Happy New Year Camo how many you got?

Too many, I don't want them. I'm in no hurry to get free xp for anything and since they were very very poorly conceived too offer only 200% free xp with zero further benefits makes me wonder whether WG is trying once again to push the BB meta. Whichever numpty at WG decided that that was an attractive option for free XP only needs to be whipped and thrown out in the cold with his bottle of vodka. Also, for crying out loud, whip the fool that designed the ocean soul camo, the benefits are nice, but they look like utter shite.
  3. I got crap that's not even worth mentioning, so I won't.
  4. So you got rid of a ship which can generate more credits perpetually to get a once off quick injection of credits? That type of thinking is so backward it beggars belief. You get rid of long term investment potential which can reap far more rewards by giving in to your urge for instant gratification, lol. My friend, you have a LOT to learn in life. By far the most braindead thing I have 'heard' someone say today.

Play other game if you like to win

I must agree in part with the OP though. I've not had the most exciting time in the game the last week or so, terrible teams over and over again. I come out of almost every match exhausted from trying to play the game too hard to compensate for the lack of abiliy of so many incompetent team mates. It's unbelievable. Trying to carry over and over again and you have to wonder why people are playing this game. It seems as if trying to win and playing for fun cannot be put into the same sentence for these guys, impossible for them to comprehend that simply steering their ship is not enough..and in tier 7, and higher? Surely these guys must have grasped even a little of the fundementals of gameplay by now? A mere example. Tier 8 match. We get one dd in our team, the other side gets two. Our dd, bless him, desserts us to chase the enemy CV most of the game leaving us helpless against invisible enemy dd's near cap zones. I ask him why he left us and I was advised in response to suck his balls. This is one small example of one bad player with a 47% win rate and the personality of a rotten tomato. I might have to take a long break from this all, it's becoming too much work and I'm tired of logging off each night feeling stressed. This should be relaxing, but since it;'s competitive it makes you wonder why we have all these 'non-competitive' types ruining the game like this. They should be forced into coop...permanently. The bots need to practice on the lesser of our species.

    Xmas containers

It's a valid tactic, although questionable, to have a good drop rate initally knowing people will talk about it hence driving demand higher. People will flood to purchase boxes resulting in a massive cash haul for WG. I was lucky, I got 7 ships from the deal early on, including my now favourite, the kutuzov. The others were the arizona, texas, lo yang, scharnhorst, marblehead, and indianapolis.

    Supercontainer chance

I think we realise this, so my post is more of a check in on my luck in the last who knows how long, and not a reflection of the fact I should at least get one by now because it is owed to me.

  13. One of the best parts for me was Shock joking how you had died by torps in smoke in one of your previous games and about a minute later I saw his ship get torped to death, lol. Poetic justice for you!
  14. Before I left my previous job our senior manager was the type of guy you literally wanted to punch in the face every time he opened his mouth. He had no manners, waved you off when you said good morning, screamed at you and assumed he knew everything. An empire builder who retained all information he was privvy to to himself and then wondered why no-one would want to help him when he needed it. I eventually walked into his office and told him to his face he was really starting to piss me off. Of course the message he passed on to senior management was that I said something worse, but I was leaving and didn't give a crap. Got told I was getting a warning, which never materialised as this guy's methods had resulted in us losing 4 staff, me included. Back in my day there were different types of managers, but mostly two types: autocrats and Laissez faire managers. Those that follow a predominantly autocratic approach will find themselves alone, their staff will chew the cud and do very little in the way of iniative and be slow to help or show enthusiasm. The latter is more productive in most cases because generally people like being treated with respect, and if you want respect you should earn it, not demand it. This respect is earned in many ways, with experience being but one of the methods. There's a time and place for many different approaches to management. The military is more autocratic than laissez faire, but it needs to be in circumstances when there is little time for discussion. In the fire department I had over 60 junior staff and although our incident callouts required disciplined management approaches, back at our stations we adopted a more dimplomatic approach to encourage personal growth, participation and staff taking ownership of their workplace. Nothing like having a sense of pride in what you do. I feel sad for you OP, but what the guy you mention needs is a wake up call. A good leader always listens and respects even the lowliest worker in his workforce. Sure there are probably mitigating circumstances and he has some sort of plan, but clearly he has an issue with communication, and this in itself is key to any form of success in leadership.
  15. Shockpirat and Gunship14 on North? Great game, although I was very worried at the start because our team initially ignored all caps (and I was in a dd - my bad). Then I got persecution complex because I though they'd both be trying to kill me all the time all game so stayed well and truly invisible and simply spotted for BB's and laid down a few torp spreads. Was a good game and somehow miraculously my team turned it around and won, but not from anything I did. I was obsessing about being hunted and killed and embarrassed on the forums, lol. They beat me psychologically.

    the "carry harder!" thread

Goes into battle in a tier 7 cruiser, sees the lineup and realises he needs to help carry his team of tier 9 BB's, DD's and cruisers. Says to himself: 'guess I'm f*&%ed'.

    Economy

Agree totally. Perhap s CV economy needs some love by WG, but apart from this your words ring true.
  18. This is rare to me personally. The numbers of BB's in every game makes the BB 'issue' more severe than any other issue that appears less frequently.
  19. Because as romantic a notion that is, the reality is many of these potato BB players think there is nothing wrong with what they are doing. Tried all approaches, no joy. The problem is them and you cannot cure stupid. It's genetic. I now go straight to trollling them. My patience is not infinite.

  21. #BBplayersareallmostlyverystupidpeople There is a serious serious problem with most BB players at the moment - it's too easy for people to tier up and many race to get to the infamous Bismarck, yamato, etc without learning anything. I've become seriously demotivated with the game lately. The last week I've not exactly had great luck with teams and each loss has almost certainly been due to the actions and inactions by BB players either yoloing, touring the map, or firing at maximum distance expecting cruisers and dd's to do all the work. I have no words beyond this and have earned a nice chat ban because of the ultimate lack of control I suffered due to frustration.
  22. I have to agree with this completely, people (and me) tend to go full tilt when I start losing a lot of games in a row. My play becomes more reckless as I become more desperate, I make more mistakes. Switching to another ship, perhaps in lower tiers / another class, usually helps me psychologically and often helps break the losing streak. On the other hand, Bushwacker001 is probably the reason why I lose a lot of games. He used to steal my sandwiches at school when I was a young warthog.

Bad teams last month, enyone else ?

Because stupid people part with the money quicker than most, so getting that massive battleship to play without actually having learned how to play the game is what it is all about for them (and WG). They want the Bismarck, they want the Yamato, the Scharnhorst, etc no matter the cost. Then they play it all the while reliving some slow-paced battle from the movies instead of using the minimap or reading the game, or playing for their team. Makes you wonder how we can force oxy-theiving bots like this to coop rather than having them grace us with their retro-brained tactically challenged mentality.

Bad teams last month, enyone else ?

I hate to generalise, but the main issue for me are the BB players. They represent our major firepower, a deterrant to prevent an enemy push allowing the game to flow at a slower pace. The problem is the low average IQ level of many of them because all want to play a BB. Given the MM doesn't provide an equal distribution of noobs, newbies and elited ships for each team it becomes massively apparent when the enemy team has good BB players. I say this because most games have higher BB ratios than other classes (for me), so in this sense the result of many games depends on the quality of BB player each team has. It is also very hard for a good player to carry the team when he is in a tier 7 cruiser versus tier 9's. Lately most of my games have been uptiered games so I was forced to play higher tiers to try influence games as much as possible after many days of terrible terrible teams. I have grown to loathe sub 50% players in high tier BB's. Watching a Yamato spend an entire game providing AA for our carrier was heart-wrenching and majorly frustrating. When trying to talk to the people I get agro responses so clearly many of these guys are unwilling to learn anything. I often resort to being agro myself afterwards. The key response from them is 'it's only a game'. I applaud them for realising this but I go on to remind them we can all still have fun trying to win at the same time as having fun in general, but these are mentally and intellectually challenged individuals possibly put on this earth to do nothing but steal oxygen from us. Were it one or two games I could accept it, but playing 5 or 6 games in a row and seeing the same thoroughly predictable behaviour from so many BB players is bewildering. At the beginning of every battle when some armchair admiral with a 43% win rate says 'let's go C' and then watching the entire team of BB's follow him only serves to remind me I'm in for a solo game and to try score as much as I can for personal gain rather than to benefit the team. How has the human race reached this level without becoming extinct and more importantly, why is WG actively promoting the use of BB's and not restricting their numbers in battles a little at least as they did for CV's, etc. Do they not see they are a very large part of the problem?
