I don't intend to sink that easily
  23. This sounds like the exact messed up type of outlandishly courageous clan I'd like to be part of. Only thing is I own a tirpitz, but in my defence to kill a noob one has to sail a noob vessel sometimes. If the game thinks I'm a noob it will give me favourable RNG, and if players see me in my tirp they'll think I'm a noob and underestimate my stronk tektics. I think I may be the type of gung-ho 'fools rush in' type of player you are looking for. I don't see myself as a leader, but rather the guy holding the leader aloft, because we all know it's not the leader that gets the job done, he's just the frontman who takes the blame and reaps the glory, but when the metal meets the meat it's players like me who know they can get the job done on their own even after the leader dies 'leading' us into battle. He must, after all, be the one in front shouldn't he?
