Another justification, you just added to the pool of them. You supported a seemingly deceptive strategy by WG, it impacts other players in the future when WG continue to use this as a viable strategy to make money. I bet any reason is good enough that you made the right choice, as long as you're happy, right? Doesn't really matter though does it, but to many players here the PR will represent as a badge of dishonour to anyone who purchased her and as such supported WG's decision. It's how I see them anyhow and couldn't care less how this is viewed.

A free player using free dubloons to purchase the PR or someone that was able to miraculously get the PR through grinding without spending anything are the only people who deserve no criticism toward obtaining the ship...the rest in my opinion are trollworthy and the very reason WG keeps screwing the playerbase over and over. There is simply no excuse good enough, those that bought her supported a bad cause through their own lack of self control and everyone suffers in the end, well done! Yes, I feel strongly about this, it was deceptive of WG and these people have shown WG deception pays off and is a viable future strategy.

Are you in some way insinuating you're a victim of verbal abuse because people have rejected your apparently unauthoratitive views on a ship and the justifications you give for supporting WG in their highly dubious decision to deceive players and their own community contributers?

Everyone that drops cash on her has done exactly what WG wanted you to do and why they designed this. They dont care for the criticism about what they've done, only that you do as they expect you too.....providing enough incentive for them to do it again and again. Noone that drops cash on her can ever complain about something like this again, ever, especially given all the warnings about it knowingly exploiting peoples weaknesses. That's a bad thing by the way, justify it whatever way you wish - extra cash or dubloons lying around, same price as a pack of smokes, case of beer, it's my entertainment pocket money, i've worked since i was 18, it's my money...they're all pretty basic justifications. Bottom line is, you've decided you want the ship....now you're hunting for reasons to justify this decision. My advice is, go for it. Who really cares anyways...it's not impacting me personally, haha.

No, you are wrong. You only need WG to tell us one thing (like they did in testing, etc) which builds up expectations, and then for WG to change their minds with no prior notice or reasonabe period of consultation. The poop storm that followed, even with the CC's getting really angry, is enough evidence that WG failed horribly in this regard...they lied / deceived. This was not a mistake, it was a deliberate decision by them to alter requirements for the PR. You cannot deny what is proverbially right in front of you, the evidence is very clear - and not just in the EU.

Sure, it's a premium ship and will make more, but in coop and for those incredibly low numbers you show there? I can make more than that in a minute in randoms and still play with highly unpredictable opponents (and braindead team mates) - who wouldn't want to do that?

CC's explained it quite well - the expectation was created by WG of a dobale event, and then they changed it to something far worse and then tried to cover it all up with cheap meaningless consolation prizes and words. Bottom line, WG lied to / deceived people. This I think is the main issue, the blatant grab and deception.

Bash bots and make coin in co-op mode? Surely you jest? Bots basically suicide in coop, bash is an understatement, but making coin in coop, I think not - unless you literally mean 1 coin, then its true.

At least you admit the PR event was bad, but the sad part of your story is how you willingly fell for it lock stock and barrell and the saddest part of this is that this is why WG keep doing it. As I mentioned in a previous post, no matter how we justify why we did it, for you it was comparative to a pack of smokes, but I bet you bought smokes too didn't you? You also justified it by saying you worked since you were 18....it just goes on and on, they're all justifications, looking for a reason to buy something we want, no matter how bad the deal....and it simply was not a good deal. It was an exploit by WG. And you've been exploited, it's only that you're telling yourself you've not. We've all been there and done that and still do. Peoples interests change and WG will no doubt want to cash in on everything they can until our interests lead us away from WoWS (or they chase us away), even if it means employing the dirtiest tactics they can. Anyways, they have your money now and they're happy and you have a meh (apparently) ship. I don't have the ship, but we're all guilty one way or the other, unless we've truly stayed f2p. Thanks man. Yeh, I know the feeling with papa papa, zulu hotel and zulu signals. I've got nearly 1500 of each...WG give so many of them away it almost makes a crate containing them utterly worthless. Wish we could exchange these things for other resources.

Did a silly silly thing - against all better judgement, bought myself 8 big (middle) crates as a birthday gift to my special self, cause I am that special. The one ship I craved out of the lot was the Benham because I couldn't do the grind last time. Out of 6 of those crates I got flags, signals, 1000 dubs. Two of the crates gave me the Viritas Unitasy thingy, and the BENHAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM - what luck. I'm still missing quite a few other premiums, so was blown away by this.

I just played my way to the gorizio although I never cared once about getting the ship. It just happened. There was no intent to grind it and for this part I am grateful, in that it serves as a sort fo consolation prize to distract from the screw up that is/was the PR trap. The rest I couldn't give a rats bum about.

I don't think you're putting it into perspective, I think you're stating an obvious scenario and no-one is questioning the fact that as a business they need to make money - what is in question is 'how' they do so and the obvious social traps and exploits they employ to achieve this. There are a lot of ways they could 'ethically' make money, but their attempts seem to focus on exploiting known human weaknesses and vulnerabilities, and in terms of the stated age rating for the game their methods are definitely NOT beneficial in terms of wellbeing and health. This makes WG's actions dubious and dirty. When the goal is to make money and a regulative grey area exists, it falls upon people / businesses / corporations, etc to use ethics and common decency to ensure that they 'self-regulate' their methods and actions so as to ensure an equitable outcome for all, what is reasonably fair...but WG have proven the opposite time and again. They simply have no care for our wellbeing. It's cut-throat and all most of us do is try justify our stupidity by falling for it all the time. You only have to see the excuses we use on the forums on why we spend money...'I had spare dubloons lying around so I bought this and that', 'I'm a collector', etc etc. Of course what we choose to do is no-one elses concern and paying a bit here and there for entertainment is fine, but the more we support their methods, the more they do it and they've shown they will be there to take every last penny they can from us. A real conumdrum.

'Plays poorly' is a pathetic report we all pretty much know does nothing, hence the reason to use 'mibehaviour in chat' no matter what the offense because we all know that one potentially works with a nice little chatban if numerous enough, and in this sense we get satisfaction. Sad but true, unfair yes.

Whether it is strong or weak is besides the point, it's the fact you are contemplating losing out...this is what WG tried to do all along knowing most will get to a certain point and worry they'll lose out and therefore contemplate buying her, irrespective. The strong vs weak argument comes after the fact. The very fact you ask this question is because you don't want to let a potentially good ship slip away from you, but if your dubloons are truly free to play and you've not spent a dime buying dubloons for this, then I guess you're ok and WG lose.

Someone mentioned the sunk cost fallacy was one of WG's intentions behind the whole PR affair. Sounds like you're contemplating supporting exactly that by asking this question. You're worried about losing out. I guess their tactic worked and because of this they'll keep doing the same thing over and over. They win, we lose, you satisfy a need as they predicted you would. A very sad day indeed when we willingly let ourselves be exploited in this way, and it is exploitation, no matter how you try to justify it to yourself or what you say after this.

Lost a few games here and there until I found the ship I felt more comfortable in, the Atago. This thing took on bismarcks, tirpitz's, cv's, cruisers and dd's - it's a freakin Swiss Army knife. Still lost a few here and there, but it was me being stupid or the opponent being very clever and given there are not too many very clever players in this game, it was fairly easy to rank out.
