  1. I don't think this is useful advice at all, do you? Think about it a little. Planes can get places a lot quicker at a moments notice, places can be told where to spot by other players on their team, dd torps are a nice directional indicator as to where to start looking, rpf helps even more, radar, hydro....what defense does a dd have against this other than to sail 'somewhere else'? The problem is there are far far more cv's in the lineup these days meaning more and more people are playing them, meaning you are more likely to be in a game with one (or two) and with that comes more games where playing a dd is harder..you are spotted more easily, more often and there are only so many places you can go, but as a dd your job is the area between your team and the enemy, you know this surely? That area has now become harder if not impossible to navigate unseen with so many cv's in the mix. Whats the point of a dd then? sail with his cruisers and bb's and do nothing?
  2. 'Unless you make mistakes'? Pffff.....I'm not sure what to say to that remark, it's an incredibly overly simplistic view to see the issue as simply a mistake on the part of the player, lool. It certainly can be the cause in some cases, even a lot of cases, but to explain it away as a player mistake is not good enough. Once there were fewer cv's playing, now there are a whole lot of cv's in the mm lineup these days. I've gone more games with cv's lately that none and where it was tolerable before, now playing a dd means I'm certainly going to stay spotted most of the game. Add to this radar and hydro and the dd class is on its way out, especially those ships whose torpedo ranges are too short and who need to rely on their guns.
  3. It may take several runs to kill you, but problem is everything else kills you because you're almost permaspotted....moots the point of even playing a dd. I mentioned it before that WG need to stop thinking on a micro level of a 1v1 scenario and start focussing a little more on the bigger picture....dd gameplay even with one cv usually renders stealth inconsequential.

Is this becoming the norm now?

Thanks, appreciate it. Haven't read anything website related the last few days.

Is this becoming the norm now?

Is the Azuma available for free xp too? Apologies, at work!
  6. Yes, I must admit my hearts not really excited about submarines anymore. After having played Battlestations Pacific and seeing how well they implemented submarine gameplay into they arcade type game so many years ago I would have hoped that WG would look at similar mechanics...but with the ongoing frustration with cv's and the fact I don't even feel like playing anymore (because there are just sooooo many cv's and its broken my dd gameplay), I cannot see submarines entering the game without causing massive frustration and upset.

    ST - French destroyers

And now with cv's added in full force after the remake this line definitely has zero chance.
  8. Yes, +1 for a shopping basket. Also, can we have that damned 'remove all signals' option already too? All these practical little things that really do matter in the end and make the experience all the better, but no, we still have to feel like we're using old tech with old 'run around the houses' experiences taking so long to do anything and way too fidgety.

    Yubari build?

You folks really worry about the details of low tier builds so much? Or is everyone stat padding in them these days?

    Thank You

And before you get all the more confused OP, it seems our time is one of the most underrated currencies when we say 'we got this and that for free'. Something for free means you truly get it for nothing, gifted, inherited. As some of our less informed and perhaps less experienced colleagues here have yet to learn, time is one of the most expensive commodities there is, but that all depends on how you value yours. I value my time as incredibly precious, so I never get anything for free from WG.....they do me no special favours, I earn such things by playing and by committing time to the game (which I happen to enjoy - not lately though). If you stake a low value of time and will happily grind away hours, days, weeks for a ship here and there and still think it was for free - then thats cool, just not entirely accurate from a bartering sense, haha. Have fun, take care.

    Naval Aviation containers

And they say they're random, haha. Makes you wonder just how tweaked the drop rates really are versus how random they say they are, lol. We'll never know, but it's incredibly naive to think it' all random as random can be.

    Armada: HMS Exeter

I wouldn't mind buying her alone without the admiral pack BS. I just want to buy the ship without having to grind her for free (no time and no patience for yet another long boring grind) and without wanting to pay for a bloated sales bundle.

    Republique secondary build now best?

Wisest words spoken on the forums for a long time...........Live-streaming often helps peel back little of the halo effect wrapped around some YouTubers judgements and abilities.

Cloned (and similar) ships: too many!

WG could clone each ship 1000 times and still sell them because some of our 'esteemed' player base label themselves collectors and as such have no restraint on buying more and more of the same. Hell, you could simply change a single pixel, make it a different colour and a collector will have it with open wallet. And of course, this makes WG rich, happy and as long as no-one ever questions them and as long as sock puppets divide the player base (often players do this on their own) nothing will ever change. Then again, I'm just cynical, upset with the regression of gameplay due to the current mess with the cv's, salty because WG don't really give a toss because they don't need to, and all-round have lost my love for the game because all the above. We want more ships, WG have limited pool to choose from in the long term, so they have to 'make hay while the sun shines'. Maybe we should show a little more cohesion as a player base like some of the Anthem crowd are doing toward EA et al.

So what is the consensus on CVs ?

No matter how political WG get and whatever propaganda they employ still doesn't change the fact that the cv's are a disaster and dd gameplay is ruined. Do WG not adopt a holistic approach when making changes, or do they simply focus on one thing hoping that the collateral damage is not that far reaching?
  16. CV gameplay is not that great, in fact the whole rework has put me right off cv's and seeing one in battle now just ruins the game for me - so I'd rather be back in port choosing another ship hoping there's not a cv in the next battle. Just being honest, I'm truly not excited by the change to cv's overall, I think WG have taken the game a number of steps back instead of enhancing it and it's made me rethink how much I feel like playing it now and the truth is, not much. Playing cv's just feels 'stupid' (intelligent feedback for you) and playing dd's with cv's in the lineup feel pointless. Some like the cv's, some don't, whether it results in some players losing interest in the game because they feel its deteriorated overall who knows, but I personally can't see how cv's will draw in any new players...it was a noble idea to rework them, but they were better as they were than compared to how they are now.
  17. ...WG creates hype about dd's........player1 rushes out to buy the SIMS....nah, just kidding. Who needs a dd these days, tactical gameplay is almost gone.
  18. The idea gets my vote, even though I have not played enough. I'd be happy to see those deserving get a little something for their extreme patience, other than long hair and diminishing resilience.

    1 000 000 fxp

And therein lies the mystery, since the signals are mysteriously elusive in sufficient quantities.
  20. But my clan only has two players in it, and I am one of them. I'd like to demote my friend to the lowest possible rank so the power difference between us will be vast..............and then he'll tell me to %$£* off and I'll promote him to replace me.
  21. I gave up because after 11 games I only had one with a cv in it and he sent his planes to the oppsite side of the map to where I was. It's a really stupid mission setup to be honest, WG have failed here monumentally. Reminds me of some of the WOT missions where you had to do 4k damage to TD's and then you never ever saw them or saw very little of them in over 50 games (for me anyways). When luck plays a part like this in terms of hunting for a partular class of ship to kill, it's stupid beyond stupid. This was one of the very reasons I left WOT due to laziness on their part. People were cheating left right and centre by rigging games while I was trying to do it properly and never got to complete them. Gave up. Since this mission set I've not played that much either. It's off-putting to me.

BB players - Please seek AA ships to cover you

I not overly sorry to say this, but if ships were people I'd never have any time for anyone with a cv or bb personality. Does this make sense? A cv player once told me if it was my fault for not evading his cross-dropped torps while in my dd, it was impossible to evade some of those drops and dd's were thus helpless. He hardly played dd's. Some people who major in playing mostly a single class are often ignorant and incredibly biased and should certainly not be giving advice to others on the ships they themselves do not play much of. We get these big maps and then you expect everyone to f'ing clump together just to avoid being targeted by a single ships' planes? So one ship from one class overwhelmingly influences the very direction and group formations people have to undertake? There is no room for individual flair? And don't talk to me of realism, it doesn't apply here because then you'd need to apply the concept universally and we'd fall very short almost everywhere.
  23. I am so over the constant grindy-grindy mission sets. Just not appealing when you have limited time to play.
  24. I asked for this ages ago, a number of times. @MrConway Any feedback relating to something like this? I can't recall it ever being noted by WG, maybe they've heard our call but I doubt it. It's an incredibly practical addition to the port and ship configurations.
