  1. Its' very useful for randoms, I have and still am using it very successfully to track dd's down and then corner and kill them. For my cruisers it works wonders and the dd's are toast if they try to slip through like they use to unseen. Now they are seen, albeit not directly. There is no doubt it has and is altering the way many people play the game, and in my opinion, not for the better.

Today is a sad day for WoWs community - at least for me

To be honest, why should we care about any contributor? Is it a generational thing we place so much emphasis and importance in other people who couldn't give a rats arse about you in the end? Do you guys watch them to learn or for entertainment? This I can appreciate, but to hear fanboyism and hero-worship toward so many youtubers is beyond me. I must be getting old. When did society start venerating nobody's so much?

How the "majority" of non-forum players see RDF/RL

As I said previously, I have witnessed this exact same thing. One ship left for us, a dd, and the enemy had 3. We were winning by miles in points but the enemy cruiser knew exactly where to steer to find the dd. The maps are nice and square and with sufficient time left there is nowhere a dd can go until boxed in. I've killed a fair number of dd's in this way since the patch. I hunted a US DD down in my minotaur yesterday (I think it was yesterday), boxed him in the corner of the map and wiped him out. Stealth is no longer an advantage for DD's from any nation. This skill is a game changer and definitely takes too much away from tactical gameplay...

Yes, there are other skills, but three kills tonight using rdf to box in dd's because I knew exactly what part of the map they are in and where headed. Maps are square, eazsy to box in stragglers or sneaks. Mostly late game but there is no doubt the rdf skill is too much for the game and removes all tactical stealth. Anyone denying this is delusional or a complete deniar. My 3 kills this evening say a lot....without it I would never have known the ships were where they were.

    RDF is double edged sword

Works like a charm on cruisers, I've now killed 3 dd's using it. Sneaky dd's trying to flank or sneak through are now dead...they cannot run because the maps are basically square and if he gets far enough I can box him in our section of the map. As said, 3 times already and marvellous, but I now won't play my dd's because of it. I like tactical play in dd's, it's removed this element of gameplay for me. Pity. It definitely needs removing.

Wait a sec, RPF Is not that game-ending.

RPF was game ending for the dd that tried to flank my minotaur a few games ago....there was nowhere he could run and I blew his little wee ship up spectacularly. DD's are totally screwed now....I'll put RDF on every one of my ships and simply hunt every dd to instinction. The more people we get to complain about it the better. RPF / RDF has completely changed the way we play the game, stealth is no longer an option for anyone on any of my ships...what a monumental [edited]up from WG in this one.....epic! How many WG developers does it change to screw up a game completely? Just the idiot that came up with RDF, and of course the idiots that agreed to keep it after so many people complained. I played 7 or so games tonight and to be perfectly honest something feels different about it, the game now feels 'cheaper' in quality, i.e. the experience feels even more arcady than it did before, almost like the game has lost a bit of class. I didn't like the feeling at all. The whole RDF thing has ironically taken something away from the game, It feels more like a cheap iPad app to me now. Am I being dramatic? Probably, but can't help the way I feel. My gut is screaming at WG's lack of common sense on this one. Not sure how long I'll enjoy playing this game anymore. That poor dd player had no chance against me, I knew exactly where he was all the time.

Yep, I had a game with no dd's either side, and another game with only 1 dd in the whole game. Only played 5 games last night so we'll see just how safe it has become to BB players to sail around almost completely uncontested from now on. Time is a wonderful thing.

    Debunking Devs argument about RPF

You can say what you want, but in all reality you probably fit the typical profile of player being described in the forum relating to those who may like the skill. Not your fault, nothing to forgive, just another backward step for humanity

    RDF is double edged sword

Define 'DD hunters' for me, because many mentioning this phrase are implying it's a specific class of ship when in reality players will simply fit it to any ship to make them more aware of nearby DD's. I did last night on my BB and knew exactly which direction the enemy DD was coming from. Helped me greatly. My BB was therefore indirectly buffed with this. Secondly, what about the human factor, many will fit it simply because there's so much talk and fear surrounding it, so in actual fact it's going to be one of those things we will fit to avoid being at a disadvantage. Something WG failed to comprehend while ignoring all the negative feedback about it?

How the "majority" of non-forum players see RDF/RL

One game does not mean anything. I had a game where we were winning by 400 cap points, 3 minutes left in the game. We had one dd left and the enemy had 3 ships. The enemy cruiser knew exactly which direction to sail in to track our slow jap dd down, cornered him and killed him when there was nowhere to left to turn. Game lost, RPF confirmed by cruiser.

    Listen to your player Base!

I played around 5 games last night, one game had 1 dd in it and another game had not a single dd in it. RDF anyone? Battleships reigned supreme in both games, cruisers got destroyed quickly. Sad days ahead. WG need to learn to look at changes from all angles, hence the importance of feedback from players and actually listening to this feedback instead of adopting an arrogant 'we know better' attitude. They're not factoring in the human nature element of their changes. They're going to drive the meta more toward battleship play, and this is already a growing concern only to be made worse now. Time will tell.
  14. It's not like WG actually cares about anything we complain about, so I wouldn't bother if I were you.

    Listen to your player Base!

Well, played 3 games and I've seen enough. Just watched us lose a game where we had 400 more cap points than the enemy with 3 minutes to spare, we had one jap dd left running away 'silently'and the enemy had 3 ships. The enemy cruiser chased our invisible dd down, knew which direction to find him, cornered him and eventually killed him. I've decided the RPF skill is far too much for the game, dumbs it down, ruins it for me personally. WG have f'ed this up good and proper.

    Debunking Devs argument about RPF

I agree, I enjoy the tactical element of it and if they remove some of the key options open to me while playing the game and herd me toward an all out click-fest gun battle then I'm off too. I'll test this out tonight after work and it I feel the game has been made worse off I'll most likely play my last game tonight, or at least until I get a better overall impression of whether I feel too forced to play the game the way they want me to play it. Maybe it won't be as bad as I anticipate, but if it is then I can't imagine hanging around. Not like they haven't been warned about it. Getting a little tired of them giving us hindsight excuses of stuff they knew would happen and then justifying it afterward with some feeble BS. Let's hope for the best then, because I really enjoy the game. This is what it all boils down to doesn't it, our enjoyment of the game and whether it fills the brief of what we would like it to be. Changed too much, or dumbed down too much may signify the ultimate nail in the coffin. Time will tell, but if it turns out badly I'll not wait to hear their excuses when they revert it all.

I may have to eat my words re: MM.

Only certain elements of the MM are random, and anyone believing it is fully random is wrong. A lot about the MM is speculation since none of us know the true extent to which WG have randomised the matchmaker, apart from them 'balancing' ship classes, etc. Until they do tell us a little more (never) anything is possible. From my own personal point of view there is more going on that most assume but also not as much as many assume. Somewhere in the middle but I truly do not think that it's simply ship classes / weights / etc that WG considers in it's MM algorithms. There is more than meets the eye. Patterns can be seen everywhere, and while we can dismiss this easily by claiming we tend towards observation bias, seeing patterns where there are none, the human brain is not that simple,. Sometimes patterns are seen because they do exist - disregarded by some, accepted by others. WG are the only ones sitting comfortably in this since they know the truth, but for me it's all about trust, and since I do not trust WG (historical failings and deceipt) I do not believe things are as simple as they claim them to be. Until proven, none of us is right about anything.

Official comment on possible BB limit.

Let me correct you, BB's are much easier to hit than cruisers if you are playing a BB. Cruisers need to get close and risk everything just for a salvo or two.

    Fix chat report abuse please

2 x 24hr chat bans in 3 days. I'm on a roll, seem to have irritated a fair few idiots in the game and they punished me by telling my mommy who put pepper in my mouth....well, they banned me from talking which in itself is great because it gives me 24 hours each time to think up new material. Not sure I've actually insulted that many people to warrant these bans lately, must have been a few snot nosed kids that got all uptight that I tried to advise them in battle, or maybe I killed someone who thought they were invincible.
  21. Yes, their special container was only special for some but marginally noticeable for most, haha. Totally impressed.....not!

    RPF everywhere!

Nah OP, I'd rather not play the game in this state as opposed to abusing the system. If I continue playing I have to eventually buy more premium since I won't play the game without a premium account...and since I don't want to buy more premium (still lots of time left anyhow) because of this crap I guess it makes sense to not play the game. I have other games I like, WG may have to take a little bit of space in the backseat for a while until the repercussions of WG's failed ability to listen eventually hits home. They won't care, but doesn't bug me any.

Official comment on possible BB limit.

I hope we do get a limit on BB's. I play BB's, I like them, but too many of them is a bad thing and screwing up things for those of us who like to play other classes too. Why not try a cruiser, you might like it..oh wait, then you might see what I'm talking about and be forced to agree with me. There are TOO MANY BB's in the most battles...why? Easy game, longer survivability, an every kid wants to play one to be this powerful force on the oceans, except they don't realise that a little skill and ability is actually needed in order to be of some use to your team. Right now too many are braindead fools drooling on their keyboards, picking their collective noses, backseat-driving idiots crawling along at 2 knots firing at maximum range and then left wondering why they only have a 43% win rate...must be someone elses fault right?
