If people stop criticising the way I play then I'll stop being toxic....so who came first, the chicken or the egg? When some fool poops his pants in his bb because I'm not spotting for him in that moment in my dd when I was spotting all along while he was hiding, I sure as hell have a right to tell him where to go shove his attitude. And I may do it colourfully too, because I'm all for rainbows and such.

Meh I reckon. Speed is something I use on dd's, my style doesn't rely on speed in anything bigger. Secondaries are still close game stuff and heal is fine, although I would hope there are a lot of them if you're going to be losing hp faster. But then I suppose the downside to making her like most of the other bb's is exactly that, she then becomes like most bb's and that's just boring. If they gave her torps like the gneis. then I'd be tempted (but that prob goes against her actual layout). Reckon I'll wait for general consensus before deciding.

Not really excited about this one. 6 guns on a bb at tier 9 seems really underwhelming, followed by the fact it's marketed as a threat at close to medium range. Who in their right mind plays the close to medium game early on in a bb other than the braindead hordes in randoms (think I just answered it). Its got late game written all over it - I'm not waiting 10 or more minutes to have a little fun at the end, I want to get stuck in at the beginning of the game. Admittedly though I've not read a single review on it, only just first impressions from the images and the marketing statement from WG and even so it doesn't seem to inspire confidence or enthusiasm.

No real point unless lots of samples can be given, validated, and time/date stamped so we know when the games took place. WG can capitalise on the forums representing a tiny part of the player base and with the fact that even this small number of more loyal fans are so fragmented it won't make much difference what anyone decides. Add to this apophenia and some folks whose thoughts are not always grounded in reality and you have a situation no-one can do anything about. Bottom line is, WG wins every time. They can change stuff all they like whenever they like and none of us will be any the wiser. i know people and I do not for one miserable second think WG wouldn't manipulate such things, but I'm one person and I have no proof, just my experience and knowledge of human nature when it comes to economics and capitalism. Ultimately is means nothing to anyone with more power and agency over the situation than I have, and in this case WG have all of it. This is a dish best served with a glass of whiskey and a good television program to watch, far away from your computer :)

Must admit I feel strongly similar to this. It's all too much the same in terms of boring, overrated missions, expensive overrated signal and camo values, overly grindy missions sets, containers which in themselves offer very little unless you opt for very very expensive premium ones. The games lack of content truly shines through. Ship releases are slow, scenarios cannot be repeated solo and even if so are epically unrewarding. Lots of expensive ships (one way or the other) in development and not released and / or never heard of again. I have credits, camo's and signals to last me forever, don't need doubloons at all. There is technically no overall long term reason to play. I have more ships than I can ever use. If there were missions for steel or whatever new currency they can dream up I might be driven to play more, but at the moment the game forces people into more social scenarios by playing clan wars or in divisions for any sort of enjoyment. Solo play is boring but all I can muster up given work and family commitments. With all their haste to make excuses, WG are sure slow on churning out more long term content or side mission sets or something. Even watching their streams has become trash because it requires us to sign on and support them with nothing in return, or a system that is flawed and severely capped it becomes a totally one-way relationship in favour of wargaming and their streamers, despite them advertising that things like twitch drops etc are still active. Bottom line is the game is an environment that strongly favours WG at the moment and not the players. I've given up on twitch and won't support any more streamers per say. Our needs are just as important to us as theirs are to them. And now we have the cv screw up, which I like playing but which has ruined the dd class almost completely. //Essay over

May Combat Missions: Bismarck in Action!
Shaka_D replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Nevermind the prices, it's all rather underwhelming. Who are they catering for? -
Did anyone get the CV from "Naval Aviation Container" earned by playing (i.e. "Free" one - not bought via "Premium Shop")?
Shaka_D replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Containers have been quite disappointing. It wasn't technically hard to get the regular containers, but it is a slog to get them, requiring quite a fair amount of time and when opened they were hardly worth the effort, lol. WG have a severe problem in so far as over-valuing their signal flags, camo's, etc. Sometimes they get it right, but signals and camo's are so ubiquitous now yet they still make really minor amounts as rewards for lengthy missions, etc. I'm a premium player and while I know many people might not be, signals and camo's are things I have huge amounts of so their value to me is really low, yet WG continue treating them as precious items by creating missions and rewards which yield only a couple of the things. Perhaps WG are not grounded in reality. I am not even remotely excited by regular containers anymore, nor their small little mission sets. Development on this game is slow, missions are boring, rewards utterly underwhelming for premium players. Am I spoilt? No, I'm a particular demographic in the WoWs gaming community who is important due to consistently supporting the game and yet quite hard for them to cater for. I might be alone in this, haha. Where's that mirror? -
Spot on. Rather convenient for them, lol. Yet so many streamers conveniently continued drawing people in with 'supercontainer' and twitch drop advertisements in their titles despite knowing there was a widely advertised problem. Amazing isn't it?

Impossible play with DD after this CV rework
Shaka_D replied to Mydgard's topic in General Discussion
Those dd players are only doing what many of us feel like doing sometimes too. Can't really blame them, cv gameplay has rendered the once fun dd an almost totally useless ship. I like cvs, they are fun to play, but so many of them around its not funny. AA configs are now basically compulsory on every ship. How sad. Being a tier 8 dd blown to pieces in two passes from a midways rockets, etc is not fun at all. There is nothing that dd can do, nothing, not with radar exposing him, ubiquitous planes spotting him, etc. -
There are quite a few WG team members you can send messages to, they are usually quite good at responding or directing you to the correct place. Whining about it here is a little silly.

I must admit, since complaining about cv's so much I started playing them to give them a fair chance. Ultimately I like playing cv's, really enjoying it in fact, but it feels unfair when there are two of us. Additionally, Hunting dd's is far too easy, they have no defense, at least no proper AA to speak of. I'm not sure how WG are going to fix this aspect of the game because to me they've taken one class and 'fixed it' and rendered an entirely other class almost completely useless. DD's have no HP pool and rather abysmal AA and with cv rockets and bombs doing repeated attacks in one go the dd's stand almost no chance. Whats the point of playing them? You cannot play a dd close to your teams cruisers and BB's just for protection, it's not what the class was meant to do, because if so good luck trying to make any credits and XP, unless they reward you handsomely for being a mobile smokehouse. Brit DD's are even worse off with the ultra short smoke duration, so you can't even hide from planes hoping the cv loses interest. I really feel upset by this ruination of dd's and to be honest cannot see how they intend to balance this out in the end. I hate to say it but WG have clearly not thought this through, it comes across as a rank amateur decision on their part because they failed to see the negative externality they've created by blindly persecuting the dd class. Good at programming, rather lousy at holistically evaluating these kinds of things. Perhaps they were too far gone in the development of the new age cv gameplay they couldn't admit an error was made. Granted the game samples are rather low so far, but I'm already seeing less and less dd's in games. A positive correlation to the increase in cv's and changed cv gameplay perhaps?

Apparently there was a hard cap on twitch drops and they're all finished. I wouldn't bother if I were you. I've not got anything for 4 days and I'm not the only; one, tons of folk are questioning it.

How does a person apply to become a super tester. I've played the game since alpha and think it's time to contribute towards it's development, even if only in a small way? Thanks
-
I'm not going to name names because that would be unfair to use their name in vein given the conflict of interests, but why not pop on to a few of the streams and ask yourself, but I have 3 so far who have stated an issue exists as in lots of people have been complaining, and one streamer admits it's not working for them when they watch other peoples streams.
-
Of course, you're right, but I think in a business like this to not have almost 24/7 support acknowledging certain information and fixing things appears to me to be shortsighted on their part. We've had twitch streams on steroids all weekend, thousands joining and nothing happening. Lots of people talking, and even streamers themselves admitting something gone wrong. To let the weekend disappear like this with no fix when people have more time to support streams and play also seems to be shortsighted. I'm not looking to burn anyone at the stake for this, but if the issue is not given a high profile then nothing will be done about it in the future......if people always stay overly polite then the status quo will hardly change. Sad but a proven way of raising issues when events like this remain untreated for prolonged periods. And it is a problem because streamers are advertising twitch drops when they're not happening, and this will lure many people in on false pretexts....
-
There seems to be a major disconnect between what streamers are advertising on their streams and what is happening in reality - they're all saying twitch drops active, but they're not active. I wouldn't bother logging on to any stream unless you're up for some watching rather than playing yourself :)
-
They've maybe 'run dry' or turned them off because we're getting too much? Maybe I'm a little bitter for never having received a cc crate where so many have received multiple such crates, haha, but all in all it's ridiculous. Granted, we know we should be watching streams for the sake of the stream but drops, rewards, giveaways are a massive part of these things. I'll be really honest and admit I only occasionally sign in to watch streams to hear of upcoming developments and releases (and see test plays of newer ships) but I principally connect for the giveaways and drops, otherwise I'd have no reason to go to twitch. I'm not a fanboy, I don't hero worship people because they're pretty or good players. Sorry, I know it's an unpopular opinion. But with this said, after connecting I sometimes enjoy watching for a bit if it's entertaining (if the streamer is entertaining), otherwise it's a waste of time and life. The point here is that while we should be signing on to streams to watch and support a streamer (why I am not sure exactly), giveaways are part and parcel of every event. We visit the stream for rewards, the streamer streams for rewards (they're not as altruistic as many of you think) - it's a two way relationship and while we're there the streamer occasionally shares info and tests ships and we give them a viewer-base so they can earn. Many of you should perhaps redefine the way you think about things in so far as looking at the true relationship we have with WG and their affiliates, we need them as much as they need us. The value some of you place on them is far higher than your own worth? We are all in it for rewards ladies and gentlemen, WG are in it for the advertising and money, streamers are in it for money and recognition, and we the players are in it for rewards and fun - don't let anyone make you feel bad about wanting free stuff - once we get this small little business understanding out of the way we can all just sit back and have fun and joke about things - but that little business arrangement must be there to get us all involved in the first place. It's a little like an invisible business handshake and acknowledgement before the fun begins.
-
If they do put them into ranked I suspect very few people will play their dd so ranked meta may shift to cruisers, bb's and cv's. Does that sound like a fair guess?

One game is a measurement of very little in terms of trends so that moots your point with your replay, it's merely one sample and too little to be anything meaningful. Also, I have witnessed more bb players complaining about cv players making mistakes and not protecting their bb's - in fact more so than I've seen dd players complaining. Does that make me right and you wrong, or are you still right? Subjective....isn't it. Further, the only complaint I've witnessed recently between dd and cv's are because its currently hard to play dd's were so many cv's in the game and planes flying about, not so much about 'mistakes' but rather about mechanics and mm. I understand your pov aims to neutralise the seemingly one sided complaints against cv's but really man, you cant go around establishing generalisations based on minuscule and subjective experiences. Everyone makes mistakes, dd's cv's etc etc etc. The problem with the game is the cv / dd gameplay aspect.....not so much the people commanding the classes...the people just get in the way - they are in-between. Every single one of us makes mistakes in almost every single game.....a lot of time its luck of the draw too. I've seen many players get angry with each other no matter the class of ship, its mostly down to being sore losers, but as for the amount of cv's and dd gameplay, well that goes beyond subjective experiences, but only really in terms of numbers of cv's in each game.
-
You witness a couple of games where dd's made mistakes (which is debatable because it may have been a mistake in your eyes but not his so who is right?) and now think that those specific players will be reading the forums and not only this, but now it applies in a general sense? DD gameplay in a general has been degraded badly by cv's, specifically the fact that many games are dominated by two cv's each side. Take it too that given your argument we can also argue that many cv's make mistakes, so how do we possibly know that those games you witnessed the cv's weren't the ones making the mistake? It's all very very very subjective isn't it and a totally one-sided dubious argument? The more accurate rule is no-one should blame anyone until they themselves are sure they have a clean rep relating to the situation and that they too made no mistakes, whether related or unrelated to the issue at hand. Otherwise, I call fake news

No life, just grinding little bits of coal through long games makes for very very boring gameplay and something that will not have positive impacts on how people feel about the game.

Sorry to see we hit a nerve for you. Everybody’s stats go up and down, but the people I am referring too are those of the extreme fringe........and I can have fun at the same time as try to do more to contribute to my teams efforts, almost every single game I play in wows has the team in mind. Some people don’t get it’s a team game and some people seem to think that having fun and trying to win are separate from each other.....everyone wants to have fun and stats overall are not the most important thing, we all mostly get this, but the object of every match is to win. Even rewards are geared more toward winning so ask WG about this. Daily doubles for the first win, some missions needs wins, or how about those missions to ‘be in the top 3 or top 5.....just a few examples from an extremely wincentric game and you wonder why people get competitive....? Stop being so over-sensitive about nothing, it’s probably because of people like you the world has an issue with over political correctness.....there are very bad player in this game who serve to downgrade the game for the rest of us by doing nothing and have high game counts high tiers and terrible overall stats.
-
Yes and no, most are bad in the beginning but many tend to develop their skills as they grow in the game, but some don’t, they remain far far far below average even as they progress in game count and tier. You know who these people are, you’ve seen them, AND no one is being nasty, we are speaking about it rather respectfully. No need to act like dad here thanks

When the hell did this game move beyond just pointing and clicking, life was so simple then.
