@AndyHill: I'd like you to clarify what you mean when you indicate that statistics show that submarines are widely liked - I'd like you to very much explain how it's possible then for numerous people on the forums to claim that 'most players' don't like subs. I'm pretty sure that these dubious ideas have been put forward as facts on many an occasion. The point here being, not a single person on these forums can claim to know the real figures of how many like or dislike subs, not a single person other than perhaps those in WG. It all remains hypothetical and there is so much bias permeating the minds of many here that they're finding hard to tell fact from fiction. When the few think they're representative of the many but have zero unbiased, truly objective evidence to this effect. Much ado about nothing, to quote a phrase. Besides, subs have beome very hard to play with all the changes made to them. Short dive capacities, very easily spotted by all, low torpedo damage, and when damaged show a lovely trail easily targetted by ASW. Once set upon, I'd argue their survival time is lower that any other vessel in the game.

Not sure what you're getting at. People remaining silent could hold both negative or positive views on subs, but what is certainly not sunstantiated is the minority claiming the majority don't like subs and the 'for or against' vote of the silent majority remains unknown. Though anecdotal, I have personally spoken with many people who dont just like playing subs, but love it. Again this evening more subs in the lineup than bb's on a number of occasions. The point is, it is my educated guess that those on the forums who claim noone likes subs, WG are lying about the stats, etc are gravely mistaken in their claim of there being such generalised numbers against subs. Only time will tell, only WG knows much of this info, and I cannot imagine from a business sense they would implement something they know everyone hates. So something doesn't add up in what many on these here forums are claiming. Just far too much assumption to be regarded as fact IMHO.

I can honestly see why WG would tend to keep a safe distance from these forums. People here have been consumed by negativity, and all this place has become is a whine board for those resisting change with everything they have. Of course WG are going to use creative license with their products...how could we honestly expect everything to be perfectly accurate all the time in a game? Flamu makes me laugh at times, and I find him entertaining some of the time, but the guy has nothing positive to say. His personal vendetta against WG and bias have made his opinion only that....opinion and his reviews are far from objective, which is a real pity. It appears many here would preceed him off a cliff if he said jump. The guy is leading a flock of sheep who are drawn to his popularity as opposed to his accuracy of thought.

I'm seeing a lot of subs in the lineup....in fact tonight there were more subs in the matchmaking lineup than other classes in many of the games I played. So if we believe the forums, most don't like subs, if we analyse the matchmaking lineup subs are quite popular. Once again, it's a question of which are the most reliable stats, which are tainted by bias, and which group tends to be more vocal. I would guess that those who don't like them are far more vocal, giving a false consensus that most hate them. When WG have a stream and there are over 10k viewers watching, there is always a tiny tiny minority who say something negative about subs (possibly less than 10?), but most keep very very quiet. Their silence potentially speaks volumes if we go on the word of many here. My opinion is subs are quite popular at present, likely because many are curious and trying them. Be interesting to see if their popularity wanes or grows. I know this won't sit well with many here, but there it is.

Crazy speed arcade game with subs???? The contradiction in terms of what you just said astounds. You highlight potential issues with two classes you don’t like, and ignore the problems with all the other classes. Each has its poison, why stop at subs and cvs?

@op, maybe it was another battle you were afk in? Late notice? Maybe you were late loading in and were reported as being afk. Only you know the truth of it. We can’t offer sympathy if we don’t know who’s innocent.

Is the poll bias because it's likely that most on the forums are known to hate subs or are at least more vocal about their dislike thereof? Therefore any poll on these forums is simply going to say much of the same thing over and over. Don't shoot me, I'm only asking. I look at the game line up when I press battle and there always seems to be a reasonable proportion of sub players in the lineup.

Still no fix for this? Incredible. Now we have the battle pass thingymajigbob so doubt it will come soon. Epic fail by WG. Impossible to believe this is too complicated to have fixed a long long long time ago. Just means they're bluffing....also known as lying most likely.

Yeh, rather silly of WG. Make Op wolfpack playable only in a division now. Genius.

This is going to hurt me in the long run, I know, but I'm actually really enjoying the sub gameplay in wolfpack. It's reinvigorated my enjoyment in the game somewhat and it's fun. Using it to learn to how play with subs and will then take it to randoms. Now.......who wants to punch me first?

Indeed, but this one was pure psychology because the same result was inevitable without there being a pack of cards present. The cards were nothing but a visual supplement in my case. He could have written it down on a piece of paper. I had never looked at any of the cards anyhow, only asked to think of one in my head following our initial conversation. Had he shown me cards beforehand it might not have worked.

Not entirely true. A guy once demonstrated to me how easy it is to subconciously manipulate someone and coerce a desired response without them knowing. I spoke with a colleague, and unknowing to me he deliberately dropped a few key words here and there during our ten minute casual conversation. He used phrases like 'that diamond mate, great idea', and 'Rose thinks she's a queen, don't you think?', and every now and then he'd throw in those two words again casually, almost as if part of his normal vocab. At the end of the conversation he asked if he could show me a card trick. Ultimately, he asked me to think of the cards in a deck of cards and pick one at random in my head. He then went through a deck and chose one and put it face down. He asked me to reveal what I had thought of......it was the queen of diamonds...and this was the card he had selected. Mind-reading he said....Had I been prepared for this trick, knowing its method beforehand, it wouldn't have worked. Now this is a very, very simple example of how easy it is to prey on people and deliberately programme their behaviour to coerce a specific response. It's the art of gamification. So, I guess we can only stop it if we're aware of it in the first place. How many are aware of this you think? Most would probably never think this deeply when playing a game.... 'it's just a game'.

Whatever the reason, I distrust WG sufficiently enough based on their prior record to know the issue is not technical, but financial. The EU playerbase are milk cows, always have been and always will be. Call me a conspiracy theorist, doesn't matter, but I know what I know

How do you do your taxes? There is huge financial logic in it. Whether the PR event is really to blame or not is another question obviously, but there is definitely sound financial incentive for WG to tap into a few well known human frailties which are known to increase profit margins....such as the need for instant gratification, loss aversion, etc etc. Psych is heaviliy involved in marketing decision making...I'd strongly suggest you rework your tax calcs...you might have overpaid needlessly by the sounds of it ;)
