Let me see, with the PR comes stress, a missed christmas trying to pointlessly grind, manipulative behaviour from WG, lies, money grabbing, deceipt and an ugliness that we can all do without. So instead of this I've purchased a cineworld unlimited card for a little less than the PR which means I can go watch as many movies as I like for free, when I like, as many times as I like for 12 months.....so i'm starting with Star Wars at midnight tomorrow (This experience is more valuable to me in itself when compared to the PR), followed by Jumanji, etc etc etc... In a nutshell, %$&* the Puerto Rico...WG made the choice really easy with their greed and selfishness...They've created a truly massive let down for many of their players, shame on them. Try tell them that though, they're beyond reasoning so my advice is go and deliberately spend money elsewhere and advertise it here in protest. I'm sick of their corporate BS treating people like sheep and cattle. Everything they do, and I mean everything, serves to benefit them somehow....nothing is for free. Great idea taken by people (WG) with questionable motives and utterly ruined in a heartbeat, then denial by them as to it's failure and repeatedly post the same dockyard article on the website as if all the complaints just simply don't exist...Of course they've screwed up big time. At least It helped me decide very very quickly I won't be doing the grind because they made it almost impossible to comprehend - so I won't Be playing much over Christmas. You have to shake your head in utter wonder that they could take what was meant to be a festive time of the year in a game and smash it and trash it to the point no-one, bar the few insanely ignorant people, who will want to complete it. And to think they planned this fiasco...lol, the joke is on them.

And it is manipulation and it is very dangerous as you say, especially give the pegi rating of 7. Their time will come, something will happen and the spotlight will shine on them. Problem is, who gets blamed and which authority has jurisdiction? It's in a very grey area that WG are operating, a poory regulated market and instead of adopting an approach toward corporate social responsibility, they're willingly / knowingly exploiting people........anyone who thinks WG has any care for them , or anything we say really matters, is totally delusional. It's a question of values...how much value people assign to different things and how much they're willing to spend. Your comparison above is trying to put relatively disimilar things on a level playing field, which they are not.

It's all rather subjective though isn't it, one mans precious material is steel, while anothers is coal, while anothers is premium time...etc etc etc....events is a massive let down, not completely. but most of it.

The sad reality is that Save the Children is a very worthy cause, but WG are not a worthy company to host it....they're greedy, false, unscrupulous and despite what many say, quite uncharitable themselves. So I won't be supporting them through this at all...there's something false about this.....They make enough money from us to donate the $35 000 to the cause themselves..they know it, but all they want to donate is their time? Am I reading that right, they're not giving anything of their own and we are expected to donate through them for a reward that's tainted with extortion? How about for every dollar we donate, they donate 10? Sound fair? I tell you what, my reward to them for doing that will be my continued and frequently paying services as a customer. I'm very disappointed in WG in this, very.

Basically, the prerequisites to buying the PR is you have to be a WG bootlicker, relatively braindead, ignorant, completely devoid of any form of rational thinking, utterly desperate and have zero self-control...then you have to have a bit of money to buy those dubloons. You get, for one small instant, to show off a ship hardly anyone else has. Then the endorphines wear off and if you have any sense of whats real, you spend a long while wondering whether it was worth it because you're not going to spend too many times playing it as your ship collection grows.....and then one day WG turn off the servers and it all disappears......... ...does that sound fair?

Of course they'll never admit it....where in the world is the majority ever right?...it's always the absolute minority who are the ones living in lala land thinking the world revolves around them. WG have basically helped bury what little respect many players had of them....when your customer is your means of income, how does insulting those same customers help? Perhaps they should stop scraping the bottom of the barrel for employees and actually hire a few with better scruples....sherbert, anyone off the street will do. Many things are possible Blix ol chap, but your estimations must not be confused as being what everyone can achieve on average, even with all the paraphenalia adorned on their ships. This is false. I seldom got that much with every free xp signal (and camo) mounted and with premium time and I'm not that bad a player. It would not be accurate at all for you to say 30k free xp is the norm when in reality its most likely the average player will net far below this on average. That's a fallacy of false precision or rather Dicto Simpliciter.

The reality is only a tiny tiny percentage of people will ever get a rare drop......so my advice to visitors to streams is don't pay any attention to the overzealous advertising here that makes it sounds like it's a definite reward at some point.......

I eventually gave up trying to play after the fiasco with the server. Can't blame the poor techies working on it, such is life, but I think with the whole launch of the update and the excitement is was meant to bring instead all turning so sour at the realisation of how crappy the grind was , followed by the stream turning into a hatefest, topped off with the server going down was just one step too far for me in the end. Not sure I feel all that festive at all..and now seeing how poor the drop rates appear to be on gift crates it's all a little sad that WG as so intent on self-destruction. If only they had their finger on the playerbases' proberbial pulse.

No, won't be grinding this. It's ludicrous and not founded in reality. It's a real pity there is no 'player council' or 'clan council' representing groups of players. If clans acted multilaterally by influencing their members to abstain from participating in certain 'activities' and 'events' it might force WG to listen. Eve Online had a similar set up and it worked wonders in getting the devs to listen to their playerbase. Currently the playerbase wastes their true authority and power to affect change by remaining so fragmented and arguing about stupid little things. One of the reasons WG (as once discovered apparently back in my WOT days) had 'sock puppets' infiltrate forums pretending to be players was to silence critics and sew misinformation and prevent consensus. Conspiracy theory much? Not really, maybe sometimes the truth is really that simple.

WG are having a laugh. Their idea this year, while maybe noble in ambition, has turned rotten given their overzealous requirements.

I said a long time ago that WG have seriously overestimated the valued of camo and signals......they're consumables lost in moments when the rng throws you in a bad team and you can't really capitalise on the benefits, but someone at WG has their head up their rectum and thinks we're stupid - it's a false economy they're trying to prop up. Many people also have shed loads of the stuff (like me) so the value of a crate with 4 silly little signals or hideously ugly frosty fir tree camo's is less that a pile of mushy dog turd on my neighbours lawn.

Yeh, drops rates appear frighteningly low this year......It's a one-way festive season I think...WG have created something that's turned out to be quite disappointing. On the plus side, while they continue denying the failure of it all and wondering why so many of us are wrong, we have more time to spend with family.
