Found Admiral Graf Spee in my port...TY WG
Shaka_D replied to Diabolik__'s topic in General Discussion
So used to criticising WG that I now find myself unable to respond to this act of goodness from them. What have I become? Well done WG, that's an extremely honourable act on your part. -
@OP: Is this what happened to you? Point out which one in the confrontation was you, 1 or 2? We need to be able to judge who was obstructing who to be certain of where to lay more blame.

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Shaka_D replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Have to agree with you here, that point 6 is definitely an agenda driven supposition. -
Now they need to remove the cv retriction for battles and we'll see lots and lots of planes in the air..might acutally be fun. with cv on CV battles. Which cv would be best in this case?

Ups and downs, frustrating as blazes. 44% WR yesterday, 75 % today. The game knows how to toy with a persons mind. Luck on who you get on your team and if they play as a team or not. Sometimes we have days we're not on form, any on those days carrying is hard and doesn't work out, other days you do nothing and still win. Today I was awesome at everything...because I'm awesome.....everything is awesome......lalallalala.

Nice reply, thanks. The simple question remains though, do we need it ingame? My answer is no. So why have they put it into the game? A mistake would be to remain overly passive about it now making it extremely hard to remove it later once it has become a cornerstone for many. There is absolutely no reason for it to be implemented other than WG deducing somehow we we need it, but in truth more along the lines at what they themselves want to do with the game. It was not asked for, it is not needed, there is no reason I can see as a player for them to implement soimething like this to 'improve gameplay'. It degrades tactical play. My own experiences have given me reason to hate it because I have benefitted from it and lost to it, and only played a few games in the process to have witnessed these side-effects. It's a difficult one, but I fear that the over-passivity by many will result in the skill becoming so fully ingrained in play that it's removal will be impossible. I'm not afraid to adapt different tactics, but this skill in itself is too much information too freely available at the simple cost of 4 points. I use it, and I have already seen it used a lot. I appreciate your comments, but be careful you don't make the mistake as WG do by discounting general sentiment on these forums. It would be better for you to learn to sift through the BS and find the arguments that make more sense, even if they are on these forums. Simply discounting polls and popular 'opinion' is a mistake on your part imho, your choice, but I do think it's a little ignorant to disregard so much feedback. You have your reasons, but becareful you don't become to 'partial' in where you source your info from. I've learned that many on this forum make good arguments, and amongst those there are those that speak the biggest load of crap. And this can go both ways for both sides of the debate. There are those wanting the skill for all the wrong reasons too. -

It helped a bb hunt me down late game and kill me, and you may have noticed that many games are decided by late game actions. With the object being to win I have already seen the skill benefit teams in numerous occasions during late game / win-loss deciding actions. As mentioned previously, my one game that should have been an outright win was lost because our last remaining ship (dd) was followed by a cruiser and cornered and kill just before we could win. He was not spotted and the cruiser confirmed RDF / RPF in that it pointed him in the direction he needed to sail. Simple as that. While many see it as harmless, it has potent implications, especially late game moments which could decide the final outcome. If player skill or experience helped decide the win then so be it, but having a tool (4 points or not) that may prove invaluable in finding that last elusive ship, etc. and this same skill which has nothing to do with player experience or skill leading to giving an advanatge where ordinarily there should be none, then something is wrong. It may seem pointless to you and granted you may see other skills as more useful, but you need to see the big picture here. Used in randoms I have seen its effects, but used in clan wars / team battles / ranked battles, the effects will be more pronounced. This skill should be removed to allow full tactical advantage to be used by skilled and experienced players without them having to worry about some potato using a simple mindless hack to tell them where to steer to find the enemy. -
You had a chance to try RDF. Will you keep it?
Shaka_D replied to FaceFisted's topic in General Discussion
I will keep it because it's in the game and not having it means being at a disadvantage against others who also have it. Typical human behaviour here but after playing with it a lot I have seen the advantages it offers if used correctly. Long term this skill is a game breaker, we do not need it at all. WG have lost the plot and favour with me. Premium runs out within a month and I'll not renew in silent protest. I have sufficient ships and slots, etc to carry me forward at my own pace, and personally I am now in a position in the game to withdraw any future financial contribution to WG. It won't make a difference to WG but on principal makes me feel better since they've done something radically stupid here and being arrogant about it too. I won't be rash and run from the game yet, nor will I be a WG suckup like so many are trying to be. I'll become a free player from now, but if the game deteriorates more in terms of stupid changes and additions by WG then I'll happily move elsewhere, even though I'll miss ships. Entertainment is my goal, fun is my aim. When WG start deciding what my level of fun should include is when I decide to see what else is cresting the horizon.- 81 replies

I'd like to see statistics on that comment ol boy because I would disagree. One could argue people's tendency to resist change and all, but on the whole it's a fairly generalised comment based on little factual evidence. In my case I would like to think I am arguing very sincerely against the whole RDF affair. A number of games now I was hunted down while playing my gearing. A lot of the true impact from RDF becomes more apparent later in the game when fewer ships remain. DD's suffer the most from not being able to hide anymore since ships know where to sail to find them. In this sense WG have dumbed the game down. A battleship used the same tactic on me in my dd I have used on many others with the RDF skill, he sailed straight for me, and while I was unspotted it was only time when I'd have to turn somewhere or try line up for a torp spread. RDF early game is hit and miss, later in the game it becomes really obvious what advantages it offers and stealth disappears out the window. This is not coming from someone who is following a pack mentality and complaining for the sake of it. I like to think of myself as free thinking and not part of a herd of sheep. It's also dangerous to assume most people are simply complaining for the sake of complaining, I feel, as many others do, that the issues presented are valid. Some don't mind the skill, but one day they may experience it's true impact on the game when they start seeing the effects thereof in their own game. I speak from having experienced a lot of it already in the few days since the release. I'm testing it, experimenting with pro's and cons and what I see from an impartial point of view is it is not needed in the game, it takes away too much from it. WG have introduced a skill that could in effect paralyse many dd's in using their stealth as an advantage. I've seen many games finish faster because of the skill and games lost that should have been won, and vice versa. It is still of my opinion based on gameplay that WG have made a massive mistake here. Don't make the mistake of dismissing too much for the sake of remaining in favour as a supertester -
15. Nature of Services You hereby accept, recognize and understand that we constantly work on further development of the Game and Services, we improve, upgrade and update graphics, features, gameplay and any other Content of the Game in order to make the gameplay enjoyable for you. http://legal.eu.warg...erms-of-Service OK, but what if I don't find the change they made 'enjoyable' as stated above. What if they change something to the point I no longer enjoy playing it. That's a pretty subjective statement and open to me having recourse to requesting a refund. They cannot possibly make a statement that assumes I will enjoy every change or update they make, how could they possibly know what I will like and dislike?

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Shaka_D replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Lots of people become famous for all the wrong reasons mate . My turn is coming one day soon, then I'll have to change my game name again like I did when it was something else (don't ask). I ripped into a pro cv player after a game not realising he was a f'ing good player, losing my temper and insulted him from here to kingdom come with some really colourful language. Shamefully a rather well known supertester saw the post the cv players made on another forum and asked me about it. Then the next day some other folks saw my name ingame and laughed with me (not at me) thinking it was funny as hell, but in my eyes I had been so salty I crossed the line and tainted my once proud name. I needed a new identity so called the Federal Bureau of Wargaming support and they helped me into the witness protection programme. Now I live by the Shaka_D moniker, with a dark past, hehe. -

Lol, if it isn't the one and only, haha. We'll soon have all the pro WoT clans sailing our seas....'our seas', you need to pay us rent first . You need to bring your tactical genius this side Hami, one day clan wars will need all the famous tank generals it can find, but only if they find their sea legs. -

Sshhh, my team lost badly and I got owned by a low tier cruiser in my stock guisennau (I know thats spelled incorrectly). I misjudged his torp launch. You had already died valiantly by then, and luckily my team was already so badly doomed by the time I blew up so I didn't feel that bad. -

Lol, yes, I did notice you. Epic, now I remember the conversation clearly. I was initially struck by the HAMI tag....your clan preceeds your own fame, haha. -
Yes, I agree with this. We've gone far beyond it simply being weekend players. There's a whole host of uselessness everyday of the week. 'Weekenders' is just a convenient label given to the braindead horde, but I must admit, playing against braindeads is kinda fun, as opposed to trying to play with them.

Hi mate, sorry I don't think I saw you, but perhaps a good thing since it seems we lost badly. It might have been a game I was killed by being stupid, so apologies if so and especially if I raged in chat. Although I try not to care too much I just hate losing too many consecutive games and go green and all sulky, and then my mouth kicks in. -
Why am I not rewarded for winning the game?
Shaka_D replied to Lemasive's topic in General Discussion
I've heard your concerns, and never before has a story touched me this deeply. I appreciate the efforts you go through to help your team by self-sacrifice and doing what needs to be done for the benefit of all. You're truly one in a million when it comes to BB players and I commend you on the manner in which you conduct yourself in battle. It's a rare thing to see BB players do what you do, and when heroes like yourself take the respective necessary action it should be appreciated.....but it's not and this is sad. Now.. be a good chap and bugger off will you and tell someone that actually cares.... Just kidding mate, I wish most BB players actually tanked for the team as you do, it would make many battles more interesting. -
What do you think about limited ammo and the gameplay coming with that?
Shaka_D replied to Onsterfelijke's topic in General Discussion
My Minotaur would fire all it's shells in 5 seconds and then I'd have to leave the game. If I accidentally press the fire button I'd be screwed....Like a one-hit wonder. -

I was washing the dishes and accidenatlly knocked over a wine glass which fell to the floor. As I turned to see it smash I realised I never heard the glass break. I looked down and realised I had caught it between both my hobbit like feet about a centimetre from the floor. That was soo close and am still shaking from the adrenaline rush when my spidy sense kicked in triggering my superfast reflexes. Took me half an hour for the shaking to wear off. True story from a few nights ago. @OP. Well done and thanks for a relevant theme to share my own 'i'm still shaking' story -
Yes, it's officially been confirmed as a set of training wheels for supertesters before they get to offer expert advice on proper ingame ships. They learn on this little bathtub model as they try to perfect their critique methods and scientific feedback.

2 have left the game, one other still playing as am I.

Bored? No ways. On my team a few games ago I had: player in my team - 5500 games - 44% win rate - north carolina player in my team - over 6000 games - 45 % win rate - G Kurfurst player in my team - over 4000 games - 42% win rate - some other high tier BB Why on earth should I be bored, if anything I'm exhausted trying to help keep the team from losing so quickly. My last game we lost 6 ships within 3 minutes, a tier 10 battle. 3/4 of our team faced less than half of the enemy and lost, leaving a few of us facing the bulk of their forces - tier 10 game.
