    Possibly correct there, it was a while back and it was a suicide run straight at him. He laughed because he knew he should have been dead, and I laughed because I was stuck right near him and he was still alive, lol. If I had to be asked the question 'do I regret getting the SIMS?', my answer would certainly be 'No, i do not regret buying her at all'. I enjoy playing her, she's not pay2win, but is fun enough to play and quite capable of being a menace.

    You know what..I actually like my SIMS. Yes its firing arcs are relatively high, and the torps are like 49 knots, but she's ok as a crew trainer. She's not terrible. She really could use a buff to torp damage though, since I only do on average about 4 to 5k damage per torp. I hit a nagato with 8 torps in one salvo and he steamed off into the sunset with a quarter of his health left. Perhaps they'll give her a few much needed love buffs in the future, but she's not shockingly terrible. I helped win two battles in rank 9 and 10 with her last night, but as obvious its not wise to speed headlong into enemy ships. Daki above says it better than I have.

    Yay, I just made rank 9, I might hang around in 9 for a game until going back to 10 again, I miss it too much. Rank 10 and I became great friends.

    Yep, and they always tend to be on my team in an aoba that yolo's, a matsuki that yolo's too close and get's killed quickly, a cleveland that get's citadelled early on..and we're talking rank 10 here. The enemy team hardly ever gets a tier 6 to balance it out. I must have the worse luck there is in this game. In two of my games this evening the enemy team had a perfectly balanced team, one game the enemy had a bb, 3 cruisers and 3 dd's. Our team had no bb's (the ship at the top of the list was was an atlanta - he lasted 4 minutes before being blown up), leaving only 4 cruisers and 2 dd's. Cruisers were outgunned and their 3 dd's ganged up on our two...especially when one was a musuki and the other a hatsuharu while the enemy had two blys's and a kiev.

    Sorry, but you're very wrong. The mutsuki would have gained more xp for being a lower tier, here easier to stop him from losing a star.

    Saw P4RDUS on the enemy team in ranked battles on New Dawn. It would be rude not to pay tribute to his survivability in his myoko. I delibertately targeted him in my nagato when I saw him on the enemy team...sorry matey. You were a threat to my sanity.

    Hey, what did I do? Also, I'm really struggling with ranked battles. I can maintain and slowly improve my win rate in randoms to around 56%, all too often well into the top half of the team and very rarely near the bottom, but in randoms I simply cannot even get to bloody 50%. Is this just because I stink at a team battle type setup, i.e. somehow I do better in larger more forgiving battles where there are more players and therefore suck badly when it comes down to smaller teams when individual skill becomes more important? Damn, I must really suck at this game then. I've been complimented by quite a few people in team battles when playing as a merc, and asked to join a couple of teams, but judging from my ranked battles score I must be a true potato, despite me trying harder than ever before to play the game more competitively with more of a team focus. Totally confused.

    If I had to rate my fun in ranked battles I'd say I have 25% fun and 75% frustration at the moment. I play ranked battles as a more competitive mode, but the many inconsistences with the MM and lack of team balancing means it's more of a lotto draw whether you advance or not, and since there is no anti-cheat system in place it makes it hard to see how many are using suppliments to give them better chances. Some players are really good, and you cannot go around accusing everyone, but I have no doubt that there will always be a unscrupulous few that will use them. I've looked at many players' overall stats after games and have been hit so accurately so consistently by so many players whose stats reflect extremely poor skill that I can only imagine that something is not right. Maybe I'm just tired of playing with so many who should never feature anywhere close to ranked battles, yet they do, and they drag a lot of us down with them. Sorry, cynical answer for you.

    Played my last game in ranked tonight. 2 wins, 8 losses. All the way back to rank 11 from one battle away from rank 9. I just cannot do the one step forward two steps back BS anymore with uneven teams and players who don't want to win and then argue that they were on a phone call, just playing for fun, don't really care how they do, etc. I've seen all these excuses tonight and more. Well done bad luck, you beat me. Not sure why I even try, it's silly really, there is a glimmer of hope each night followed by frustration when the mm totally blows team balancing given one side more dd's, hence the massive advantage to them. Been like this all night so finally throwing in the towel. See you folks in a couple of weeks maybe. Chow chow. #demotivated-disillusioned.

    @OP: It does seem like they try to throw ranked battles, but as Noodle doodle says, it's just bad players. I think with WG putting the ship classes in as tier 6 / 7 it's attracted a lot more players and a lot depends on luck who you get in your team. Treating ranked battles as 7v7 random battles is great advice, which I need to take since I assumed everyone was there to compete, which in most instances they seem not to be even with battles I see at rank 10. Not that my skill is anything to go by, but I try, and I've fought with and against lots of rank 7 and 8 players whose skill is highly questionable and seeing them play it became really suspect as to how they managed to acheive rank 7 or 8 in the first place - lots of luck supposedly, whereas mine has been bad. I still see a lot of tier 6 ships at rank 10 and makes you wonder what people are trying to achieve, although a large part of me suspects they're simply manipulating the game to ensure they achieve top spot and don't lose a star due to higher xp gains. All in all, the majority of them are arguably braindead, perhaps they don't know they're in ranked battles?

    Yep, I saw you there and was a little annoyed with the team since they just coudn't gel together...despite me asking nicely...happens when some folk like to play solo or can't speak english. When I saw your name in the enemy lineup I knew it would be a hard game and then it all fell apart with the team. The very next game I saw dropsiq again on atlantic, this time on the reds. My team won and I played an overall better game. Dropsiq is deadly in his atlanta...I told the team this and they were slow to focus on him, but he eventually succumbed and joined the fish on the bottom of the stormy seas ..was a relief to see him go down (sorry mate...but you're a real threat to dd's in your atlanta).

    Saw Dropsiq and Ghost_SWE (is he a forumite) in a game in ranked battles. New dawn I think was the map. Dropsiq was in his atlanta, played it pretty well. Was quite impressed.

    The names of the accounts would indicate a shared account in some public place, maybe an internet cafe, or press accounts of sorts I reckon. Maybe even a husband wife, husband husband or wife wife, brother brother, sister sister or brother sister, uncle aunt, grandman grandpa , or just best friends team. In other words, impossible to know exactly and we can only speculate.

    The problem I have with it being a support ship is if I sit behind BB's in most games I'll be well out of range to fire my salvo's, because as we know more BB's sit at max range these days. And if I sit between DD's and the BB's then I'll be seen and targeted by the enemy bb's as an easy kill. So you see, there is the textbook rule and then there is reality.

    Agree totally. Back to the beginning of rank 11 after a really rubbish play session. In most games BB's telling us to push and then camping...all they wanted was for someone to spot for them so they could sit back and do sweet fanny all. The human race is lost and quite frankly I'm totally sick of ranked battles now. I cannot maintain a win rate above 50% and while I like to criticise myself if I play badly I simply won't do it if it's not true and in this case it's not. Time to quit the ships and play a little company of heroes 2, no point logging on each day knowing that I'll be randomised with degenerates - because this is the one thing I know. When I press battle I pray for a good team, is this how it's suppose to be?? Hoping we get a good team so we can rank up? I thought ranked battles ought to be more than simply hoping for good luck. I can now predict my gaming session, if I have a good day (like yesterday) I know it will be followed by a couple of days of losses so now I simply won't bother playing, lol. I missed the jolly roger after reaching rank 2 once a season or so back, then got cut back by days of losses all the way to rank 10. I was one battle away so was really hoping for the JR this time round. Now it's a no brainer that's it's not meant to be - sorry, I'm quite disappointed and bitter at the moment.

    Amazing that at Rank 11 you are still seeing players with tier 6 ships. You'd think that as the game get's more competitive players would make sure they take the opportunity at helping their team win. So many atlanta's, nurnbergs, etc. Maybe good in the hands of a good player, but let's face it, most are average not so?

    Same issues about 10 minutes ago. Pressed battle, count down, then we decided to cap A on fault line. I started moving forward and next thing I was back in port. No loss registered I think so I am hoping everyone got kicked back to port too. Next battle we all had massive lag and as mentioned in a previous post my DD felt like it was trying to forge through mud, and then became turbo dd only to slow down again. We won that game and I got to rank 10 and decide to quit for the night. Scared to press battle now! Question: I just got to rank 10 but I see it doesn't give you a star in rank 10 when you move from rank 11 like it does with moving from the previous ranks? Is this correct? So I'm in rank 10 now with 5 blank stars. Not complaining, just trying to figure out if it has something to do with being being dropped back to port on the battle before this.

    Same, just got into a game, we decided on capping A and next thing we knew we were all back in port. Then clicked battle again and we all had massive lag....my dd felt like it was travelling through mud, and then it became turbo dd....I believe I can fly..... We decided to sit tight through the game and all the rubber banding enemy came into the caps and we killed them. Got to rank 10 with that last game and have decided to quit for the night...

    The rewards have brought them flooding in. They should only issues rewards from rank 10 perhaps to discourage plebs, hehe.
