As we thought, after the PR event? Typical. Maybe next time if would do them greater service to be truthful. I don't think anyone would have begrudged them a little profit for honesty. Seems a fair trade off. But what we get stuck with are massively transparent nonsensical excuses?
-
I think they have a reputation of doing first based on greed and only thereafter thinking of the consequences? Must be true, because the net effect of this is a bad reputation, and they have this with bells on.
-
Yep, not a great look for WG. We can see clearly where their favour lies. It’s not so much what they’re doing, but much more about the fact they need to lie about the whole ‘technical issue’ thing, and a lie that’s so obvious too. And then they wonder why their PR is rock bottom and no one trusts them.

There is always some vocal person in game, maybe two, who speak up in chat professing how they hate subs and how they ruin the game, but then the rest of the players remain quiet or some even offer counter views. With due respect to people here. As much as people hate them, there are people who like them - who is right and who is wrong? Do the folk hating on subs so much really think its fair to those who like subs? Whose opinion wins? Yours? Are we not falling prey to false consensus thinking everyone agrees or shares the same views? I saw that stream and there weren't that many people opting for the anti-sub option when comparing it with the numbers watching the stream. And as much as I like to criticise WG on their dubious decisions, just because WG don't take up some random request, does that make them wrong? What is this 'if you don't do what I say then you're wrong' mentality. Have we become so blinkered? Do we now have to take the knee to show we hate subs and if we don't we're sub lovers? Might be time to accept the inevitable. You know what to do if you hate subs so much and the game has changed to the point you don't enjoy it, yet you're not doing it. Why? Hope?

'Technical issues'....lool. 'No ETA'......loool. No ways I believe that nonsense. Sorry, but heard it all before. Simple issue to fix I reckon, I mean, come on man. There's a reason behind their 'no ETA'. Typical runaround instead of the simple truth.

The edited gets real: submarines in early access
Shaka_D replied to 22cm's topic in General Discussion
To be fair the vote you're referencing is hardly indicative of the whole playerbase, but if it were a measure of forum dwellers or those who follow WG content, then it's not as one sided as many made it out to be in favour of those who don't want subs. Seems reasonably even by the looks of it. Not sure how WG measures this one to be honest, those on the forums says noone likes subs and WG say only 10% don't like subs. Who's right and who's wrong? If player numbers take a dive, WG will be forced to admit defeat and act, but as long as everyone keeps playing and moaning while they do it, WG will never care. I think we all have our weaknesses. We complain, yet we still play. The only way for anti-sub sentiment to win is for people to genuinely stop playing the game, in numbers that WG will notice. And when I say stop playing, this means to go away and stop for good, or to perhaps launch their own campaigns of negative publicity on streams, et al. Hard one. -
Hey, what were we complaining about. It was a free ship wasn't it?
-
Good to hear, as entitled as that sounds. I simply don't like false statements as much. I'd rather have them say it up front about why some of this stuff happens. It's when we can see things are not what they say they are that we tend to get cynical. I'd easily accept them saying 'it's costing us money' etc as opposed to propoganda. Have we really got to the point we take everything that is said by them as a falsity? Doesn't seem fair on them, but hell, we have the scars to prove that we've been bitten numerus times before.

Absolute pleasure mate, any time. There for you all the way, and I promise we’ll do the same for Christmas and snowflakes, etc. I mean, you’re important to us, we want you to be happy. This isn’t about profit, this is us being genuinely grateful for your continued support and custom. And by the way, we’re canning the whole idea of subs and super ships, and the upcoming game pass malarkey. We make mistakes, but realise we need to listen to you all. For some, the above is template of a perfect answer from WG. Think we’ll ever see it?
-
They’ll say it’s a technical issue, blah blah blah, one that’s taken weeks and weeks to fix that’s still not fixed…..to me it’s about them making sure they don’t lose money. Am I cynical? Sure I am, but I think I’m 100% correct. I cannot imagine this is a big issue to fix, so no reason for delays unless……

Was there 30% OFF Personal celebratory annual coupon this year (last year it was on 19.09.2021. and year before last on 17.09.2020.) ?

Same, lol. -

Shaka_D replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Might also be because the are a lot of birthdays around this time of the year (since it's around the same time WG started this thing and many people added a fake birthday to get rewards earlier?), and maybe because it greatly inconveniences WG's profits because people are using these coupons to fast track the Puerto R dockyard event. Don't be surprised if this all resurfaces after the PR event and after the 25% doubloon coupon expires. This is not a technical issue, it's a WG profit issue in my most very humble opinion. The technical issue would have been fixed a long time ago otherwise, and not taken as long. I simply don't believe them for a single second on their 'technical issue' nonsense. It's a lie, plain and simple in my view. -
You should start by defining what toxicity is, because I seriously think most here use it as a catch all for all forms of criticism...which it isn't.

Muchos gracias!

Whatever happened to prime gaming rewards on Twitch for WoWs? Seems to have died a death while all other participating developors are going hell for leather with theirs. Bit disappointing of WoWs to be honest. Does that make me greedy or a leech, as some would see it?

Golden Age of Industry Premium Containers
Shaka_D replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Once again, if you have all the ships in the container you only get compensated with 25k free xp.........how low they value their own ships, yet how much they try to charge us for them to buy outright. Seems legit....yeh, right. Someone somewhere at HQ is not really acting in our best interests. Got to watch my p's and q's too, even benign, legitimate criticism is heavily censored on the forums lately. -
I gave you reasons, I'm not spelling it out for you in detail. At some point you need to expand your own horizons. I'm not being baited into a battle of ego's here. Thanks.

Ranked was never so frustrating as it is today!
Shaka_D replied to totosniperofhell's topic in General Discussion
Yeh, must agree, I breezed through the last gold ranked a couple of weeks ago, but this one I think I'm still on rank 9 and have all the rewards bar the rank 1 reward. Decided to quit there. -
Yes, I can give you valid reasons. Can we go back to the topic please? Might be nice to actually talk about ideas relating to the OP's idea, or why it's a bad idea.
-
In fact, I have. Noone is demanding anything, but referring to people as leeches and demanding anything opens doors to your being criticised for being narrow-minded..and you opened that door 'dude'. Not me, I just walked through it to meet your pseudo-aggression. To stick to the topic, it's ok you believe the SC's are fine as they are, I personally don't and wouldn't mind WG revisiting them, but that's up to them.
-
When you argue from such a narrow-minded perspective, whether deliberate ot through a lack of further knowledge, you're not giving yourself the benefit of drawing on all the information available to reach your conclusion, therefore, you don't technically know what you're talking about. Sorry if this upsets you.
-
I can see your point of view here and it's perfectly fine with anyone thinking that SC's are fine. Opinion on any front is great. But there are very, very serious business considerations that are factored in when any business has giveaways, offers 'free' stuff. They're not free, but understadeably this idea can seem subjective. WG did not simply wake up one morning and say 'hey, lets give away free stuff because we're so kind' - this is not loyalty. These are quite deliberate actions which are put in place for very practical business reasons, it's not kindness. There's a cost, always, both the WG and to the playerbase. Amazing though how so many find WG's behaviour contentious on so many other fronts, but ironically think they're doing this out of the goodness fo their proverbial hearts. Definitely not so.
-
No offense, but you have absolutely zero idea what you are talking about. As for 'leeching' and 'not being paid by WG', I suggest you expand your knowledge on common business practices, advertising, time, free goodies, giveways, etc. Therein lies a plethora of information which may just change your mind if you're not predisposed toward simply arguing with people. You're arguing from an incredibly narrow-minded point of view. Thanks 'dude'.

No obligation but creativity and a little imagination keeps people interested and playing? Companies do this type of stuff all the time. They've reworked everything else, so why not these. Don't be so quick to criticise just because you can. Any by the way, they're not technically free. Not sure why people still keep harping on this narrative like stuck records, because the whole 'free' argument is moot.

The problem is WG should then begin by 'tackling' themselves. They are the root cause of much of the toxicity so will they look to their own decisions first, or simply increase our 'reporting' ability by giving us more reports to abuse?
