I wouldn't be so quick to look forward to the british vessels, WG have a habit of taking much anticipated vehicles and ruining them. Everyone expected the german ships to be all powerful and they were released as, well, terribad. I fully anticipate the British vessels (as designed / configured by WG) will in some way be laughable. I'll be extremely surprised if they do the RN ships true justice, so be careful what you wish for, WG have disappointed people terribly in this regard in the past. They set the standard around the US and IJN ships, and everything else that comes after gets the leftovers in terms of strengths and weaknesses, the RN ships will be no different.

What can we do about these gutless cowards on WoW

What can we do about these gutless cowards on WoW
Shaka_D replied to Antony1953's topic in General Discussion
Not sure about the cowards but have you seen the guys shouting 'stick together' at the beginning of the battle and 3/4 of teh team literally stay in a fleet that goes off to a part of the map that has no effect on the game, i.e. the enemy caps all points easily while the 'fleet' does absolutely f'all in the middle of nowhere. Whatever happened to players learning to interpret the minimap and possibly enemy movement / direction? It's laughable watching some anuses follow the textbook and glue themselves into a nice little flotilla of nothingness while ignoring everything else. -
In short, yes. Premium accounts net you 50% more credits and xp per battle as far as I understand. Premium ships earn similar but the xp may have to be converted for dubloons to free xp in order to use it.
-
Would you sell the bb's or just grind the credits?
Shaka_D replied to _x_Acheron_x_'s topic in General Discussion
Yes, we all know what he may be capable of at times, but when someone asks a reasonable question, give a reasonable answer instead of stoking a fire that may reignite. Why oh why would you possibly feel the need to incite discord. It makes you just as bad and sad as you accuse him of being. Think about it next time. -
Trying to sell it to us are you? Do supertesters ever say anything bad about anything WG related or is it a requirement to promote all things WG related as part of the 'job'?
-
I find it really sad the the whole stat culture is being brought to WoWS like it was in WoT.

On the Ocean map?

There is something inherently wrong with your answer. WG are successful, true, but by no means does it means they always know what they are doing, hence they have, still do, and still will make many poor decisions as they did in WoT, and as they did with WoWP. In fact, if developers were able to really listen to their playerbase there may be a few very good things that come from it in terms of improved gameplay. Don't ask me to prove, there is sufficient proof in the gaming industry from past and present to prove me right anyways.

Sounds like an extremely positive patch. Looking forward to it.

Funny, because I don't recall stating such. My reference was to WG recycling ships and calling them deals / specials, whatever, and this might be suitable for new players (as Admirable_Noodle points out) but for current players offers nothing 'new' at all, figuratively speaking. Yes, we all like having the choice, I'm not arguing this, but WG are not new into the franchise and so far WoWS has had a rather underwhelming start for a game officially released. Yes, we know more will come in time, but at present it feels stagnant and it is imho. If you're easily pleased, good for you, your expectations are obviously very low.

OP is a coward for using a troll account?
-
Except the blatant fact they're simply recycling the ships they currently have in the premium shop, so in terms of content or 'weekly specials' in October they're failing horrendously. We wait 6 days a time for recycled ships in possibly reasonable deals and when they do put something relatively unique in the store then it's in a ludicrously over-priced bundle. So far everything since their fiasco of an 'official release' has been nothing short of comical, unimaginative and boring, apart from the trial of the german and russian ship mission. I have the german vessel but not even bothered to play it since it's disappearing, no point. I'm really worried about this game, it seems to seriously lack support and direction, with little to nothing in the way of information about anything of substance in terms of where we're all headed. I personally don't think WG know what to do because their specials / offers seem to be nothing more than placeholders to keep their website active. They don't seem to be pulling in too many new players and quite a few I used to play with have left, in fact no-one on my friends list has been online for ages that I've seen. The game and WG are not moving fast enough to capture interest and their deals are not actually deals. The game and general atmosphere, judging from comments onthe forums, seems to be backsliding heavily.

Match Maker - surely they can do better than this?
Shaka_D replied to Blackeon's topic in General Discussion
What a load of tosh that is! Of course the matchmaking has an impact on the way the game goes. Since the mm does NOT factor in player skill, even relatively minor imbalances in the team can sometimes result in terribly one-sided fights, and it's especially worse when the team with the better ships has the better players too. Player ability does count, yes, but that's the exception to the rule and if the balances in ships are more pronounced the other team will have an overwhelming advantage at the start. I have never ever understood why WG took the two most important factors in any matchmaking and ignored the one and worked only on the other, i.e. ships get factored into the mm, but players are ignored. Go figure. -
OP has put some effort into this, go easy on him, take it for what it is folks and be nice without the patronising comments.

Great read, thanks very much! I look forward to more

I love hearing the advice of 'cruisers need to support BB's' etc etc which is all fair and well in a textbook scenario in higher tiers, but in randoms, or in games where you're outranged, or there are no CV's, or even lastly there are a multitude of BB's? Not sure how the the 'support you BB's' actually translates into gameplay because it's one thing to talk the talk, but how exactly would you walk the walk? This type of advice is pointless unless it is accompanied by some real game examples that make sense otherwsie it's useless textbook crap that means very little. We all know what is mean't to happen, but we also all know what actually happens, and the two could never be so vastly different.

I have given up on this game "Unhandled Exception error, Application will be restarted"
Shaka_D replied to Braza117's topic in General Discussion
Can you list everything you have tried to we can roll through them with you perhaps? Maybe there's something you've not considered? Mine works fine with similar specs. Have you read this THREAD? -
There was nothing wrong with the Iowa's guns that reduced my pensacola from full health to 1000hp with one salvo at maximum range. They all seemed to hit me just fine and do maximum damage.

Mr. Negativity here. I'll admit it's not a bad mission, but let's be honest - it offers nothing permanent other than a momentary trial of different ships, and I'm sensing it's a time-filler until the the patch cause they've got nothing else to offer premium shop-wise or elsewhere, but nevertheless I may give this a try purely to add a little variety to my game and because like others I can't wait to see the next lines coming out. Not really interested in keeping the captains, I have too many already. Hopefully they'll not offer too many like this in the future because they offer little incentive and actual game advancement in any way, just a temporary distraction from the daily grind and other obvious stuff. This isn't about free stuff (too lazy to quote the actual supertester stating such), it's about WG trying distract us a little to keep us occupied and interested perhaps. You can't use a bicycle rim to replace the broken 15" alloy on your car. It kinda feels like this for me.

My point stands, but good for you! Glad you're the eternal optimist. Perhaps the forum needs more optimists and play4fun types who happily ignore the negative in favour of the positives, but ultimately it's the truly objective whines that sometimes results in improved gameplay and content that everyone benefits from, you included no doubt. If we all ignored the negatives during the alpha, through the beta, etc. we'd perhaps be saddled with certain elements within the game that no-one truly enjoys, whatever they may have been. Saying 'I really love the game' offers little in the way of suggesting improvements, let's say from a developers point of view, but it does at least convey a happy vibe and stands as evidence of someone who is content with the current game environment, and for that you can be congratulated. Also, free2play relies on someone paying somewhere along the line so others who stay f2p can enjoy the game too. No recrimination for staying f2p of course, it's a choice we all have so from my perspective I'm glad that I have helped pay so you can play . Peace friend, no sarcasm intended.
-
I'm cynical by nature, I like to complain and in my mind convince myself it's people like me that ultimately result in things being improved in some ways for others who prefer to take things as they come, haha. Apparently I'm also self-righteous. And I can't help pressing the battle button over and over, it's shiny and so tempting. The only thing I don't get mad at these days are my stats, I'm really enjoying the game without worrying how well I perform, a far cry from how I played WoT.

Only half of my post can be regarded as an opinion, the first half comprises 11 questions aimed at trying to gather why you would make a random 'I love everything' post. By refusing to answer them honestly you only strengthen my opinion and give it more credence. The choice is yours of course but I still think you're a little wet behind the ears and / or haven't turned 12 yet . No need to be so blah blah'ish. I regarded your post as the same initially but then took the time to read it to give you the benefit of the doubt. Nevertheless, glad you like the game. Now pay WG some money so the rest of us don't have to pay them so much to keep you playing for free. (yes, the last part was a joke)
-
You see, I knew I was right!
-
How much money have you put into it so far? How far does freeplay get you? How many port slots do you have? What tier are you staying at? How many WG titles have you played? How well do you know WG? What is your true motivation for this post? Are you a WG employee? How old are you? What drugs do you take? How many WoWs games have you played? You are overly optimistic for my personal liking because I don't trust anyone, especially someone who for some random reason needs to tell us he likes World of Warcraft, but implying WoWs most likely. My diagnosis of you: A bonefide padawan, wet-behind-the-ears, newbie, inexperienced in the art of all things WG. My recommended treatment: Immediate referral to MrFingers for electro-therapy and at least two weeks of 'Ground-control-to-Mr.Tom' rehabilitation. Long term treatment: Stay away from Admiral_Noodle - his wisdom will get you liking everything, even parsnips. Health warning: Don't believe anything any supertester tells you, because I'm jealous I'm not one, I'm far too critical of WG so will never be considered for any special priviledges. Other than all of this, have a nice day.
