Was a little disappointed they were so lazy as to simply pick three Santa cards at random after some people (not me) were really creative in their submissions. Makes you wonder why anyone tries at all when we think that those on the choosing end are going to select carefully and with respect toward peoples creativity (again, not me), whereas in reality it's a 'just choose any three folks, they'll never know'. I feel sorry for the deserving few who made real effort. And then they were late, when even I waited in patience all day on the 25th to see who the lucky winners were, only to hear the rushed, pitiful excuse the next day. Bad management and a total lack of respect. I can appreciate the humans working for WG also need time off over the festivities, but don't say you'll publish on the 25th and then don't. That's poor form, poor form indeed.

I wouldn't even know what silver is like, it's like so 'yesterday' man ....I hang out in gold these days and never rank out so I stay in gold. Easier to farm steel and gold that way with the limited time I have.

The game has changed, yes, and it’s obvious not all changes have been greeted as welcome by many players. But, as people , we are incredibly resistant to change, we never tend to blame ourselves for much, and we tend to focus on the negative a lot. What I feel is that the positive aspects of the game still out-way the negative for me, so I keep playing, and not all changes have been bad. If people feel they are unhappy with the game in a general sense, then they should leave it or perhaps learn to adapt and change their mindset. This doesn’t mean what WG do is always right, but the beauty of choice is we get to choose to stay or go. Naturally, there will be reluctance because of time spent and perhaps money invested in the game, but anyone seeing this game as an investment is foolish imho. It should always be seen as transient and money spent as nothing more than temporary entertainment value. Nothing lasts forever, stop pretending it does?

What gets me is the pure selfishness of it. I get that sometimes stuff happens, but so many afkers lately is unreal (my personal experience that is). The thing is, to have spent 15 minutes fighting for a star the previous game, only to go into the next game where one of your strongest ships is afk and you lsoe your star in 5 minutes is frustrating as hell.

Must agree, I've had a number of ranked games recently where players were afk. In one evening to have seen a fair number of afkers in one session appeared a little more than coincidental.

I'm a lover of subs, this makes me the guy on the street getting a lot of coal, which in itself is not a bad thing ;) Good luck folks. I might send a couple of things on.

Correction, never waste money on WG games unless you're ok with it. Buying crates is a gamble, if you lose you cannot cry about it. Act responsibly and take the hit from the choices you make that don't turn out the way you want. People are only idiots if they spend money on a game mechanic they know is a gamble and then complain about it, unless proven to be rigged of course.

We need to start something similar to the #metoo movement, with sincere respect of course to the actual movement and no disrespect intended.

It doesn't help that he had none of these low tier ships already. I am lucky enough to own most from over the years so when ships drop they're from the small and more rare pool I don't have. Got the gremy and odin today, and was very pleased.

In all honesty, I purchased 20 + 8 megacrates. I will purchase no more than this because this is what I had set for myself and am sticking to it....I had a budget....and that's my spoil done for my 50th and Xmas. That said, including a mix of a few mega and big crates from certificates, I added around 10 ships to my arsenal along with loads of dubloons, etc...among the ships I am very happy to have added the Odin and Gremy to my port....I am a guy completely satisfied and now I no longer feel like I'm chasing a ghost, haha. My bet is it’s about money, not manpower.

Seven games played in ranked gold tonight, one win. Because in my teams I had people with over 17000 games and only a 43% win rate, another with 600 games and a 40% win rate. It got worse than this. We all want to play for fun, but when someone decides he'd rather play ranked than do what he is actually good at (licking windows), we're in for a tough time. I think they're incredibly selfish. Sick and tired of playing for 15 minutes to win a star and then in 2 minutes its lost in the very next game because the mm graces me with knuckledragging neanderthals who should be neutered and kept away from a computer. I'd rather have good games and lose than have a star lost without being able to do anything to prevent it. No time to even carry, just boom, two dead in a minute, game lost. Dont even get to fight to keep a star in gold so what's the point of trying?

Too long for a technical issue. It’s rather sad to be honest. What feels more realistic to me is they’re cashing in on past events and now Xmas boxes, and maybe release coupons etc later on to spur on another mass buying of doubloons. Creating hype about it leading to anxious buying later on.

Was wondering how many of you are modellers. As a kid I use to build models, all WW2, vehicles, soldiers, and aircraft. Always 1:72 scale. Use to battle with them in our garden with friends and create huge theatres in our sandy garden in the Namib Desert. Somehow life slipped by and on the weekend I was walking through an xmas market in Frome, near Bath, and found this small model shop tucked away in an alleyway full of all sorts of models, vehicles, ships, soldiers, etc. Was called Frome Model Centre. Reinvigorated something in me and I think I'll be starting up once more, perhaps a ship this time. Was so much there adorning the shelves I was like a kid again and my Mrs just laughed.
