Any news on when we can expect the Benham?

Are they nerfing it directly or as part of wider changes? - I'm a little out of the loop in terms of development changes.
  3. Must admit I got a little excited thinking WG had done the right thing and rewarded everyone with the PR. Then I remember it's WG we're talking about and the only PR they specialise in is the bad variety. I agree with you, it's irritating and misleading.

Any news on when we can expect the Benham?

Got it in a xmas container and it's become my favourite DD, although quite weak against rockets from even lower tier cv's, but it's a lovely lovely little ship.

Pan Asian additions - any good?

Must admit I'm not even remotely interested in these ships, too much of the same. I suppose there will a lot who do like the shiny chinese stuff though.
  6. Yes, why did I not think of this?

The system likely exists for a variety of reasons: Some people are obsessed with chasing meaningless points like this, hoarders? Some people may see it as another way to measure their worth, to themselves and others, bragging rights The possible real reason is WG probably wanted to reduce the number of support tickets they were receiving for relatively minor indiscretions, so created a (meaningless) punitive system which alleviated this pressure while also giving (imaginery) power to the players to punish offenders and therefore satisy their need for justice. I live from chat ban to chat ban, some deserved because if I'm going to be banned for nothing, sometimes I may as well tell someone what I think of them or their playstyle...not right, but i'm being punished for nothing a lot of the time so to hell with it. I'm working on my attitude as we speak.
  8. I have a better idea. How about the map selectively shrinks for some classes, i.e. only for BB players. So for DD's and cruisers who are usually in the frontline taking all the damage, the map would only shrink for BB's - We don't need to see whats going on on their map, for us it would be normal, but BB's would be increasingly squeezed together and forced to tank damage instead of sitting at windowlicker range at the back firing with maximum dispersion while the rest of their team dies.

The Beginning is a Very Delicate Time

Have you ever tasted something, decided you didn't like the taste and never had any again? Shall we bring it closer to home? Have you ever started a game, decided you didn't like it after trying it and never played it again? Well, imagine starting a new game, finding it rather unforgiving and too hard to achieve anything, finding you die before you have a chance to figure anything out...you think someone wants to keep playing after this? You still find it hard to understand why people might leave? It's a rather simple concept and requires no genius to figure out.

The Beginning is a Very Delicate Time

Ever heard of the well-known cliche 'first impressions count'? The flip side as you paint it is highly prejudicial, assumptive, and based on nonsense you have no idea actually exists. You also derail the OP's concerns by innappropriately prejudicing his friends as fat wheezy boys, snowlflakes. Players new to the game can be put off quite easily, no matter what anyone says. Its how they feel when they play and if constantly getting killed by things they can't control or the initial difficulty level is too high then they certainly have every reason not to stay. They no doubt want enjoyment. Lastly, based on the standard of your comments, I have my doubts you're in any position to quote SAS standards to anyone which then leads me to ask: How would you fair in your first bit of cold water?

The Beginning is a Very Delicate Time

My apologies to the OP too. On topic: The OP has a valid point, even when grinding through lower tiers it was hard to counter experienced players in their cv's and made the grind more uncomfortable, so I can only imagine a new player coming up against this type of opponent. It's a difficult one to deal with because you don't want to stop experienced players from enjoying all apsects of the game (lower tiers) but how would you encourage new players to stay through the punishment? Maybe not so bad with one cv per team but doesn't the mm more easily allow for more at lower tiers too?

The Beginning is a Very Delicate Time

I had read your second post: 'lets see with this discussion goes' - lol. And your reference to white knighting is trying to imply tI'm defending the OP, as opposed to me criticising you for missing the point or deliberately trying to distract? You need to learn to do your job better, lol.

The Beginning is a Very Delicate Time

You select one insignificant phrase from his post and ignore the meaningful part of it? I think youre trying to distract readers from what the OP was saying. You've clearly missed his point or you're deliberately trying to mislead? Which one is it?

A small psychological insight for you WG

You use phrases like: Just by playing / you receive something extra for doing nothing more then you normaly play the game /even get something by loggin in each day: Do you even realise what you're admitting here and how these statements contradict the very idea of 'free'? You obviously don't. In your way of thinking the 3 daily reward crates should be abolished too - what nonsense, I never said any such thing. They're nice to have, but unlike you I don't see them as a bonus... See this content for what it is, it's a tailored instrument implemented by WG to maintain interest in their game. Simple as that. They're adding elements to the game to entice people to log in everyday. As for the random bundles in the armory, this is cheap monetisation and gambling, nothing more. You cannot argue they are the same. Entitlement, entitled, etc. - so people complaining are entitled because you say so? You use the word by applying it disproportionately. This game is also played by young children too. This BS is exposing them to the concept of gambling and the temptations and frustrations associated with it at an age they cannot comprehend these things. WG is disgraceful in the way they prey on peoples vulnerabilities, they take monetisation to immoral and unethical levels. I hope every one of them proverbially pays for this one day. They foster false hope when the odds are so very low and refuse to publish the odds, which they should. There is some entitlement, by some, but only some. Most are genuine concerns about the frustration WG causes. I've said all I have to say, if you don't want to be educated then no-one will be able to educate you about that which I am referring.

A small psychological insight for you WG

As I edited my thread after you responded, you're generalising and not only this, but you're dismissing the potentially viable feelings of disappointment and frustration as being 'overly negative', which assumes it's unwarranted and excessive, which I'm sure many here will disagree with, me included. So yes, there may be numerous negative posts, but they do highlight a very real problem with the game and what WG are doing...and if WG are remotely intelligent and wise, and even half decent, they'll not just read the posts but actually listen to what people are saying. The ones here in the forum are the vocal ones, the ones who care about making it better for all. Yes, there are whiners and entitled folk here and there, but those posts are fairly easy to see. Complaints help make the game better, offering real feedback to WG, apart from those licking WG's boots who can't separate their fanboyism and hero-worship from reality.

A small psychological insight for you WG

When will you stop sprouting nonsense about it being free? It's not always about entitlement, it's part of a system which people are starting to realise (except you and a few others it seems) is flawed and inequitable, and highly exploitative. From the most basic point of view, their random BS gets peoples hopes up and then slams them down. Do you like chasing objectives, playing the game and then being disappointed constantly? How many of the ships do you have? What WG offers is this: you play the game, have fun, support us, and maybe, just maybe if you're lucky we'll reciprocate all your effort and loyalty by remotely offering a chance to get something (and sadly it's most often a signal flag or two)

British Cruisers Part 1 Random bundles

I don't disagree with those things, never said so at all, I was using those phrases as examples for another purpose with reference to the concept of time spent playing. I agreed with most of what JVD said, just not the constant references people make to 'free' stuff which they advocate we should be grateful for when it's not free at all, it's give and take, we give time by playing and having fun, they maintain our interest by adding rewards for achievements, directives reached, time played...it's never free....under all of this is business, with no freebies. But sadly , and without prejudice, I think this relatively simple concept is hard for some to comprehend because they keep repeating the same mistake by using the phrase so blindly while still trying to persuade others its all free. Time is relative and the value given to it is subjective, but irrespective of how people may see it, i.e. its my time, i'm enjoying myself, etc etc etc, it's still has the same value to WG, you are giving them your time by playing which you may value less (as entertainment compared to work) but which WG most likely value far far more, and maybe they bank on us not realising this and so maintain we get free stuff. I think some of those that see it as free stuff often make themselves subordinate to WG in this way, a sense of trying to please them and thank them for free handouts, but we are not. You want me to play, and pay, then make it worth my while to stay. We can all have fun in the process.

British Cruisers Part 1 Random bundles

I agree with you here JVD, but they're not free, time is a commodity that so many see as free because 'we're playing a game', 'having fun', etc and I guess it can be seen as relative to whoever is doing it for whatever reason, but the reality is it's not free, time is universally accepted as a valuable thing to trade..it's ours to give, but WG benefit from every minute you spend playing their game. Their methods and mechanisms generate money for them, the trick they play is making us believe we're getting these things for free, but that's because we're only assigning monetary (cash) value to these 'free things', and money is not the only currency.

British Cruisers Part 1 Random bundles

So you came back, admittedly threw whole lot of cash at WG toward something you knew was a gamble with very poor odds (because we all realise how low it is, so low WG wont publish it), and are now giving WG the middle finger saying your wallet is closed? I think you mean 'till next time' don't you? The only way we ever achieve anything is if we mean what we say when we say 'wallet closed', but most never do and WG know this. They don't care how upset we get, it's a known thing for customers to complain while dishing out their money....WG just wants the cash, they care little for the complaints or our welfare..They know the threats of 'not spending any more money' will always fall flat when the next enticing thing comes along.

    Royal Navy Directive Stage 2

I've highlighted the problem with your post....you want instant gratification and therefore anyone or anything preventing you from getting it is wrong? My advice, wait another day and use the time to reflect......its not the end of the world

Best time for playing certain tiers...

I agree, especially when it come to tier X these days. To maintain sanity you should never play tier X in randoms. I'm seeing all sorts of stupid, more than before. When people think that playing the game is a trade off between fun and using your brain instead of seeing both possible simultaneously, then you know the human race is lost.
