Why would you possibly want to show off? Does what people think of you really matter? Respect is earned not only by the way you play but by the way you act. Also, putting a nice 'rank 1' in front of your name will paint you as a big fat target. Do you really want this? If I saw a good player I'd do all in my ability to take him out quickly to give my team a better chance. So ultimately, bad idea since I;ve never really been one to worry about bragging rights, but some people seem to need some sort of acknowledgement from others.

WG please be more generous to the players, you are loosing them!

Happened to me on Wot and I haven't looked back since. Problem is it's now started to feel that way with WoWS. The constant grind of XP and credits, terrible mismatched matchmaking, crappy premium shop bundle deals, etc. I decided enough was enough after going into a game where we had 3 tier 8 BB's versus the enemy's 3 Iowas at tier 9. One Iowa fired at me from maximum range and left me with just over 1000 hp from full health. I quit back to port and shut down the game. I'll pop back when failgaming get their act together and start giving a crap about the 'fun' and 'fair' factor a little more. Until then they can sit on a pole and rotate some more. See ya! -
Stopped playing ranked battles at rank 15. I play for the rewards, something tangible as I don't care about bragging rights since it means little in the grand scheme of things. From rank 15 onwards it gets a little more difficult to maintain that win streak and there are certain levels where there are no rewards, i.e. longer periods between rewards so this makes it a little wortheless for me, especially when you need to win more battles per level to progress to another level that offers no reward.

Can't say I disagree with you here at all. I think to a large degree I'm expecting more from them relatively quickly from having come across from Wot. I got accustomed to the choice we once had there before they starting ramming bundles in as the order fo the day. In a sense I'm a veteran of a WG title with an already cynical view carried across into a new WG title. My 'honeymoon phase' with wargaming was over years ago and I've come to WoWS with a large amount of impatience, which in many regards is not entirely unreasonable when considering they've had a lot of time to think some things through.

Can't say I see the fuss either, sounds daft. Have you played BS Pacific? If so, what did you think of it? -
I also have an invite code if anyone wants it, first to send me a pm can have it.

Simple concept yes, but solidarity of the kind we need here to make it work will never happen in the EU. Different forums for different languages, too many weak-minded plebians and too many 'I need this now I can't wait' types. I should know about the latter type, I was one of them. I'll only consider vessel only sales, when I see bundles I'm not even tempted, no matter how small. To be perfectly honest, the game has barely officially launched and I'm already tempted to pack it in, WG have left a sour taste in my mouth now that I know what we can expect from then from now to forever more. I was really hoping their attitude would change when coming across from Wot, what a fool I am.

It's another bloody bundle offer. Surely you understand this? I didn't want it when sold alone, nor do I want it as a bundle, but this is all besides the damn point. They've taken it off as a single item and replaced it as a bundle...why not just leave both on?? Seriously, folks like you need to see past your nose on matters like this. It's about bloody options being removed and players herded one way or the other toward an outcome that strongly favours WG. Yes...we all bloody well know they need to make money, but they're been unreservedly anti-consumer in their approach by not offering the EU options like they have / do for others. Why does the EU get the 'bundle' shoved in their faces time and time again? If aimed at new players, I can understand this, but what of existing players? No options for them? It's not about the ship, but the principals to which WG aspires.
-
What? Some of you actually 'liked' WoWP? Are you still playing it or have you moved to WoWS completely?
-
Yes, they are very much in the wrong. Full bloody stop. Who're you trying to impress?
-
Granted...but what of existing players? Can't they work something out for both types of client? Seems heavily shortsighted or grossly negligent on their part. Cater for new players, totally disregard existing ones.
-
Game over for me too. WG seem to really take our feedback to heart...oh, wait!

I wish I could share your optimism, but if this is the same WG you refer to from WoT then I sincerely think your faith will be for nought. They've had years to rectify their communication shortfalls, but only seem to react to poop storms at times and then disappear again. There is a division between their own HQ and their community teams so wide I believe that it sometimes appears (to us) that there isn't a dual channel of communication at all, only one-way from HQ to the Community team. As a player I hardly ever feel 'informed' by WG. As a player I hardly ever feel any feedback ever makes it to the dev team. Why is this? Because we're never told anything about the processes, how seriously they may be regarding feedback from players and where the hell they get their information from in the first place. It's disjointed and broken. Will it ever be fixed? Not sure, perhaps the whole lot need to be fired and a new bunch of VERY customer orientated people brought it to repair the fractures caused by years of excuses and absences and their seeming odd attitude toward the players. In WoT they went as far as appointing community contributors from the forums to do what exactly? Be the unofficial WG reps for us there? How lazy is that?

I have to agree, perhaps paying for a bundled deal once off is ok, like I did for the Tirpitz, but to pay out for large bundles each time a premium ship is added to the store is not something that suits me and is too expensive to maintain in the long run. Lots of smaller payments are more comfortable and more acceptable, i.e. for single ship deals with no added extras. I'd like to collect premium ships like I 've started because I find them fun to play but I won't continue to buy them in bundles, not ever again because this basically means I'm going to pay double over the long term for premium time and dubloons which I do not need. Therefore....instead of WG gaining me as a paying customer, they've lost me because they're being greedy. When I start feeling ripped off I simply stop paying and become disillusioned. This is what's happened now and even though I really wanted the Warspite, I now feel much better for not buying it and it has given me the discipline to not fall for the same sort of extortion again. They could have had something from me, but now they get nothing. If more people had the self discipline to do this WG may take notice and improve things for us, but as long as we have players finding some excuse to pay for some overpriced deal because 'they're afraid to lose it' means WG will continue to use this tool to reap massive amounts of money from players.

If you believe that then you'll believe anything. You've clearly not been around long enough to appreciate true WG politics

Wows unplayable with windows 10 64 bit...Urgent...Please help...
Shaka_D replied to HipHopHippopotamus's topic in General Discussion
Have you run a chkdsk /r from the cmd prompt to check for bad sectors on your hdd and attempt repairs on them? May have to reboot the pc to have the process run and can sometimes take a little while. I use windows 10 on a 64bit system with an nividia gerforce 660ti and have had no issues playing wows apart from once when the graphics drivers slipped up. Other than this all my games in wows have run fine. -
Ranked battles MM is out. I've had to stop playing them after a run of games where teh enemy team had three to four BB's but half of which were of a higher tier than those on my team. Tier spread differences are too great sometimes between the teams. The mm for ranked definitely needs refinement but on the whole I really like the idea of a quick 7v7 battle with rewards like they have it.
-
2 factors should be considered in the MM: The ships AND the player. The ships are considered when the mm sets up the match, the player is ignored, therefore the mm caters for half of the equation. We don't need leagues, we don't need ladders, we simply need team balancing: more or less the same balance of noobs / good players / pro's on each team. Divisions will screw this idea up slightly but WG are the experts right? Same as in Wot, WG will do nothing here either. Sometimes too random is a bad bad thing. The question would be, how would we distinguish between a noob, good player and pro?

Positive Negative Feedback (or, "Everything Wrong With World of Warships")
Shaka_D replied to FreeSlave's topic in General Discussion
It is a good question though: Have our esteemed developers played the game as free players from tier 1 to truly test it out? Can they truly put themselves in the position of a player who is starting the game from day 1? How do WG gather feedback from us? From the forums? From the supertesters only? How exactly does it work then because I've seen a lot of negative energy in posts on the forums and yet hardly any have been asnswered in a reasonable manner by Wargaming. What of the rationale behind the bundles? What of what we can expect long term from the game besides new nations? Surely they should have some idea shouldnt they? Quite honestly speaking, their news releases on teh home page of their site do very little than offer short term info and perhaps other non-developmental ideas wrt the game. The only sense I've ever got from WG is the feeling that the playerbase is largely ignored, our complaints are whines, we're ingrates wanting more for less, we want instant gratification, and we're never generally happy. Surely negative feedback says something to WG? The disconnection between developer and player is why, I believe, when you visit most of their forums the majority of posts nowadays are negative in some way. Sure it's hard to sift through the real moronic posts to find the gems but WG are intelligent people not so? -
Unbundled deals? I've just watched the Warspite slip away from me. Really wanted it because its an RN vessel, missed it the first time round, and now it appears in a bundle with gold and premium time I need no more of and paying £37 for a tier 6 vessel is overkill for me and not worth it. I was sorely disappointed and still am.

Based on what stats are they harder to kill? My cleveland gets owned pretty easily in a few salvo's from other like tiered ships so perhaps of lot of these arguments may be based on an unlucky roll of the rng dice? When idiots start witch hunting ships without a in-depth knowledge of them the hunt becomes one where mob mentality rules and common sense goes out the window. She's a good ship to play, fun even, but I've been killed too many times in my cleveland from lesser ships who've fired on me, and done extorionate damage. Debates like this can never truly be objective or sincere because too much emotion bleeds from these posts from players with a natural bias one way or the other. Just because someone says it's OP means jack-all. Just because someone says it isn't doesn't mean so either. Time will tell and perhaps people should have a little maturity about it instead of acting on 'i was killed by one therefore it's OP'. Some folks need to grow a little pubic hair here before commiting to posting more of these braindead OP threads.
-
So let's summarise this thread then: 1: All players who prefer Jap ships or who were recently owned by a better player in their cleveland say the cleveland is OP. 2: All players who are a little more objective and look at a ship in terms of strengths and weaknesses say the cleveland is fine as it is. Did I get this right? Oh, and don't the jap equivalent ships have torps?

Wargaming have been like this for a long long time. You get the feeling they possibly only listen to their supertesters and no-one else. In all my years of playing WG titles I've extremely seldom seen them acknowledge feedback or at least update the players on the goings on other than their patch notes and hollywwod style news article. They're notoriously bad at PR and no amount of complaining has ever helped. They simply ignore the complaint posts most of the time. When things go tits up they're never around. Despite all the complaining about the overpriced bundled deals, I saw Ectar on the forums today and there was not a peep from him. It's as if they simply disappear when things hot up a little. A real company in touch with it's clients would be right in there with the hot stuff, debating, chatting, and very much taking an interest in their client's concerns, but it's as if the community team are nothing more than a bs propoganda front for WG HQ with zero authority on anything. I would love the game to improve, and see their bs bundle rip-offs give way to more inclusive pricing, but there is nought hope of that ever happening. The misery players are experiencing across ALL the servers Is so blatant that even a blind man could see it, and its been like this for years, yet they somehow regard us as the whiners or ingrates always wanting stuff for free. It must be great in their world where the masses are always wrong and the minorty (them) are always right..sounds an aweful lot like a russian type approach at business or anything for that matter. Must be in their DNA. A little extreme, but communism may apparently be gone from goverment in those regions (Belarus / russia same freakin mentality if you ask me) but it's never truly gone from their hearts. -
Who says we have to have cheaper ships? But why does the RU get the ships with AND without the extra goods attached? Why are they able to buy it as the ship alone and we're not? This is the question and the main reason for complaints. If they cost marginally more for the single item here, so be it, but continuously offered as inflated bundles only here in the EU? And hence thE reason why the argument is unreasonable in terms of limiting numbers unless, as mentioned, they mean to only limit it here in the EU to capitalise of our weakness in giving in to higher priced bundles.
-
The fact I don't like it has nothing to do with it at all, and no it's not a reasonable excuse because it doesn't make sense, you do not try to limit numbers of a ship by selling it cheaply to your largest playerbase (i.e RU), unless of course they're only trying to limit it for the EU since the server groups are separate. It would only make sense in the latter case, but not the former, and beggars the question of why limit it here but not in the RU?
