Basic Skill: First THINK, then TALK. Avoiding sketchy arguments (in the wake of Jean Bart release)
Shaka_D replied to GA_Tirpitz's topic in General Discussion
I do think we overthink things too much in this game trying to analyse too much where it's not necessary. OP's comments, some really valid, but some way off target, can be summarised into a few simple points: Basically, it's a game If your overall stats after a fair amount of games are bad, then shut up - You only talk the talk when you can walk the walk If you're a good player, be tolerant with others and don't try make the horse drink when you've lead him to water - we know how this plays out If you have all these wonderful ideas for WG, just stop it, they do what they want when they want and only on the odd occasion do they mess up so badly it causes mass havoc which forces changes If ships are too expensive, don't buy them - stop feeding the troll you name as WG Everything happens for a reason with WG (almost) - they do things because they've thought about it first (mostly), and their primary motivation will always be self-interest (mostly) Most people's complaints are motivated by self-interest - we want something that benefits us in some way, screw the rest. Stop expecting the mm to be fair, stop waiting for the dice to roll in your favour, this is gamblers fallacy. No-one is out to get you, well, except WG who want as much money as you can give them. Lunch should be eaten at lunch time! Similar for breakfast and dinner, but beer can be drunk anytime (except before and during driving) and hardcore drugs are always bad for you All things in moderation I'm all out of garbage now, thanks for the outlet. Love to all, and peace Bruvs -
Spoken like a true mindless, indoctrinated drone who is most likely too young to have any experience in anything your allude to with your dark-hearted sentiment. You're a troll of the worst kind.

T8 BB's in T10 games, an idea for survival.
Shaka_D replied to Migantium_Mashum's topic in General Discussion
I don't see the problem with tier 8 b's being in tier 10 matches, their survivability is good unless facing higher tier cvs'. The real problem is for tier 8 dd and cruiser players who neither have the gun or torp range to take on too many higher tier ships, let alone evade the mass of radar ships. BB's have the easy life. Next concern please, one that's real this time please OP. -
1st Anniversary? Thanks , but not really...
Shaka_D replied to JapLance's topic in General Discussion
Got a 1st anniversary message with 10 meritorious camos after my first game yesterday (thanks WG, nice gesture), then 15 camo's second game (thanks again WG), then a 30% discount (purchased the Haida for £13), then after 4th game got a third year anniversary 20 camo set. Really pleased with WG on this, I wasn't expecting it and was a super gesture from them. I'm desperate for credits and these particular camo's are great! -
Dear WG: Is there a future for FreeXP ships in WoWs?
Shaka_D replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Sad days, being held ransom by free xp and the JB gets released for cash and coal, lol -
My complaint has nothing to do with it being a high tier for cash premium. It's expensive enough to scare away a lot of new players and tier 10 is already saturated with hopeless sailors reversing to border lines in bb's and yoloing in dd's. Not to mention tier 8 premiums with their tier x mm means instant cash players have been in top tier games for a long time already ruining things on many occasion. My complaint is it was released in a way I did not expected to see it released, i.e. overly priced for coal, and for cash. My free xp being saved for ages has suddenly become pointless. Do I hold on to it just in case WG decide to release something else for free xp or do I put it to use only to find out WG decide later to add a free xp ship all of a sudden. A little basic communication on your release strategies here would be great WG so I can do a bloody budget in-game and plan what I'm going to spend stuff on, thanks very much! It is truly irritating the way things get done in secret for things like this, blindsiding many of your loyal fans. #MakeWGgreatagain

True, but the manner in which 'gain' is achieved is not without limits. Even criminal behaviour can be seen as impact versus gain. Your original analogy can be analogised itself with things like 'Telling a drug dealer to stop selling drugs because they are bad'. Just because a business has intent to make money does not mean the manner in which they do so or choose to do so is ethical, or correct.

At least it's available for coal, even if it takes me 10 years to collect enough to buy it, but I m not paying anywhere near that much money for a ship ever again, I don't care how long they took to make it, and I'd question the mindset of anyone who does.

Premium Shop in November: Halloween - Discussion Thread
Shaka_D replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
We are entering into the realms of ludicrous money now for stuff... -
Hard to tell, but first gut feelings are I don't like it. I got the Daring and only played a measly 3 games in it, but each of the 3 games had a tier 10 cv on each side and it's here I find the Daring hard to play. We know in randoms teams mostly don't provide cohesive gameplay. The smoke on the Daring (a curse of all brit dd's) is very short duration, making capping in a smoke screen impossible and the cv just spots you or waits for you. You stand no chance. A dd's strength is it's stealth, and without an adequate smoke screen your dd may as well sail with the pack doing absolutely nothing until late game when the enemy cv has perhaps died. The smoke is fine for ship play, but in higher tiers against cv's it takes the rock paper scissors effect and screws it right up. 3 games, 3 cv battles, not the same cv players either. I'm going to follow the route many others are, when I see a cv in the queue I'm clicking out of it if playing my Daring or higher tier brit dd's.

Clan Matches/Training suggestion RE: 'North'
Shaka_D replied to Schrowe's topic in General Discussion
You title is not relevant to the content of your post. In fact, rather overly critical. -
Not sure judging it so quickly on a single mode, especially with them being in their infancy and a completely new dynamic, is an accurate repesentation of their suitability to the game as a whole. There must be a whole lot of development that could take place, but at least we know WG are able to do them. As for myself I quite enjoyed the mode as a great distraction. Be interesting to see what else can be done for them as a separate class (although I suspect that'll never happen).
-
Interesting results, so nicely done, but obviously sources need to be verified, etc etc but even if we take the results as accurate, why did we need to prove to people that the mm wasn't actually out to get them with beliefs such as the ones you state above? They're clearly delusional and even if you provide the information many will be inclined toward cognitive dissonance and denial. I suppose, even if you bring one hapless soul around it would be worth it, haha.

Had one quick game before work, while I was practicing diving and surfacing my team won 4 stars for me. Awful nice of them. Love the subs, was a lot of fun.

The Pumpkin harvest has gone rotten this year.

My one crate got me the shokaku camo, talk about luck. -

Shaka_D replied to Blixies's topic in General Discussion
I know, I feel rubbish if I buy even one crate (which I did), to hear people say they always buy 20 to 40 or so of the things is scary, this is a lot of money to be throwing spending on a gamble. Do they fulfil a need and then justify it afterwards? -
November Combat Missions - Discussion Thread
Shaka_D replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
The daily little rewards / missions are meh, easily ignored. A nice token from WG for free players or to underwhelmingly fill the gap between other large missions, events, but these daily ones are boring, tiny, add to the grind feeling, and in fact ignored to the point they don't and have never mattered to me. It's like they're trying to scratch an itch with the soft end of a feather. On the flip side, I suppose it provides small incentive to reward people for logging in and simply playing a few games and it allows them (over 1000 years) to progress in coal reserves, etc. but to be honest the amount of fanfare they give it in the web article is silly. Apart from the glacial trickle of coal and nothing worthwhile to use it (coal) on currently for presumably many people, WG try to big it up by giving the overall values / quantities of what you can be rewarded in the month, but in reality their 1 flag here and there, few consumables are gone in a heartbeat before you even notice they were there, often without anything to show for it thanks to things like the rng and mm. To benefit from many types of flags and signals you need quite a lot of them. I guess this is because I'm a (spoilt) premium player and have adequate camo's, signal flags, etc to last me a long time. The token signal / camo / free xp / xp rewards have far less value to me - so is WG catering only for free players or a certain other demographic who value these paltry rewards more than I? Best they not call me spoilt, because my freakin little bit of money here and there helps keep the game going. -
Special "Daily Shipments" offer in premium shop (requires you to be logged in)
Shaka_D replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
I thought about this for 10 seconds, then realised I wasn't going to spend any money anyways because I don't find it good value. Just a clever means to get people to part with money is all, with an offer designed to draw you in and part with some cash. Would've been far better if they simply offered you 6300 dubloons straight up for the same price without all the fanfare. This stuff is so transperant and 'yesterday', do people still fall for this? -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Shaka_D replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Hey matey, had a couple of terrible games in my Lightning. I think 3 games and in each a cv making it hard to do anything without being spotted, and with the brit dd's you can't just sit in smoke for ages waiting for the cv to get bored because your smoke runs out in 30 secs. Frustration to the point I couldn't even type properly. Decided to give up and do some work in the garden. Definitely not your fault though, I think it was my rng jinxing things. I took on a cossack who had shed loads more hp than me thinking I could trick him into one of my torps. It didn't work, hahaha, and my explosion was rather underwhelming. -
Not sure I'm going to be able to spend those 16 credits. Will have to share it with the less fortunate.

The Ranked One thread (post here when you reach Rank I)
Shaka_D replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in General Discussion
39 battles.....guess that makes me a proper noob. This was a lot of fun, it would be great for WG to keep stuff like this up or at least vary the tiers a lot during prime ranked season, staying away from radar games and tier x. It actually allowed for a little fun for once in ranked with far less pressure. -
Did you get a Bonus Mission from the Great 8 Containers?
Shaka_D replied to DFens_666's topic in General Discussion
Bought 1, cried after having spent so much for a single container and then had a little pep talk with myself in the mirror. Got nothing and ok with that because the loss goes down to experience. Never was a good gambler. -
Always have to try figure out the motivation behind some posts. The OP clearly wants 1 copper and thus feels WG should change the rules so the OP can fulfill a need.
