Beware of steel to coal auto conversion!

What???? Are you saying that WG are steeling from you?

    .

So wait a sec...you want to get rewards for not playing or logging in? How exactly are you going to collect these rewards? You intend to not play until they beg you to come back? This is pretty desperate stuff. It's weird you want to earn rewards by not actually earning them.

    The Asashio + B

I got told twice in two days when going into a game with my asashio that the ship is a waste of time, once by a unicum from a well known clan who quoted some random BS stats (I told him he's pulling stats out his bum hole - I can forget applying to that clan), and second by a lesser life form who clearly had no asashio. These two occasions are by no means isolated incidents either, and while I should be tailoring down my responses to these curious little fellows and perhaps acting a little more tactful, I find myself now going straight for 4 letter words to tell them what I think of their 'opinion' which they just happen to be sharing with anyone who will listen in global chat. Suffice it to say in both the above games, and many like it, I've beaten them in score in the after match results. I'm not bragging, I'm simply implying people should not make too many generalisations about ships they don't have, or know fairly little about. The asashio is a torp boat with limited targets in bb's and cv's only, but it has great concealment and smoke and this means I can spot, cap and smoke up a team mate (which I do a lot of). The guns are not fantasitc in reload, but do pretty good damage and quite opportunist in use, so you'd be stupid to take on a bonefide gunboat on your own, just like you'd be stupid to steer your cv into the middle of a gunfight, or your bb into a capzone with a ouple of dd's around. Nevertheless, hitting an unsure enemy dd for over 2k damage (and more at times) is sometimes enough to render their shorts smelly and brown. It's also what I call my troll boat, seeing so many hapless ships scatter so quickly at the site of my deepwater torps is hilarious, and distracting for their team. There are apparently a lot of people out there whould would rather not take the chance by sailing in the path of DW torps from my little asashio. We need someone to write a song about it!

    Haida, eh?

No ways man, this honour belongs to the Blyska for a gunboat and the shiraihatsu thingy (sp sucks) for a torp fest

How stupid do you think we are ?

Despite what you folks say about 'being able to read' etc - WG's very brief mention is not sufficient, and very easily open to misinterpretation, there is absolutely no doubt about that. Massachusetts is not far away enough from Massachusetts B. And given it's open to misinterpretation so readily, it should be reworded very clearly. If you took this further (if you could) there is no way WG would win this case (even for something as stupid as this), they've questionably marketed the B ships with a mission which has a subtle catch. There is no point pretending to be smarter than anyone else because you've analysed it in hindsight when the first complaint came in, unless you want to sound like a self-important troll.
  8. On a side note, how do people maintain a positive credit balance in co-op playing high tiers?
  9. So they can sell the same ship twice, because 'collectors' want it, because they can.

    Have they nerfed the Missouri?!

    Me too, lol

    Have they nerfed the Missouri?!

Someones played with a toy, got bored with it, regrets getting it, and now wants a refund to use it on another toy, rinse and repeat. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Missouri - it rocks.

    Black Friday containers...broken?

Thanks for the explanation. Yes, I can see your point of view but in no way was I attacking you (if it's me you're referring to - there's a difference between an attack and trying to figure out the meanings behind vague responses). Your motivations for not liking bb's were not clear at all in your initial post, leaving it wide open to speculation. Someone speculated, then I speculated further. Yes, I personally find your reasons rather impractical, but we all play certain ships based on subjective preferences, yours just extend further down that path. I love brit ships, but play all ships, recognise them all for their worth and the ones I don't play are the ones I can't make work for me, that might not fit my playstyle. Some ships I don't like the look of and that may influence how much I play them, but I'd still play them if they were battle-worthy. You obviously have very very strong biases for some reason against the US (vessels?) and maybe others which is all I can rightly assume from the fact you say things like 'I don't like them because they are US ships". It seems short-sighted to judge ships based purely on the fact they belong to a certain nation but It's your life and we all have different preferences, just don't take such offence. You were not being insulted. EDIT: And with reference to this: "I don't like those ships" is about as objective a reason I can think of" - this is subjective, and not even remotely objective. Once again, nothing wrong with it, but its based on your preference, not from any neutral pov.

    Black Friday containers...broken?

I don't think that's what he (RegularLogic) meant. To me it sounds like he's referring to an external bias or something, i.e a dislike of US BB's for a reason other than the way they play. Must be, because there is nothing wrong with the Missouri, and my first game in my Massachussets got me 170 000 damage and it plays really well. And these are only two. I'm not sure Deckeru's preferences relate to gameplay, hence the reason I say external biases. In this respect it's silly imho, but each to their own and as you all say, we all chose ships we prefer to play, but my choices are based on ships I hate playing because I hate the way they play or don't fit my play style. Edit: Deckeru doesn't seem to have many US BB's in the first place (I could be wrong) so perhaps his judgement is purely subjective and grossly uninformed, which looking at his account ships it seems to be the case. But who knows. We think before we shoot someone down.

    Black Friday containers...broken?

Absolute funny stuff. I've purchased two black friday crates so far, one here, one there, both camos. Today I thought 'mmm, lets spend that last bit of cash in paypal (around £4 or so), maybe I'll get lucky and get the massachusetts B, I already have the regular versions of the others. You know where this story is going? So I buy another one for posterity. Open it, and there is the Massachusetts B, now in my port and looking all shiny and black as the night sky. So I have a tier 8 BB for around £12. Happy with that.
  15. PLaying the tier 4 IJN carrier - bombs feel underwhelming as hell. Damage for both rockets and bombs truly meh. Almost feels a weaste travelling so far and getting no damage, only to try again for no damage, then eventually 300hp, etc. whre are the instructions and why is it so hard to score any good hits?

    Black Friday containers...broken?

The black crate made of pixels is worth more than the contents of most of the crates themselves, don't expect anything and you won't be disappointed.

Wg, isn't cossack a bit too much?

Cossack is quite squishy, her HP vaporises fast from when hit even from tier 6 ships. Farragut hit me with 2 salvos last night and left me on on almost half hp. Is this even possible. Cossack needs to stay as is.

    Gambling and Lootboxes...

WG decides the value, we don't. How do you know you're getting something of the same value if you purchased them outright? Valuing things can be incredibly subjective, especially in the virtual world. Do you think £4 is worth 20 mediocre camo flags? I don't. We may value these things differently, not just economically either. I'm sure WG will justify the costs somehow, hindsight is 20/20 as they say. Doesn't mean I'm not stupid, because I think I am, I always purchase a loot box or two in the hope I get something. I'm an adult, but I set a limit on how much I'll spend, and its usually quote low cause I'm a poor git and have kids darling leeching me dry, haha (but I love it)

    Gambling and Lootboxes...

Aversion to loss, dopamine, risk seeking, and gamblers fallacy. Young folk are apparently more vulnerable and if not checked could possibly lead to addictions in adulthood. People buy loot boxes for the possible thrill of winning something for nothing, and then a number of psychological factors come into play which keeps some people going for more. The economics driving the gaming world is ropey at best, and my honest opinion is that some gaming companies conveniently turn a blind eye because there is no regulation stopping them. If WG truly cared about young peoples minds (and some of us adults, haha) they would not have loot boxes unless there is some sort of age verification or consent process, or at least sell loot boxes in which you know exactly what you are getting, i.e. no random chance for ships, etc.

Black Friday Missions, 50k BASE XP

    Lol, what a contradiction.
  21. Indeed, but even if they sell one of these packages they've made money, and there is always one silly fool out there, haha.

PSA: Black Friday 2,500 doubloon mission

Yes indeed, but I'm sure this is a stereotypical / textbook response and possibly a key demographic WG were aiming for - Those who don't have it, weren't planning to part with money to buy it now, maybe not even thinking of buying it at all, but quickly tempted because of the 30% off enticement. Ticks all the boxes and an easy little nudging of people over the line. WG's marketing scores another goal, but there's nothing wrong with it of course, lol. Maybe I shouldn't have acted so surprised and sanctimonious in the first place.
  23. Just arranging to sell my family to feed this ludicrous addiction I'm slowly weaning myself off of because of the increasing costs and over-valuing of virtual items no-one actually owns. Deep breath. I guess it'll have to be no in this case.
