Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Shaka_D replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Just met @daki in a ranked game, both in our JB's. He said hello and all I could says was 'Fair winds and following seas' in global chat because of the stupid chatban again. Hi daki, saw you mate, and at one point we had a good tit for tat going exchanging fire ;). I almost got that last shot out at you when the musashi ended me. -
Are mentors allowed to give newer players a running $*&@ slap if they do something stupid? Sorry, I'm old school.

Message to WG regarding premium time.
Shaka_D replied to Migantium_Mashum's topic in General Discussion
I love it when newer guys (although in this case not so new) come on to the forums and ask the same questions us older 'hasbeens' asked over and over and over again a long, long time ago. The forums are starting to suffer a little 'live-die-repeat' syndrome. -
I've seen a fair few in the mid 30%ers. It's simply unbelievable that 'things' (not people) like this actually exist and breathe on their own. You know, there is ZERO hope for humanity on this planet. These intellectually challenged things are going to breed and breed and breed. Someone close to average I get, but so far down the ability tree? Maybe they have valid reasons, like severe learning difficulties - this I could also understand - but they speak and swear at you when you call them out and so on. I have little tolerance for stupidity, little tolerance for people 'choosing' to play a team game and then doing everything but teamplay. I cannot understand it.....but I can blame WG for their lack of foresight and inability to earlier on establish some sort of a filter preventing anyone that low from playing randoms...
-
Yup, just like the alsace player on our team who sailed to the border until everyone was dead on our team and then came in to fight at the end. Really cool that these types of people are allowed to exist in this game, let alone breathe and steal our air. Would it be so bad if we threw them off a cliff to rid the earth of their vile selfishness and drain on our hard efforts? WG won't do anything and their report system is fubar, I'm currently on my 4th chatban for some mystery reason other than seeing my karma points dive after games when I kill people in ranked. Now I can't talk to anyone for 10 days, how stupid is that? WG truly inspire zero confidence in this...

When is the next free xp ship coming? -
There are always two sides or more to a story. Simply stated, people playing badly using the excuse they're just here for the fun should also remember that they are playing a team game where their actions or lack thereof will impact others. When your actions impact others they have a right to complain to and about you....a sad reality and rightly so. If you want to have fun where you can play badly or below average and not suffer any form of criticism, play a solo game or stay in coop mode. Fun is subjective, we're all here for the fun, respect that our actions impact others and appreciate how they may feel about it. Bad players sometimes win because better players carry them forward. They should remember this when they unlock that next ship sooner, or rank up, or get their next reward faster. Better players should remember not everyone plays to a high standard. Simple as.

What WG couldnt deliver to you in 3 years of endless requests, a modder has a done in one day
Shaka_D replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in General Discussion
It's a relatively simple yet critical addition to the game which does away with the very fiddly nature of adding and removing individual flags from numerous ships, especially when you have so many ships in your port. It's a nice feature to have and those not in favour do not have to use it, but my bet is those who advocate so loudly against this brilliant, far overdue feature will no doubt use it, and I bet quite a lot. I myself am hugely surprised WG have not implemented this feature yet, it's actually a massive oversight on their part if you ask me and almost unforgivable. WG are not by any means a small company, nor are they incapable of this. I suggest people look past their fanboy-based bias and look at this very practically. I want to spend more time in battle, not freakin clicking buttons demounting signal flag after signal flag one at a time. -

That was fast mate, was just about to post it myself..thought I'd get there first but you were obviously very ready for it, lol. +1 for sharing!

When the Supercontainers for WG's anniversary?
Shaka_D replied to Amun_RA's topic in General Discussion
Indeed, super containers will no longer feel super when you open them because in reality they may likely have tweaked the content drop rates. It's easy for them to manipulate such things without us knowing a thing. Also easy to always think the worst of WG's intentions, but that's their own fault, they've not exactly helped their own cause any. -
Naval Training Center - Ideas & suggestions
Shaka_D replied to Crysantos's topic in General Discussion
A lot of what WG are trying to reverse now with a change of this nature is likely because most of their strategies for the game were more short-term hit-and-run monetisation-based rather than being oriented toward the longer term meta. They're now faced with an issue of people not playing lower tiers as much? Was this news to them? Is it not a little late to wake up? Convenient to ignore information right in front of their faces when it's not the information they were interested in. Little bit of selective bias there and a systematic disrespect for player feedback. Well, so many people here have put forward some really good ideas without the need to reset ships. Whether WG actually reads and truly digests any of it in a meaningful way is anybody guess, but in truth I don't think they will. I wouldn't even bet a penny on it. -
This is my tactic too, but usually followed by an ever-increasing time-based chat ban....but these days I'm being banned for not saying anything, just getting reported it seems. So now I've taken to saying 'well done' a lot, to even the worst of the players...they might just be stupid enough to not realise I'm taking the mick when they do something so anti-common sensical and I congratulate them.

The thought of regrinding lines and playing stock ships, often with horrendous gun ranges and other 'fun and engaging' stock non-enhancements, and which more often than not get up-tiered in battles is enough to drive me from this game. I wonder if this will become the proverbial straw that broke the camels back? I'm already at my wits end with the continuous overzealous money-grabbing orientation taken driven by WG and the discourses implying we're ungrateful for asking for anything more, but if this change to the game goes through I cannot see such a drastic action being welcomed without some sort of very healthy compensation to those who have already spent a fair amount of time grading up to tier x of numerous ships. I wholeheartedly endorse Colonel Pete's view on this.

poll Ship Drops from standard French Destroyer Containers

Is it just me or does there seem to be inconsistency between the statistics for question 1 and 2? -
Wargaming, why do you regard your EU players as second class citizens?
Shaka_D replied to BlackFish__'s topic in General Discussion
I can't exactly see how your example above reinforces your title statement adequately. Yes, it would be nice if the information release was as simultaneous as they can make it, but this does feel a little like nit-picking. WG have always, no matter the title, seemed to fail at maintaining consistency across different server groups, so much so I've come to expect independent information releases, events, and the like, and therefore am not disappointed. It's not like anyones life depends on it does it? Just accept they're not that great at communicating and a few other things and forget about it. You'll find your life hasn't changed by this. If you learn to stop expecting things, even reasonable behaviour from some folk, then you can't be accused of being entitled, as misplaced as that would be, nor will you be disappointed. They write the rules and overall it doesn't really matter. -
WGBIRTHWGBIRTHDAY21 receive 10x Engine Boost II Consumable, 10x Sierra Mike Signal Flags, 10x November Foxtrot, and 5x FTW Camo only just noticed this one now, not sure if anyone else has seen it, I might be late to the party.

Lets not get into a petty tit-for-tat argument here. You're defining this 'debate' in a rather simplistic way, a knee-jerk reaction to me offering my frustration at failing despite trying to watch a stream and therefore missing a code which is this case was only active during the stream, unlike other codes in the past. Given too that there were conflicting stories in this post it was open to interpretation the codes may work. Yes, I hear what you are saying, you're not that complicated to understand, believe me. You call me entitled, a throwaway word people tend to use despite fully understanding it's implications . Silly you. Obviously, WG and by proxy, you, will win out here. I have no authority over this, only feedback via way of frustration. They make the rules, the published info was clear in retrospect. but advertised as a 50k follower celebration it can been seen as 'thanks for following us' rather than a 'thanks for watching this single stream'. The first mistake was mine for expecting more, in more ways than one, but honestly, I really thought better of you. I guess the Quality poster is highly subjective, lol. Hope you have a great day.

That's quite a good haul. Those 1500 steel ones are rather nice aren't they?

'entitlement'..this has nothing to do with entitlement so give it a rest. I'm not asking for special treatment or demanding any right to anything. I 'asked' very respectfully for WG to reconsider their approach in the future since I feel their current formula can be punitive toward those who have shown long term loyalty but who in a single instance may not have been able to participate? Surely you of all people can understand this rather than riding that high-horse of yours in the overly self-righteous approach you seem to have adopted? I come a position of feeling disappointed that despite best efforts to be there I could not, yet have been there most times in the past. I come from a position of diplomatically asking for consideration, not for them to fix what has happened, but for the future. You on the other hand have done nothing but suggest rather undiplomatically that 'that's the way it was designed so accept it and shut up, we're lucky they do for us what they do'. I'm sorry, but in this case you've jumped the proverbial gun and you've triggered rather badly. I seriously suggest you calm down and look at this from a more empathetic viewpoint. There are no demands being made here.

'lucky for us'.....' WG are being nice'.......'policed'..........'..found it amusing'. Are we sheep - should we feel blessed in some way that we are afforded such kindness and generosity - do you???? If codes were only ever active 'during' streams then so be it, but historically this is not the case and even though, as mentioned, it was published it would be only active during the stream you can surely understand the frustration I feel for missing out despite my best efforts and despite the fact that I have been following their streams and other streamers to be more a part of the community rather than just a critic of it. Not to mention the confusion created by a few replies in this post. If loyalty and participation are not reciprocated then I fear it truly is a little one-sided. And to be fair, they're saying that all the other times I've signed in to support their stream on Twitch doesn't matter? That this particular stream is the only one that counts? Now, I did not ask for your intervention on their behalf, otherwise I would have linked you in, and I did not ask for them to rectify the current issue - I asked for them to consider a more of a holistic approach in the future. No more, no less.

Yes, I realise it was well advertised (hence the reason I mentioned it, therefore no need to capitalise and bold it as if to scream it out), but with others posting saying it worked for them, well then a person can only hope that perhaps the overly short-sighted and overly strict rules were relaxed a little. If this is the stance WG want to take then to be honest it's ridiculous. You can watch stream after stream and miss one and are inadvertantly punished for it? What a great way to thank your loyal fans supporters. Just leaves a bitter taste which ever way you look at it. And, as I mentioned, it is something they need to consider, because if 'that's the way it was designed' is the only rationale a person can offer then it only reinforces my viewpoint of the short-sightedness of it all.
-
Yes, it seems WG have got really cheap on the try your luck rewards. I got two type 5 camo's in one of the containers, just two. It's not even funny any more.
-
@CrysantosTo risk sounding like an age old cliche' - I know you're not miracle workers and can't satisfy every need, but to be brutally honest I'm really disappointed with the fact these codes are not working for me. I've tried entering them a number of times since yesterday and this morning and still no joy at all. If they were only meant to work during the stream then it doubles my disappointment. I watched the first stream (and numerous others before) and last night I had been watching Mr. Gibbins stream for a long while waiting for the WG stream to hear a little news and take part in the hype. Unfortunately for me a little bit of real life stuff intervened that meant I had to miss the stream, only getting home after 9pm. I had hoped I'd be able to still pick up the recording and news and any code missed (#notjustinitforthecodes) - only to discover none of them work despite all best efforts to take part. Now as a loyal fan and supporter of the game (and lately - all sorts of streamers), why do I now get punished in this way for missing out on a single occasion? I don't expect a fix now for a single person, but perhaps you folks can consider this for future events. It seems a little short-sighted of the event organisers. If they're meant to work now still then I retract the above statement and apologise, but if not please consider the sentiments stated above.

Stream Rewards in 0.8.6 – the Full Guide
Shaka_D replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Epic drops are no doubt incredibly rare, perhaps just a bit of bait, especially if its anything like the current destroyer container drop rate for the bonus missions, lol. These seem to be non-existent for most.
